Well, I ordered a bunch of NZXT extention cables, I hope they are worth it, they cost a pretty penny.

I still could use a nzxt 600mm Sata Power to Sata Power option, at least according to my measuring tape :)

Decided that Zip Ties are the way to go after all, nothing else beats them for looks, size, and secure fastening - so I ordered some Mod Smart UV Red Ties and Mounts. The only real problem I ever had was I grew tired of struggling to cut Zip Ties with dull nail cutters for upgrades, but now I ordered this Micro Shear Flush Cutter after a bit of research, which should make life easier:

I grabbed the last one.

Are you using zip ties in the front or in the back of the case? If it's in the back I'd grab some cable clamps. They're much easier to work with.

I use them on all sides usually. Do you mean those cable clamps that have like a resetting ratchet?

Like these:

I worry about size for fitting back there on my FT02. It's not a TON of space back there like. I do try to wire it all behind the mobo, so the wires come out like ninjas :p

You screw them into the spare holes you have on the mobo tray. They're fantastic.

I'm so glad I switched up my X750 for the AX850... basically the same Seasonic X Series Platform PSU (with an extra 100 watts to ease your mind), but in the FT02, the fan grill on the X750 would force you to use internal air for the fan, as it simply will not fit with the fan grill the other way for fresh air. In fact, even with the Corsair thin profile grill, I had to take it off, as the PSU filter clips there was rubbing with it, making it harder to remove the filter for cleaning than it normally is.

I considered those Saddle clips from Mod Smart here, in various forms...

http://www.frozencpu.com/cat/l3/g12...ories-Wire_Management-Wire_Saddles-Page1.html

But I think that the Zip Ties still offer a tighter grip and all... I dunno, I might be scared to try them, but the Zip Ties work in areas that the saddles can't reach, like between fan holes and all, I get really creative with them, I can't see the Saddles working all that much for me. I do like the Cuff style ones the best, but you can't change out wires without leaving a sticky mess, and the other ones look bulky or have issues in my mind.

Perhaps I could give them a try, I thought you had to drill for those, do the screws not get near your mobo and maybe short circut it (wiring from the rear)? My mobo is large, covers most of those holes from the front. That's what concerns me the most about that style, but they look great IMHO. I will order a few in tho just to see where I can use them.

it won't fit? hmm. Guess I better turn mine around lol. The filter screen is pretty tight to get off I agree but I'm not seeing the install problem you are talking about.

The X750 will fit in the FT02, but I doubt the PSU will be STRAIGHT if the grill is to the vent, it will be skewed a bit to the left diagonally ever so slightly, as the grill hump is towards the middle. Not a big deal you can't live with, but I am glad I don't have it any more. It DID NOT fit in my Sniper Black face down at all. Like impossible. There was a securing tab that prevented that. It's simply out of spec size wise by a small fraction of an inch. Going forward, I don't want to worry about it, so I gave it to my dad's system (his PSU was humming annoyingly) and bought me the new model, which had more watts and improvements to the X Series platform, so it was not my only reason to upgrade like. The biggest was I wanted the all black wires. And even in my Dad's system, we had to mod the Lian Li Case to fit it, drilling two holes into the case so that we could relocate that PSU foot, which would want to occupy the same space as that grill, but now it's just on the edge of the PSU where the grill is not raised. In this case, you could not put it face up, it was only designed with room for air to come from below due to the compartment design of the V1000. Without this mod, the PSU would not install here at all, as there was less wiggle room to install it there.

Now my FT02 PSU Filter comes off with ease, there is nothing pressing against it. Which again, was not a huge issue, but it's nicer this way. The AX850 is not as nice a PSU "Case", the details are not as nice, but it's simple and within spec, and on the inside they are all X Series Awesome Sauce.

Mine fits. You have to push against the back grill some, but I got mine with the fan facing out without any real trouble. I can get the filter on and off too. Sure it's slightly more difficult, but not prohibitive by any means.

I'm anxious to see how the X760, X860, and X1000 do.

I just used the case screws and screwed them into the back of the motherboard tray. As for them contacting the motherboard, there's PLENTY of clearance. I got mine from my local hardware store for like $2.50 a pack. I bought 3/8" and 1/2" diameter clips. They're fantastic.

