That Rosewill is ok but for close to the same price, you could have gotten a significantly higher quality Corsair 750TX with roughly the same amount of power on the +12V rail.

Yeah that RAM was a poor buy.

The ram works great. I've got a set right here that runs flawlessly.
PSU was bundled and brought the price down by about 100 bucks. The reviews were good enough.

The RAM wasn't bad. It was just overpriced because for $60 more, you could have gotten twice the amount:
$260 - G.Skill Ripjaws F3-10666CL9T-12GBRL 3 x 4GB DDR3 1333 RAM

Not solely a gaming PC. He plays... older games... That suck you in and take over your life... That virtualize well now... He's a linux geek also, so I imagine he'll be doing all sorts of things with it.

Like I said tho, the rosewill was a bundle that brought the cost down a LOT.

Yeah and I'm more than willing to bet that he won't notice an iota of real world difference between DDR3 1600/6-8-6-20 and DDR3 1333/9-9-9-24. RAM speed and latency hasn't matter that much since the old P4 days.
