So the logo on my ram is facing in towards the CPU cooler. Is that how it is supposed to be? It seems like the logo should be facing outwards. The bar code on the ram sticks are facing outwards.

It will only fit in one way, and there's no real standard for which side the manufactures put their bar codes or logos on.

If it really bothers you, you can pull the heat sinks and reverse them on some sticks. Or get aftermarket coolers. Or just not worry about it.

this is the third thread ive seen from you OP and I am now assuming you have never built a system before. perhaps you should watch some assembly videos on youtube to learn a bit more before proceeding any further. I'm not trying to be a dick but you really need to learn the basics. we( [H] ) don't mind helping be we cannot hold your hand and walk you through every step.

I have built computers before. I know the basics. I just was worried about the ram, so I thought I would ask. I just worry about stuff, so that is why I asked. I accidentally stripped the standoff holes because I thought that one was not tight enough and I stripped it and then I started trying to swap out the standoffs with ones from different holes and that is how I stripped a few other holes. I know the basics on how to build computers. The only thing I was worried about was the ram, so that is why I asked.

Standoffs and all other internals should just be snug, as stated before ram will fit only one way

Another tip is before completely snugging the standoffs test fit the graphic card.

After you build a few it will all be second nature, then you get to learn the art of wire management.

Basics does not include mounting memory now ?

LOL what even is that? It sound like it would break my ram.

They're making fun of you.

Also, when I read the thread title all I could think was:

Ram_Logo_02.jpg

I know how to. I was just asking about the logo. The memory is mounted fine. I have done it before and I have never had any problems with putting in ram.

Considering that it's electronic tab A, slot B, I'd certainly hope not. I know 7 year olds I'd trust to install RAM.

If you know how to mount RAM you would know you can only set it in one way. and that that probably takes precedence above what way the logo is facing.

I was just making sure that it wasn't defective.

What do you mean by electronic tab a slot b? Installing ram is really easy.

OK now it just getting sad.
I could have respected that you were unsure or had a question if you where a first time builder. That's fair everybody has to start one place.
But being this proud and saying you know how to do it, when you are needing to ask help about the most basics stuff....
I mean come on, the more you struggle to defend yourself, and asserting that you are knowing how to do it, the more fail it is that you where in doubt about how to mount ram in the first place.

Just let it go for your own sake. Its a learning experience. We are all beginner at some point.

You misunderstood what I said. I was never unsure on how to mount ram. I was just asking about the logo on the ram sticks. I know all of you don't believe that I know how to put in ram, but I do. I have let it go. I am just not going to lie and say that I don't know how to put it in. I am not the one who needs to let it go.

The first reply to this thread was the answer to my question. Thanks Bandalo. I never asked how to mount ram, because I know how to do it. I think it is stupid for you people to try to argue that I don't know how. I don't want to argue, but I know how to mount ram and my question about the logo was answered.

if you knew how to mount your ram you would know you cant tunr them around so aksing into the location fo the logo is unnede as there is no other way to put them than this one way....

Serious CC

you destroy your chassis
https://hardforum.com/threads/case-standoff-holes-stripped.1918626/

You don't know the basis of mounting your RAM
https://hardforum.com/threads/ram-logo.1918819/

and cant follow simple instructions on your thermal paste
https://hardforum.com/threads/did-i-apply-too-much-thermal-paste.1918803/

But you are still defending that you know how to build a PC?
PLEASE put your system out of its misery and get someone with the proper knowledge to do it for you.

I KNOW I CAN'T TURN THE RAM AROUND! I HAVE KNOWN THAT FOREVER! IT IS COMMON KNOWLEDGE! I DID NOT APPLY TOO MUCH THERMAL PASTE! I accidentally stripped one standoff holes and that is very easy to do. I stripped other holes trying to swap out the standoffs trying to fix it.

you didn't know since you had to ask...

Its not a failure to admit that something is out of your league. I don;t change the oil on my car because i don't know how to do it.

but if i did try it and i failed at it. i would not sit and try to tell everybody i know how to do it after making 1 fuckup that destroy something and have 2 basic questions about the routine.

I would admit I'm new to it still and just haven't got the right amount of experience/knowledge yet.

I have installed ram before. I was just asking bout the logo on the ram heat spreader, not installing the ram itself. Once again, my question about the heat spreader was answered .

Fine I probably didn't need to ask the question, but it was about the heat spreaders not the ram itself.

Next time just download more ram instead of installing it and you won't have this problem. Just don't download it backwards otherwise you will have less ram than you started with.
