Red Dead Redemption PC version after all?

I liked the cowboy stuff more than the killin' stuff.

It was fun going out and rounding up cattle and all. Shucks, that woman is awful purty. I'd like to marry her one day and all, if I didn't already have me a family... er.

I have it on PS3. I think the whole graphics "issue" people are having is a case of missing the forest for the trees. The overall atmosphere and environment of the game is epic. I'm at 92% complete and 80% something on trophies and the game still wow's me. Sure...shooting at an enemy over a hundred yards away amounts to blasting at black dots, and the aiming is dumbed down to satisfy using a game controller, but it all works. There's been many moments where I had to grab the roommate and go "look how gorgeous that view is!" - and that wouldn't translate well to a 26" monitor vs a 46" TV.

Can't wait for this game on PC. Reviews are excellent from reviewers and gamers alike. I've been hoping for a good western game since finishing Call of Juarez 2.

I fully expect the requirements will be sky high considering GTA IV, but that game looks terrific with everything cranked.

As for those saying you don't get as good an experience playing on PC, you can hook your PC up to your TV after all and have best of both worlds. I just hooked my PC up to my home theater and played a few levels of Metro 2033 at highest settings... it was a glaring example of how far ahead PCs are in the graphics department.

I completely agree! I bought this for my PS3 also and have been playing it on my 46'' Sharp Aquos. Looks amazing! Can't wait to get off work to get back to the wild west :)

Obviously graphics don't equal game play, they never have and they never will. RDR is just a great game but there are those like myself that would much more appreciate the awesome game play if it looked awesome as well, that's all.

At any rate, will assume that they'll get this to the PC, maybe by the Holidays? Just would be that much sweeter on a PC.

Probably depends on how long it sells well on the consoles. GTA IV didn't come to the PC until the console sells had died down. Sometime near the end of this year and early next year makes sense.

Watched my neighbor playing it. Not PC quality but still looks much better than any other 360 game Ive ever seen. Was a riot listening to my neighbor and his girlfriend talk about how great the graphics were though...I did not tell them to come play Metro 2033 on my box, perhaps I should have.

Im sure this game will come out like 2 years later lol. Pc gamers get the hand me downs.

For me, Just Cause 2 is the sleeper hit of the year so far, and Red Dead Redemption, although a good game, is easily the most over-rated. It's a good game, but it's nowhere near as good as some people are claiming it to be. Some people are saying that this game is perfect - I have no idea how this notion got into the air. No way is this game perfect.

I don't even think it looks that good. For starters, the grass is a joke (I saw better grass in Morrowind), and the water effects look like they're at least ten years old. The cacti and the boulders are fuzzy because of the god awful low res textures - the whole game just becomes a blurry mess when you're looking at anything from afar.

Over-rated.

What does JC2 have to do with RDR? People have their own opinions of RDR, you have your own.

The game is perfect to the majority, I don't have the game but I do think the game looks like a blast and graphics are not bad at all.

This game is perfect to the majority?

LOL!

Nothing constructive to say?

LOL!

Thought so, your JC2 comment had nothing to do with this thread and you haven't answered my question.

Many people like RDR for what it is and like it far more than GTA IV (Which I'm not too fond of), RDR actually looks fun compared to GTA IV.

Sorry but JC2 is a fucking joke of a game aimed at 10 year olds

WabeWalker you need to spend more time playing these games than hanging out on the forums discussing them. I bet you never even finished The Saboteur did you? :p

Yes, please do a proper PC version.

I want to play this game, but I have zero desire to play on my 360, anymore.

Right, because everyone that bought JC2 is a child. And everyone needs to be proving they aren't 10 years old... so they better not buy JC2. And people will really believe you're an adult when you use big boy four letter words.

Sit. In the corner, child.

This is correct.

It's true. I spend a lot of time posting about gaming... when what I really should be doing is working... heh, heh, heh.

The Saboteur looks amazing. But honestly I was just looking at it when I initially launched it. This evening I bought a copy of the game guide written by one of my favorite gaming authors, Mike Searle - and it only cost me ten bucks!

I'll get into The Saboteur on a rainy weekend. Right now (even though I bought Splinter Cell Conviction during the weekend Steam sale... and was unable to prevent myself from buying Alpha Protocol on my way home from work tonight), I'm obsessed with Resident Evil 5.

You might've seen in the other thread that I found a superb camera mod, which pulls the camera all the way back so that I can now see all of my character onscreen. On my new GTX 480 I'm able to crank up the anti-aliasing to 16QX, and run the game maxed out at 60 fps. This is a really good looking and fun game to play, and I have no idea why I gave up on it last summer?

I'm having as much fun with Resident Evil 5 as I've had in a long time. A wildly under-rated game if you ask me.

RE5 is a great co-op game. Single player? Meh, good for grinding out money, metals, and upgrades. Sheva's AI gets annoying at times on harder difficulties.

I loved Just Cause 2. It was my favorite game this year up until I started RDR, now I can't decide :p I don't think there is any comparison between the two games other than the sandbox thing.

And I don't think it's fair to say the graphics suck in Red Dead Redemption. It is easily the best looking game I've seen on the 360.

Red Dead Redemption is the first game in a while that I've actually given a shit about the story in, which is very rare, so that's part of the reason why I like it so much, I think.

RDR is definitely better than crap games like Alpha Protocol and the abysmal port of Splinter Cell.

RDR, played it and loved it.

The Saboteur will piss you off at times but dont let that discourage you. if you stick with the game it is quite entertaining overall. I have over 15 hours invested so far and I am at just over 70% of the story mode. I wasted a lot of time blowing up things because at first it was fun but after a while it just became tedious. the game overall is not really polished but for $14.95 I would certainly give it a B rating.

yeah I really liked RE 5 and hope they eventually bring the DLC over to pc. it would certainly be more fun in co op but I dont really have any gaming friends or family. I do wish they would have made ithe game more scary and a little less like a typical shooter though.

All this RDR talk makes me wish I had a console. :(
makes me glad I dont because I want to see this game with better graphics and running at true 1080 res.

tbh though if mt tv wasnt a crt I would probably go out and buy an xbox 360 an ps3 tomorrow. there are at least 6 or 7 games I would love to play but I am sure they would look horrid on my crt tv and I cant justify buying a new lcd or plasma at the moment. gamecube and wii games look pretty darn good on the old tv though...

Me, too. Badly. I'm practically having visions.

The game looks good for a console game but anyone that's a regular PC gamer has been spoiled by WAY better quite fast and easy.

The game itself is just awesome, though. GOTY candidate all the way for me.

If the CRT is an HDTV it should be fine.

I've put about 12 hours into RDR in the past week and it's been fun. I loved it for the first few hours but after getting to Mexico it's started to feel extremely repetitive and not all that engaging.

Mexico has been kind of dull for me as well but I have been told by a couple friends who've put 50+ hours in so far each that it gets really good at the end.
