So, stupid me... I just realized that there was an open beta this past weekend where I could have played two of the SP missions. I've been really looking forward to this game since I saw the video below of the gameplay. Did anyone play it, and if so how was it? Impressions?



Seeing some of the gameplay footage... I am really liking what i'm seeing. Especially when you jump onto a platform that you can pull yourself up onto, there is an option to peak before going up which I thought was great and hadn't seen that before.,

I agree with you. The first two were not very good, but from all the gameplay I have seen of this one it seems fantastic. Staying cautiously optimistic.

I'm hoping third time's the charm. In the meantime Sniper Elite 4 comes out next week and I know that's not going to disappoint me.

You know, I didn't like Sniper Elite 3. Sniper Elite V2 was fantastic because there were plenty of chances and huge environments to use your sniper rifle, but with 3 I hardly ever used my sniper rifle because it seemed as though the way the levels and the objectives were setup that they wanted you to be stealthy. So 98% of the time I was sneaking and taking people out up close and personal which is not what I want in a "Sniper" game.

I found myself doing that more in 3 myself but I still enjoyed it overall. Overall, I'm a big fan of the series.
 
So is anyone else getting excited for this game? I am not sure why but I am really excited for this one. The gameplay looks great.

Game is out on April 25th btw.

I shouldn't be interested in this given how the last two games were and yet find myself...keeping tabs on this. I hope it's good.
 
GMG and/or CD keys might have this at a price I'm willing to consider rolling the gamble dice on.

Despite myself and my lack of enthusiasm coming off the first two disasters, this is starting to get my attention.

Agreed. There's a few long walkthrough videos that make it seem like a tactical shooter in a way.

Seems they may have finally got the hang of the Crytek engine or they had a budget to do what they needed to do.

2nd video is really dark you might have to turn up the brightness on the monitor or I had my nvidia video settings setting gamma too low.

Not expecting it to light the world on fire but cautiously I feel like what I'm seeing here is above suckdom and I hope to get more meaningful information in the near future.
 
Game looks good I bet they spent like a month rendering the slow motion bullet animation.

I picked this game up just to see how it stress my new 1080ti plus it looks pretty cool due to the realism I hope I get some Fear "the game" vibe out of this game.

The game comes out on April 25th... yeah, somehow I have a feeling if I see a good GMG discount or some such I'm going to take the gamble on this myself.
 
I don't know. The ai appears to be pretty simplistic and dumb. I will wait a bit. Looks great though.

Agreed, I'm really looking forward to seeing what the final product looks like. I'm hoping they have some kind of co-op mode as well as the tactical nature of the game would be extremely fun with friends.
 
I think it going to be good because in Walmart Game Center magazine they had a full page ad two issues ago.
Probably not the best gaming magazine out there cause they always have posters in every issue of LEGOS =)
Console people will eat up a games like this.......
 


5 minute loading times on PS4 this is helpful will put this game on my 2nd small 250gig SSD.

They better day one patch that or delay release. That's unacceptable.

Already getting a sinking feeling at this rate... I don't want to overstate anything but gee whiz.

The company responses in that youtube thread are not encouraging and make me want to cancel and bail out on this even if it is cheap. Maybe there's a damned good reason for that.


This series has been shit so far. I have a feeling that streak is going to continue if this is anything to go by.

Yeah forget about Planetside 2 loading times this games takes 5 minutes.

I'm going to wait around for the pre-load see if it pops up cause it's a 50 gig game.

I haven't received a key yet.

I'm thinking about bailing because once that key shows up that's it.

I just did a search for reviews and some of the early ones... not shaping up too good.

Methinks a replay of Sniper Elite 4 would be a much better idea vs this.

EDIT: I'm bailing out.

Funny...I bought the first two games for $5 each and I have a feeling that will eventually happen with this. Any and all of my "gaming instincts" told me pull out of this.

I'll reconsider in a few days if I see a bunch of positive feedback in threads like these for starters.

I watched the 16 minute video on Steam and fell asleep. The armored vehicle that you have to sneak past was so slow that I think the 1940's Farmall tractors that my family owned were faster in low gear.

I'm still holding out though I'll tell you guys in about 6 hours after it's downloaded =)
I'm putting the game on a 840 Samsung SSD.....
 
Considering this game and Prey are the only FPS out there right now that I have not played, and it has been damn quiet on FPS for the last 4 months or so, I may gamble on it.
 
No need to risk it I love Crytek games

Mixed reviews on Steam but people with crappy rigs probably.

No it isn't just people with crappy rigs.

If you start doing searches for reviews the outlets and such are coming with 2.5/5s and stuff like that.