I guess I'm making it a bigger deal than it is, but I defiantly had some minor issues between 3 cases on it, and I'm not a fan of forcing the metal to fit. Of course the x750 is not as good as the x760/x850/ax750/ax850, which are the newer tweeked x series models. I would have upgraded anyway I'm sure. Too bad I hear they are struggling on the 1000+ ones. Some post they think the platform is maxed out, so perhaps it will be something completely new.

You probably know, but the x850 = ax850, I may be wrong, but I read there is no x860, as there was never an 850 watt model to upgrade on, like the improvements the x660/x760 made over the x650/x750 ones... or is it there is no x850, only x860? It has to one one or the other, not both... Strange that seasonic released it via rebadged Corsair first.

I fudged the numbers a bit. There's no X860, but there will be an X850. It's upcoming though, probably around the same time as the X1000 and X1200. The press release can be seen here

Awesome thanks! If the specs are right on that page, I'm amazed they were able to fit the X1000 in the same space as the X750.

I question if they are not just using a stock X Series pic cus there is none yet.

Edit: In fact, it says pic for product reference only...

I noted that you can fit a Silverstone CFP53B Caddy in the area where the HD Tool Less part is, if you can custom mount it somehow.

Just received my FT02 Limited Edition from New Egg and the frame is bent. Box and styrofoam looked ok, but the case looks like it took a beating. You can see the red frame around some of the edges of the side panels where it is bulging out, and the one side panel looked like it was going to pop off from the pressure. I'll try to take pics in a bit. Called NewEgg and they are shipping me out a new one and I can send this one back. I think they only had 3 left in stock too.

I have minor seem fitting issues, but honestly I think it's well within normal production tolerances. Nothing to make me want to return it, and nothing like what you are describing tho. I'm hoping the TJ11 will be built on a whole other level, it's rumored to run $600, so I want it to be a masterpiece :p

In my quest to find a better HD rack for my FT02-WRI, I settled on this:

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/10878/cpa-379/Lian_Li_Hard_Drive_Cage_-_All_Black_EX-33X1.html

It's pricey, but I like the design enough to order one up. With my DVD Burner, my Blu Ray Burner, and this Lian Li HD Rack, now all my drive bays are full, but I don't intend to do anything else anyway. Now I don't have to fiddle with loose fitting Bay Covers, which is nice. It also adds another spot for a filtered Gentle Typhoon Fan. Sweet. Wish there was no Lian Li logo, but it looks nice in any case. If I need more space later, I will add the Silverstone CFP53B HD Cage to the FT02's Tool Less HD Rack area, and custom mount it somehow (the measurements do fit right in there):

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/1...ard_Drive_Cage_w_Suspension_Mount_CFP53B.html

But I don't need more than 3 HD Racks plus the FT02's SSD Bracket for now. By the time I do, I will be in that TJ11. I would like to try and watercool my upcoming TJ11 and two of these Lian Li HD Racks will come in handy. This would give me 6 HD Racks plus 3 TJ11 SSD Brackets, and now I'm free to use the bottom area for Radiators and Dual PSU's, and this only leaves 3 Drive Bays for disc drives... and everyone was complaining that the TJ11's 9 Drive Bays where too many, but I managed :p

Wow, only 150 available in North America - and one comes dented?
That sucks...

You can probably remove the Lian-Li logo on the cage. Also the CFP53B is significantly cheaper on Amazon.

The TJ11's hard drive cages down below can be moved to the 5.25" bays easily. I don't know how many hard drives you'll have, but that's an awful lot if you plan on having the two you're buying now in addition to the included TJ11 ones.

Excellent thread! I've recently decided to go with a FT02 in lieu of a Corsair 700D. With that, can anyone tell me how much clearance there is between the side panel and the back of the motherboard tray of the FT02?

I'd like to use some cable clips from MDPC-X for some wire management (http://en.mdpc-x.com/mdpc-cable-assemblies/cable-management-clip-medium-black.htm), but I don't know how much space exists between the mobo and the side panel.

Thanks!

