Can you guys recommend a computer desk with room for a large tower and two monitors with room to spare? High quality?

    Thanks

A door with fence posts for legs. Best desk I ever owned.

Just got my 404k setup and running. Amazing. Single most dramatic hardware purchase I've ever made.

Excellent suggestion, but make sure you have enough support at the center of the door desk. I learned the hard way that even the strongest hardwood door will sag if there's too much weight on it. Add a 5th leg to the back underside right in the middle and you should be good to go.

Here's my effort, from about this time last year:

That was a $220 solid hardwood door cut specifically for use as a desk top. Within just a few weeks, the center began to sag. Had to junk the whole thing.

Or add a small steel beam with rectangular profile. Or H-beam, under it.

So I see the controller, and the only thing I can think is that the reason it is so large is because it all lifts up.

Please tell me my hunch is correct because that would be awesome.

Yeah, some lateral cross beams on the bottom would likely solve that.

Truth. The guy who cut the door assured me it would hold anything "just as it is" so he refunded the money when I e-mailed a couple of pics. Didn't even want it back. :p

Yep, the back and front are independently adjustable and have enough range to go from sitting to standing heights.

Yep, it is from a year or so ago so the setup looks a little different.

    Thats funny.

Looking at Bestbuy to find something. My current case towers over my desk with no room for the monitor. :(

Is there a replacement for the 2007fp's ? I've got a dell u3014 in the center flanked by two 2007fp's and the fp's are showing their age.

KLLSWITCH, Nice setup. Are you running those 3x GTX980ti's in sli mode? All 5 monitors running off the ports on one machine? What's your impression of the Phillips? Thanks!

Thanks. The 980s are in 2 way SLI to get all the screens to work and still get good performance. The 3 bottom screens run off the main card and the top 2 soon to be 3 will run off the second card and the third and first card run together. So far the Philips screens have been great i don't notice a huge amount of color bleed like ive seen in some post of the mega thread here so all in all i really like them and feel it was a great purchase and do not regret them at all.

this might seem silly but i ask this before to myself, like you. and the real reason is that i like to see the hd led flash on/off.

You wipper snappers and your tiny UI's. No possible way I can see anything if it wasn't 250%.

looks awesome! is that the 40" or 48"? how much did you get it for? i'd really like a 40" display but now that i've experienced gsync i can't go back. if a 40" 4K gsync display were available i'd be shoveling money at it.

Spent about $900 on the BFriday sale on Amazon shipped. It's a 40". I am upgrading from a pair of 24" Asus monitors (no gsync) and honestly this thing is amazing. Super clear, super fast, super smooth and no judder at all. Tried Fallout 4 on it and while @4k was a tad laggy (especially when I turned on the TV's 2Dto3D setting (lol) it's completely playable at 1080p.

@SuperMario: Congrats! I've been rocking my 40JU7500 for about six months. Love it more every day. Gaming on this thing is sublime. Of course, you paid a lot less than I. Next big purchase, I'm waiting for a BF deal.

My current setup. On the right is the Acer XB270HU for gaming, left is the Acer K272HUL that I picked up cheap on black friday for use as a side monitor. The TV above doesn't count...it's a plasma :p
