RTX 4090 CPU Bottleneck

Too bad Monitor bottleneck is not considered. CPU bottleneck is a term that seems way too general. There is always something preventing faster performance, game code, API, Ram Speeds, background processes and so on.

What I find interesting is looking at YouTube FarCry 6 RT results, the 4090 at 4K with 12900K and other high end CPUs is doing around 100fps-110fps. As my 3090 does 72fps with ultra settings + HDR @ 4K with 5800X3D. If I use the ingame rendering resolution and set it to .7 (70%) I get around 110fps, 80% 96fps. Quality looks better than FSR to me. The game is very smooth without scaling the rendering resolution so a moot point. Now the question is, is 30fps added to this game with already smooth game play worth $1600 -> not to me. The 4090 RT may have improved 2x-3x but RT games are still mostly rasterized so the gains in RT games is less than the improvement in RT.

As a note, the 6900XT performs virtually identical to the 3090 with RT on, go wonder :D.

Far Cry 6 is not a great title for measuring RT. Games like Control, Watch Dogs: Legion, Cyberpunk 2077, and Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition are the current go-to benchmarks for RT, and in those, we are seeing at least a 2x uptick in performance over 3080/3090... and this is before tech like DLSS Frame Generation.

Have anybody seen any benchmarks showing how much uplift I can expect going from a 9900K to Raptor lake or Zen 4? I can’t seem to find anymore using 9900K or equivalent on the latest benchmarks for those new CPUs.
The 10700K is still being benched by GN and HU, which in itself is a slightly OC'ed 9900K.
Here's a few benches that have the 9900K vs 13900K VS 7950X etc.

Why? Because it does not show Nvidia in a good light? If Nvidia RT is so great than then it should just blow this game out of the water. It doesn't, the question should be why is that the case?

It does seeem to be a specialy case, had it is rare for the AMD card to beat the NVidia one with RT enabled:

The 4090 goes from 110.2 to 106 fps to 96.4 from 1080p to 1440p to 4K, does seem to be something going on with that game on Nvidia side, it is an extreme case of not looking good at all, at 1440p with RT on the 6800xt beat the 4090FE (or 3090), which make it quite the unusual title.

The fact is that a 4090 + any CPU from the last few years is producing frame rates that are insanely high in most situations. We are very much in a period where cutting edge hardware has outrun advancements in game tech. It’s awesome.
It would be more awesome if the GPU didn't cost as much as an entire PC.
