Yes, i know most will probly say, either THE Q17+!! or tell me some other panel to confuse me, but my reasons are thus.
I wanted to just upgrade to 17", but findin CRTs that arent A) 22" and Expahuunsive! or B) About as good as those old flip books from the 20s, seems to be harder these days, maybe this area is bein taken by the LCD Gang.
SO, as you might think i didnt want to go nuts an keep lookin at reviews of monitors, an then findin one a liiiittle better, if ony i had that one, like we all do wi our PC bits lets face it. So i tried to just find a good LCD that i can use for games without it costin the earth ( the earth costs anythin over 280ish sqid t me )
Ive heard a lot of tell that most panels are about the same these days, seein as there arent many makers of the panels anyways, and the DVI vs Analog thing is not that big a deal if u have a good AGP card and a good analog monitor.
I tried to tell you all as much as i could so u dont waste ur hard earned free time here askin me more questions.

Thanks for any future help on this

Or the 710T, which I just got and so far am enjoying immensely.

Heh. Thanks for reply guys. I tell ya even with all the posts ive read, trying to find A) the monitor to suit MY needs B) One with a good rep an C) one that is in my price range is damn hard work  , an im off work for 2 weeks !! ( tho as usual i have caught a cold in hols )
Both o those look reasonably in my range an i know, as samsung make there own panels (right?) they should give there monitors the choice pick of the batch so to speak.
Ony thing is, i chose those three cus i live damn close to the shop of a place called
Overclockers UK ( www.Overclockers.co.uk ), and as such have a great chance t get stuff an if it breaks i jus take it back, so i get the ease of lookin on t`internet, an no hassle with sendin stuff back an forth. All those LCD`s where from there, an as yet, they havent got the samsungs in, which i think are hard t get hold of right now, here at least.

I`ll take a look round at reviews of those 2, tho i know real world is always better ;) . I had seen good stuff about the benq an the hyundia, but the viewsonic i didnt see much about.

Yeah, thats true, but as i said above, it depends on what u can get ur hands on, and whether u can take it back ez.

Word. They were going for as low as $400 a couple of weeks ago. :D

Heh, Word.

Btw saw a NEC 1760NX, which i think i saw reviews as bein v v good, for £301. If i do go for an update/upgrade to my CRT i think thats a good deal. Other than that the cheaper sammy will do me. Thanks for the replys lads, mucho helpful....o ;)

Update

Think im lookin at the NEC 1760NX, and the Samsung 710N...or T heh, sooo hard t choose!

I'd go with the Benq you've mentioned. They make a good LCD, and are significantly cheaper than other companies. It has good specs, 500:1 contrast ratio, 260cd/m squared, 16ms response time,... All those are good specs. I can tell you right now it has an optimal resolution of 1280x1024. And it also has speakers built in for lanning!

Go for Benq, it's the best choice to give you what you want, and save you money. There are even some cheaper Benq 17" LCDs, like the FP737 (I think that's it), it still has good specs (260cd, 450:1, and 16ms I believe). And it's cheaper than the 767.

Don't waste money on the Viewsonic. And The Hyundai is probably overkill. I never buy Ultra High End products, as their prices are jacked to the max.

Ok, now for defo, positively, absolutely, 100% completely certain goin for the Sammy 710N .....probly lol.

Its cheap enuf and good enuf, seems to b nicely inbetween the high-end DVIs and the low end analogues, i know its an anologue ony, but cant say as my eyes are exactly like hawks anyways.

So there we have it a winner, woohoo! ..... now all i need is the money  .. anyone? :D
