I got my FT02 in (the non-window version) and it came with AP181 fans.
Hey guys, does this case have a POST speaker?
I would just really like to find out if there is a POST speaker.
So far so good, but I've only used it briefly. Ask me in a few weeks![]()

Tom, where did you get that amazing desk for your new setup?
How did you heavily modify it? It looks like it just fits right on top of the desk?
Been lurking around forums for a few weeks now and this thread has convinced me to buy an ft02, so just got one a couple of days ago! it IS awesome!! Ordered from Amazon and it shipped with AP181's already. Not sure if the hard drive holders have been changed as I've seen some complaints earlier in the thread, but they were pretty solid and clicked into place nicely. They were unmovable. Cools well, and the noise level (or absence of) is superb. The top bay was tight but still useable, wasn't as bad as I thought. The space at the back was actually tight so had to be creative with the cable arrangement from my non-modular TX750. I used the clips someone suggested in this forum and it does make it much easier. It all worked out and am extremely happy with my new case!! great thread![]()
It's nice to hear Amazon is shipping these with the AP181's installed. Which FT02 specifically did you get that came with the AP181's? I was going to buy a black one with no window, but I was going to hold out a bit longer to make sure I get the new fans. If you bought the black one with no window, I may make my purchase now.
Finished re-building my PC. Since I went Nvidia, I had to get a FT02 again to keep the GTX 480 cool.
Here is a mini work log of the build:

I may sleeve the PSU cables some time soon. The 180mm fan cables and switches are sleeved black from Silverstone. Good upgrade over the rainbow mess on the the original FT02.
Front panel cables are not sleeved.

Cooling Results:
I keep the AC pumping in my house so ambient temps are around 23C.
My CPU fans (Cooler Master Excalibur) are rated @ 2000rpm.
800D
CPU Idle/Load w/ H50: 42C/78C (1600rpm)
GPU Idle/Load w/ 5850CF OC: 43C @ 50% fan / 66C @ 65% fan (775/1100)
NB: 63C
FT02B-WRI
CPU Idle/Load w/ H50: 36C/72C (1600rpm)
GPU Idle/Load GTX 480: 39C @ 50% fan / 71c @ 65% fan
GPU Idle Load GTX 480 OC: 39C @ 50% fan / 89C @ 80% fan (850/1700/2050 @1.075v) Using Kombustor
During gaming the GTX 480 OC only gets up to 74C.
NB: 55C
You can see the 6c drop on the CPU idle temp and 7c drop on load temps.
Since I had different GPUs I couldn't do a direct comparison.
I think the GTX 480 is performing quite well in the FT02.
The OC guide I used to tweak the GTX 480 said I should be around 95C @ 100% fan during Kombustor.
Well I'm at 89C with 80% fan during Kombustor. This has to be because of the case.
This allows more OC room and less noise.
Thoughts on the FT02B-WRI.
It still has the short comings of the original and the red paint is super thin. You can see the small chips in the PSU close-up photo.
With that said, I would have to say this is the best version IMO. The fans really makes the extra cost worth it.
Newegg had 10% off case when I bought it so I only paid $233+10 shipping.
Looks goodie. I like![]()
I just received my FT02 from Amazon, black with no window, and it has FM181 fans in it.
I've sent Silverstone an email asking about possibly getting these changed out for the AP181 since the fan specs on the page seem to more closely match the AP181s anyway. We'll see what they say. I was hoping since one person here got AP181s from Amazon they all were.
It's somewhat ridiculous that they can't tell us whether we'll get a case with these fans in it or not, imo.
Mine came from Amazon with AP181s but I got the black FT02 with a window. Sorry to hear the one without window still ships with FM181. I wonder though if you can get Amazon to get yours exchanged if they get the ones with AP181 in the next 30 days.
They probably are in the middle of the conversion and won't officially say they ship with APs until they're very sure they've run out of the ones with FM fans. I would have hoped they were able to track it by variant by customer to make it easier for us![]()

Any pix of the back side?

ROFL? This kind of reads funny, thanks for the smile
(Of course I knew what you meant, although upon second read.. I was like.. hey, that is quite funny in a different context. It reminded me of a scene from Dumb and Dumber).
Wire routing looks pretty good, probably better than mine and I have a few less wires behind the mobo tray, nice job.
Hey guys made a thread on here looking for suggestions on a very good air cooling case and was directed to the FT02 thinking about picking it up but I'm getting very mixed signals, some people say its the best, some people say the HAF-X performs better, of course I don't expect it to please everyone but I'm currently using a CM690 with 7 120mm fans and it just runs way too hot for me (I'm 99% sure the fans are too weak, they're just the standard 2$ blue LED fans from coolermaster)
My setup is an i7 930 @ 4ghz , want to take it to 4.2 but the temps just take a huge jump from 70-72 max at load to 90+ when at 4.2 (low volts too)
I also use 2 460's in SLi I get about 50 gpu 1 37gpu 2 idle and about 60-70 both cards at load
Will switching to this case net me better temps? That's what I'm looking for. Noise doesnt bother me, I don't stare at my computer but rather my monitor so I don't care about looks eitherI'm very interested in the FT02 I'd just hate to spend money and it not offer any real benefit..
Let me know if you need other information to help me![]()

Here's a link with temps.![]()
Concerning the hard drive temps: I just remembered the tip in this thread to place an additional 120mm fan on top of the harddrives (blowing upwards). This reduced the temps to 33-34 C![]()
