Red Dead Redemption PC Oct 29

Makes me sad it's not a remake in RDR 2 engine. They setup the whole area for you to explore in RDR 2, felt like it was a teaser of things to come. It would sell like hot cakes too while we're waiting for GTA 6, this I'm not interested in at all, especially not at 50 dollars.
 
wow, in the days of games like Suicide Squad coming out and whatever else sweet baby spits up or ubisoft sh*ts out for $80-$130, you would think people would be ok with $50. but i guess that's the modern thing to do is always be mad and complain about everything?

me i'm just glad it's finally making it to PC and Steam for that matter. if you're that worried about the price, wait a couple months and grab it on sale. geez.

Versus Rockstar's delayed dump 14 years later? I can see why someone wouldn't be interested.
 
Are there seriously mainstream games that cost $130? Now I'm not talking about soecial Nerdgasm collectors editions or layers if DLC, just base game for a buck thirty?

No, base price for AAA is $70 (usd). Special editions stretch up that high though for digital version a even.

Its not usually a "base game", which thanks to console behavior is now attempting to shift the base "full price" to $70, but the real issue is that the "full version" of the game that includes all the "deluxe" , "gold", "ultimate" edition content can easily eclipse $100. Now to be fair, usually anything at these prices is including any "special edition" in-game content at launch, but also usually covers some amount of DLC/expansions to come, like the recently released "Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero" has a base price of $70 , the Deluxe is $100 which includes the first 3 DLC expansions in the season with new characters/content and some bonuses, and then the Ultimate is $110 which includes all of the above plus additional bonus content. There's also a $5 pre-order pack to get the stuff that was granted to pre-orderers for free. Street Fighter 6, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and many others kinda work on similar principles. Red Dead Redemption 2 has a standard $60 version, but a $100 Ultimate edition to that adds both single and multiplayer content. Typically you also have the opportunity to just buy the individual DLC content/expansions when it arrives, but its often more expensive and likely misses some of the extras included by the season/expansion/premium/ultimate pass etc. However, there are more and more games where to get all of the content available at launch, it requires buying a more expensive upgraded edition

Overall I'm happy that RDR is coming to PC and specifically on Steam without any BS, with all content included. They've taken quite a long time, bu its good its finally happening - I know people were emulating the originals on PS3/Xbox360 and the remastered Switch version given no native PC version was present. So this is good an the price seems reasonable enough provided they remastered it nicely , mods are supported and the like. Frankly, if this sells well I'm more interested in if this will compel Rockstar to put money into Red Dead Online - they dropped it without new content like a sack of potatoes because it didn't make infinite+1 money like GTAOnline shark cards out of the gate; stupid on their behalf and shortsighted. More interest in RDO play and new content would be good to see

Exactly. It's not a partial game for the base edition, you're just pre-ordering the expansions with the higher tiers generally.

depends i think some of the sports games are 80 plus micro transactions and mortal Kombat was 99 for base and that doesn't even include all the fatalities anymore let alone characters
 
I played the game on PC years ago, through an emulator. The games been playable on PC either through PS3, Xbox 360, and even Switch emulation. It's nice there's a port, but $60? Kinda late to the party there Rockstar.

These Canucks dollars? Base games are still $60-70. They do screw you over big time with the MT in MK no doubt.
 
After buying RDR2 on steam and not being able to play it for weeks bc my rockstar account was "compromised", there is no way I'm ever giving Rockstar another dollar. Had access to the game for about a week before account became "compromised" again and I lost access to it. Can't play my copy of GTA5 either.

Once again, piracy has a better experience than paying customers.
