Raidmax Smilodon

Stock fans are loud. All 80MM slots. Except one intake 120mm. Cable mangement is hard as hell. Everything else is fine to me.

Could turn the front 120mm fan around and exaust through the front.

The three 80mm could be turned around. that would be more then one 120mm.

or the best thing is to cut a little more from the back and put a 120mm,

As a joke 1 of those window A/C units from Lowe's w/ remote would cool it down..LOL

I like it.

RaidMax cases are about the only ones where the damn door opens the proper direction...to the RIGHT.

Why would you want your window on the left and your door opening to the left is beyond me, but 99% of cases are that way.

I agree w/ this 100% I like my pc on the right especilly w/ with the sound card I have is a 5.25 bay

The reason it is called Dirk-Tooth.

A guy named Dirk put The word SMILODON on the front of the case,
so another guy took the case and knocked Dirk's tooth out with it. LOL....

By the way it looks like the Dirk's Tooth bar is removable.
as for the SMILODON on the front, "BONDO" & paint.

I'll give a real review when I get my PC running still have parts on order.

Here is a good idea for a 135mm Fan exaust in the Raidmax Smilodon dirk-Tooth.
This would put a 135mm fan at the back top. plus it opperates cooler.

Ultra X3 ULT40064 1000-Watt Power Supply - ATX, SATA-Ready, PCI-E Ready, Energy Efficient, Modular, 130mm fan

Ultra X3® 1000-Watt ATX
SATA-Ready, SLI-Ready Modular PS.
Ultra's X-3 1000-watt ATX, SATA-ready, SLI-ready modular power supply features an "EE" (Energy Efficient) platform, which converts as much as 85% of AC power into DC power during typical loads. The Ultra X-3 also features a quiet 135MM ball bearing fan, its patented modular interface and a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Quiet and Energy Efficient.
The X3 uses less electricity than other power supplies when providing power to your computer. And it generates less heat. The X3's thermostatically controlled, 135MM ball bearing fan and a honeycomb cut exhaust grill ensure outstanding cooling with little noise. The X3 also has full range active PFC, which improves apparent power used by the computer. The modular interface allows you to only plug in the cables you actually need. The X3 is ready for even high-end gaming rigs with as many as four 6-pin PCI-e connectors

Bought one of these and did a build for a friend. Got aftermarket fans for it; they were quieter than the ones that came standard (...although we only got aftermarkets because she wanted everything to be lit up.) It's a very nice case in my opinion. The way the sides open up makes most maintenance very easy. The lettering isn't particularly offensive in person. If you want a fairly cheap and flashy case, I would say this is a pretty good option.

Kool, Thanks for the post,

Does anyone Know if the ZALMAN CNPS9500 AT 2 Ball Fan/Heatsink will fit in this case.

The case is 8" wide, And will be ordering this rig very soon / 2 days

Just a piece of totally useless knowledge,Smilodon is the technical name for the sabertooth tiger, that's where the "dirk tooth" comes from. Why they named a case after it is beyond me,I'd have been much more impressed if the named it the"T-Rex".:D

The Antec is better as far as cooling goes, six fans in all counting the optional side and middle fans.Probably better built, too.A bit of a challenge with wire management, but it's a good gaming case for the money.

Looks like the Smilodon now has a 120mm fan in the rear
check the specs, picture still shows an 80mm fan

Besides newegg, any other source stating that it now has a 120mm rear fan?

i purchased this case a few months ago for my son and it came with a 80mm in the rear.other then that this thing stays cooler then my own , But i am fixing that with a CM690 next week.

I also have this case and like it so far. And YES that bar is removable.

Why did I order the antec 900?

The smilodon has the removeable MoBo tray, however where do yo put all those cables?

The antec 900 allows you to run cables behind the MoBo tray, may need to drill some holes,
but for effective airflow I would like all cables hidden from the flow path.

This will probably only apply to overclocking, and having a clean build

Thanks
