Rough New Case Design!

Dont you guys read anything this is not done yet this was just to show you the progress i have made so far jeez

Both of the case sides should be made of smoked acrylic... You should have 2 radiators in the bottom larger compartment, mounted to the case sides, air should flow in one side and out the other :)

That reminds me of a very popular silverstone setup.

How wide is this case? How about a pair of radiators as suggested, but exhausting out both sides. Large front fan sucking in cool air with a duct to both radiators. The radiators can have a couple fans on them sucking the air out. This way, both rads get cool air. You could design the case as a form follows function and shape the front section of the case to accomplish this with a 200mm or 250mm intake fan.

Made some progress on the design still have to add the hdd bracket i have made up and the put a top on it and make some sides!

Now can you please give me your honest opinion of where this is heading!;)

Question:

How are the 3 120MM? going to pull in air if they are behind your 5.25" drives?

There will be a chamber open to the out side of the case to pull in fresh cool air from the out side to seperate the drive area from the motherboard area, similar to the tj-09 but way more affective!

This is a shot of the underside of the case where possibly one of the radiators will be installed to blow the heat out and dont worry this case will be elevated off the floor for the air to get out.

Okay so then how do you get the SATA/IDE cables and power cables from the drives to your mobo/psu. I'm a bit lost in this design. Forgive me I might just be missing something
.

There is gonna be the motherboard panel and behind that is gonna be a panel where all the cables will be behind so that it will be very clean looking. I just havent added that into the design yet. If you would like i would be more than happy to help you understand anything you want and try and give you visual aid by adding it in sketchup.

He is sayin that
-Anyone can come up with that idea (nothing really new in your concept).

In order to really impress, build it.

If anyone can come up with my idea then why havent they? And this is fresh of the dome boy im in the zone boy. And i will start building this as soon as possible just to impress you!

Something for your design, to be clean and nice, is find a way to do the SATA connections like the Blackbird and some of the new Lian-Li cases.

Sideways drives are easy to access and look cleaner in my eyes. Biggest criticism of them is the blockage of airflow due to the cages. I would like to see something better than lots of holes in the HDD cage. Come up with something unique. A single vertical column on each side and a bracket off of them to hold the drives. Why are you putting 1 rad upright and one in the bottom chamber? The bottom one will not push heat into the case, the vertical one will. Why not put both rads in the lower section to keep heat out of the Mobo area? Also, I hope you like making custom wiring harnesses. You have a huge case, I doubt any PSU will reach your components.

Also, there should be pre-made computer parts. I messed with google sketch very briefly and I imported a fan from the google site into my model.

What do you mean they haven't?

Not trying to shoot you down, but every "feature" you have on your case, you keep saying it's from "so-and-so" case.

There are lots of p18x and TJ09 references.

Okay everyone im am embarking on building this design i dont know why, i am still in the middle of my titanium oc mod. But i will build this and to the best of my abilities make it the most clean looking feature function case i can.

And who ever said, the three fans placements in the middle are designed to be an intake and exhaust out the back fan not house a radiator, but they can hold one if desired, just make the back exhaust an intake and your fine.

And also who ever said about the psu reaching components, if you respect your pc you will only buy from the best power supply manufacturer, in my opinion, and thats PC Power & Cooling. And they offer custom options including the lengths of your cables and others as well.

i think i read somewhere theres a certain length amount that carries effective voltage from PSU to compoenents...

and this REALLLLLLLY looks like a Antec or Silverstone case....

i love the bashing that was going on, i had a good LAWL

Just out of curiousity.. is this thing going to move anywhere... ie LAN's? Also what are the dimensions.

Seems to be a massive case.

As of the dimensions of this case they are 28 1/2" long stands 24 1/2" tall and is 8 1/2" wide. And i dont really lan much so size really isnt a problem, and yeah i work out like 5 times a week so im pretty buff:phehe

Pc Power & Cooling would not offer that as an option if it affected the performance of their powersupplies.

I'd just get a nice PSU and do the cables custom myself anyways... To negate the resistance of long cable runs, just use a thicker cable. Duh!