You have 3/4" between the mobo tray and side panel. I use cable clips in mine. I use 3/8" diameter ones and 1/2" ones.

I just ordered twenty of every size in UV Red from Mod Smart. I have not found anywhere that sells them other than FrozenCPU.com for the USA. Anyone have a good etailer to buy the nicer ones from?

I figured I will not use the Silverstone Tool Less Bays at all, not on the FT02 or the TJ11. I greatly dislike them. Right now I have two 1TB HDs with plans to get an Intel G3 SSD. And I will add 1TB or 2TB drives in pairs as I create my media jukebox for HD Movies, Music, ETC.

So one will be enough for now, but even with two of these Lian Li HD things, I will only have 6 HD Drive slots and 3 SSD Slots in the TJ11. I want to reserve the TJ11's bottom compartment for watercooling.

? The TJ11 has two three drive racks in the bottom compartment. both of these racks can be unscrewed from the bottom and moved up into the 5.25" bays, so if you have those, PLUS another two Lian-Li bays you'll be able to have 12 drives, not six.

You are not getting me, I'm not using those Silverstone HD Caddies, they are not up to my standards :p, the arm is not designed to secure itself and the caddies slide out of their spot at the slightest tilt of the case when moving it. Unacceptable for me. The SATA wires actually hold the drive in place more than the caddies do! The Lian Li HD rack is handy, seeing as it adds more filtered airflow and superior HD mounting, IMHO. It can be moved to any machine too.

There is no perfect case, especially with tool less designs which I find hit or miss for me. I still want that TJ11, which I think will be the best case on the market for some time, despite that I hate the Silverstone HD rack design. The FT02 is nice overall for the money, but I'm eyeing a higher end Lian Li or TJ11 for later.

Here is a question, would it hurt the FT02's airflow a lot to add two 120mm Silverstone filters to my H70 to seal it off from dust? Using dual Gentle Typhoons at 1850rpm.

try plugging in the wires ahead of time, and get a right angle sata cable.

Already tried that... along with right angled sata power. But the bluray still sticks out by a couple of cm. I had to use it on the bottom slot - I'm used to it now...

But looking at the top of the case, there's a slot where an 8th pci slot can go. I was thinking about removing that piece... that would definitely give me enough room.... just need to get motivated.

??? My HDD sleds retain the drives just fine. They lock into the drive cage and I've tiled and shook my case and put it on its side roughly to see if they'll let go. So far they haven't. Sure, some people's have, but I guess it's luck of the draw. There are plenty of us out there that have secure drive sleds though. If the TJ11's drive bays work in those 5.25" bays they probably work in all of them.

If your HDD caddies are sliding out, your case is defective and the whole thing needs to be replaced according to Tony. I asked him about this issue before.

Well I RMAed it anyway as some sudden changes in my life dictates I will not be able to complete this build for two-four months, so I'll be changing up a few parts, waiting for my wallet to heal and I might as well wait for the case purchase too. Oh and the Lian Li HD Cage does not fit at all. I should have known.

Hey guys just wanted to throw up my pictures from my build. I started from the ground up...new case, mobo, monitors, desk, etc. I had a lot of difficulty getting the mobo in. I discovered after trying about 2 hours, that most of the screw threads were stripped (not sure who to blame here). Cable management was a bit more of a nightmare than I thought it would be, because I wanted perfection. I soon realized I wouldn't have perfection, so then just tried my best. As others have said, more space is needed on the back side of the mobo tray. The corsair H70 was not the easiest thing to install, in fact it sucked. The contact plate did not want to screw in properly. Performance though seems outstanding so far. I wish I saw those modded install pics before I started for the H70. I didn't, so I just did a normal install and you can see the bottom fan at the top of the acrylic window...no big deal at all to me. You'll notice in the pics, the computer is hidden. It's placed behind the desk and for the most part inaccessible. This was not what I wanted, but had to be done mainly because most cables would not reach without doing so. Therefore, I'll like have to get an external DVD-ROM to place on my desk and connect it via USB.

On a side note, I had a hard time finding a desk that would work with three monitors. If anybody wants to know where I got this desk, holler.
