Rough New Case Design!

I have drawn up an EXTREMELY rough sketch of a case design i want to build because none of the cases out that i dont already own dont appeal to me so to fix that i designed one. And its really rough and basic. I am pretty stoaked at this idea and what i can do.

If you cant read what they say zoom in and you can read it just fine.

No bro this wont be anything near a piece of crap antec case, like i said this is an EXTREMELY rough sketch you have to read the bubbles to get the picture but think what you want.

Warm air rises, why are you pushing your cooler air out the bottom of your case?

No need to get defensive and go "case bashing". Didn't say that it was bad, merely said it looked similar but you just had to put different interpretations to it.

yo bro dawg g. you need to put that shit into effect. show those thug haters what your crayon can do. that box made out of a few lines looks mad tyte, bro.

First of all, Antec makes some of the best PC cases you can get for your dollar. Yeah, Soldam, Silverstone and Lian Li are very nice, fancy cases, but Antec is still one of the best. I'm not the only one that thinks so too. Ask around.

Second, that case would be fuckin' huge and pretty loud. 6 120mm fans? Big enough for a double-size PSU + wiggle room + a triple fan radiator? Sounds like a Stacker or Twelve Hundred, but even deeper.

Let me guess. It'll be mesh on every side and what isn't mesh will be aluminum, so when all the case fans are running, the thing'll hum like a snow mobile at idle.

Honestly, I like that you're thinking outside the box. It's good to get the creative juices flowing and all, but the modern PC case doesn't really need much improvement. I've seen lots of ideas like building your rig into the desk, a desktop workstation type case, ATX and BTX towers, Server racks, those ghotty, huge cube cases... Even if you could design a case, I doubt that there's really a design that will work that hasn't been though of and implemented somehow before.

I wouldn't go that far and say it's not promising and fated to fail and whatnot.
Many mods improve upon pre-built cases that the manufacturer opted to shun away for various reasons - mass production = profit after all, look at the MurderBox

You're also not giving fans these days enough "credit". Assuming he'd be using silent fans, the noise output of those would be minimal; my Lanbox had 7 or 8 fans, 60-92mm and was pretty damn quiet - hard drive noise was the party pooper.

There's definitely a lot that can be done in the PC case market, design and whatnot. With your idea that the current case selection is saturated and at perfection, you might as well say that "hey, cars don't need improvement so let's not bother", or "Caesar salad has been flavored to perfection already". There's always room for improvement and innovation for everything.

Yesterday when i started to think about this i took 12 12cm fans put them in my tj-03 along with the stock 3 8cm and the front 12cm just for shits and giggles. Now that was no louder than the stock fans that were already in there and it gave me a ridiculous idea. I wish that i could make this a 3-D design so i could show you what im really aiming for and its actually a sharpie just when i scanned it some of the color went away. And i did the math yesterday and it would need to be about 2 1/4feet to 21/2feet tall. and about the same long and maybe and inch or so wider than standard cases. And i am not in anyway bashing antec i have owned a few of their cases and they just didnt do it for me.

Warm air rises, why are you pushing your cooler air out the bottom of your case?

There are three compartments and they are all separate so that radiator would push air out the bottom and it would get cool air from the front intake for that compartment.

holy sh**..
cant stop laughing.

Just mod yourself an Antec case, it looks like that's what you want anyway.

Also, the picture wasn't drawn with crayon, it looks like marker. I think that's because the OP originally bought cheap Chinese crayons and ate them, and whatever was in them (lead?) put him in the frame of mind to do this.

I will have a very detailed 3D makeup of this case here shortly and then we can take it serious, this was mainly for shits and giggles! hehe:D

yeah hard to take a picture of a cube at high res. but low quality with microsoft paint words written all over it.

and the fact that it's on yellow legal pad paper.

This sketchup app is sick i got the case's frame already shaped out in 3D now trying to make some 3D fans and other things as well, its mad cool

It's gonna be a pretty wonky case if the corners and walls are all squiggly like that.

I have looked at every case and major mods would need to be done for me to get what i want out of it so im still designing it right now

Show us some CAD or Sketchup renders. The crayon + lined paper isn't cutting it. =/

Sweet. I'm looking forward to seeing a better rendition of what you think it should look like. =)

Im pulling my hair out trying to get everything right from the math to radius of fans to the actual size of the the 1200 watt pcpowerandcooling this is nuts! But its looking pretty good so far!

I've got the Xoxide UFO cube and my 7 120MM fans and 3 80MM fans are pretty loud. The hum from the fans can be heard from 20 feet away in another room with the TV on....

yeah but what fans are you using? i have had my nine scythe fans all on at once and it was more than tolerable!

I didn't say it wasn't tolerable. I just said it was loud. I sleep with my computer on... and it doesn't bother me any.

Haha thats true, but fan noise really doesnt bother me much and im installing fan controllers in the case so if need be just turn it down when not be used

I usually have music playing loud or tv or movies when fall asleep and this big huge 32" fan on high when i sleep

Does anybody know how to get a picture of what i have so far so i can give you something before i go to work?

Here is something before i go to work its not finished yet but there is the case psu fans and hdds drawn still have more to draw and to put together

I hope this is better than my previous picture!;)

Wow, that is simple. You may want to make it a bit more boxy. ;) I believe there are a bunch of pre-made computer parts for use with google sketch. That Case is gigantic. Will it be deeper than a typical 24" desk?

Good luck man, but you really need to work on your skills a bit more. Right now its just a box divided into 3 sections, nothing original. Keep practicing though.

Still not seeing the difference to any seperate chamber design already on the market.