Thats what im saying it can be done not the hard, i was thinking to have the frame one piece and bend to desired shape and tact weld it together at the ends, or just cut four sides for the frame and weld and put up supports for them?

At the amperages pulled in a computer, and the standard size wires used in decent PSU's, you'd have to have a run of about 40 feet before voltage drop would be an issue.

Anyone probably HAS come up with this idea before.

It is just: 1) too big
2) will be too heavy
3) appeals to a very small audience of buyers
4) most likely would not adapt to standard, off the shelf components, so again; no one would want to buy it.

As you said, the cable runs would probably be too long, so a standard PSU would not work.

its the same freaking size as a lian li v2000 or v1000 series and depending on what matierial i use it will not be TOO heavy can i build the dang thing before you start criticizing the project. Once i give you a weight of the case then you can say its too heavy im to scrawny to carry it boo hoo hoo.:(

And anyone using this case is not gonna use a standard size psu, save your nit picking and complaining and whatever smart things you have to say for when the case is fully built and ready for it to be filled with parts.

You guys bitch and complain to much.

I like it. I'm a fan of bigger cases and I think if you pull this off right it will be a fucking amazing mod.

Fuck the naysayers, keep doing what you do.

The trick will be to use very thin aluminum L bracketing to support all the pannels...

I still think you would benefit more from moving the bottom radiator holes (in the seperate compartment) to the side of the case and set up a wind-tunnel type of setup... Then remove the fan at the very front... This would, IMO, reduce noise and increase efficiency.

You should also make some cutouts from the case-middle floor... Something pretty :D

You dont think that having a push pull setup on the radiator and then having a intake fan to bring in cool air will give good temps?

Ah i see what your saying, but that means that either a. i would have to mount the radiator to the frame and line the holes up for vents on the side panel or b. mount the radiator to the side panel.

You dont think that having a push pull setup on the radiator and then having a intake fan to bring in cool air will give good temps?

It will, but I think it's a gross misuse of fans really... Especially considering that 3 120mm fans on the radiator (or 6, either way...) will be easily restricted by the single 120mm intake... Having 3 holes on either side of the case will allow for the same amount of air in as out, and only require 3 fans rather than 7.

Ah i see what your saying, but that means that either a. i would have to mount the radiator to the frame and line the holes up for vents on the side panel or b. mount the radiator to the side panel.

This should be very easy to line the fans up properly to the case side panel. Hell, you could even use some sort of foam gasket to get a good seal... Just put the fans on the radiator, apply the foam gasket around the fans, and mount it so the fans line directly up to the fan-holes drilled in the side panel... Or hell, use a radgrill and be done.

But, I'd mount the radiator to the case its self, not the sides, using cheap small L brackets from Home Depot.

Just mount the radiator/fans as close to the side panel as possible, mark the holes through the L bracket on the case floor, drill them, then hard mount the radiator... Then, with the radiator in place, look through the side panel (I assume it's going to be acrylic?) to figure out the boundaries of your cut...

Im thinking that one side will be acrlyic or at least a portion so you can see your money, you know what im saying. But i was thinking some like sound dampener and match it to the out side of radiator so you dont here any buzz or vibrating noise and it gives you a good clean seal for airflow

I don't get all the hate either. I don't care if it looks like a p180, TJ07 or if it ends up looking like a piece of sh*t. it's his project and he's just here to share it with us. he wouldn't have gotten all defensive if yall didn't blast him in the first place. Then we have people saying he needs to be able to implement his idea, no fkn duh, but you can't just go in blindly. Measure 3 times cut once.

Keep the wheels churning OP.

WarioWare drawn concept FTW ;)

Back to the subject matter,

I'd say go forth and construct this design, seeing as you're motivated well of yourself for this project.

It's your own personal preference of the case design you like.

Thank you for some positive feed back and i am calling around town today to see what stores sell what material at what thickness and at what price.

Maybe by the time i finish the case, hopefully not to long, it will be a nahelem build.
