Shroud Help

Hey ,i looked around and didnt find anything obvious,(maybe voyuermods.com)(probably because they dont require a shroud to be used for normal operation ),your probably doing something custom,maybe a shroud will help it perform better,that would be cool.
If i were you, i would make my own-
1.out of hard cardboard and tape/works ok, looks kinda cheezy
2.make one out of a clear plexiglas and epoxy.
3.use some old 120 mm fans hollowed out and double stack them,-would look good and work great,you can buy new fans for 4 bucks each at svc. or look in the forums.

i did #3 mentioned above. Get some cheap fans and hollow them out. Works great, its cheap, its easy, and it looks the best.

yeah ,thats what i would do also,both for looks and ease of install.~
I double checked the shroud at voyuermods, its actually just a flat plate design.it is for a triple alphacool rad but it may work for yours with a bit of hole hogging,not my first choice but you may gain a 1/2" with some 1/4" x 1/8" wide foam neoprene or weaterstrip tape.................peace

You dont even need longer screws. Just make sure you choose fans that have open edges and not the long screw holes, and get a small screwdriver. You can then use the screws that came with the rad on the gutted fans, then screw your fans onto the gutted ones, then your rad to your case. By using all fan screws, you get the least amount of vibration... you just need the right fans so you can get the screws in.
 
your right on the normal screws,(i had some solid fans i was useing, so it required longer screws to make them work....thanks for the clarification ! l8tr
 
I never even thought of stacking it with a 120mm frame, but it makes perfect sense(Great Idea) Thanks alot guys
 
I'm in the process of designing an external box. Without having to worry about noise, I'm thinking about using 92mm vantec tornado's and 92-120 fan adaptors with thin strips of rubber between the fan and the adaptor and between the adaptor and the rad. I don't know if this would work with 120 fans though.
