Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to mourn the passing of KodiakStar's online identity. K* was a gentle soul, helping when he could, and throwing fuel on every fire. He was part brother to us and part sister. :eek:

KodiakStar joined us on 12/13/2004 and died 4/4/2006. He is survived by Marty, Moose, p[H]antom, and everyone else here. He is predeceased by Zrout and Leadman.

He fell victim to SWMBO and work where he acted as director to the director of directors....or something like that. Whatever....

Please feel free to stop in a say a final word for our brother. Rest in Peace, K*.

K*, we hardly knew ya. Well, really we knew too much about you. But now that you're gone, and it seems like so long ago since you were here that I almost totally forgot all about you, we hardly knew ya. :(

What is a SWMBO?
Something you're going to read frequently on these pages is the acronym (or actually, initialism) SWMBO. It's pronounced 'swimbo'. While we might be able to take credit for the initialism and pronunciation, the phrase is actually a phrase I first heard and read in the John Mortimer series 'Rumpole of the Bailey'. In it, Rumpole refers to his wife as 'She Who Must Be Obeyed', and, yes, you can hear the capitalization just as I've written it.

'She Who Must Be Obeyed' has become a running theme in our household, with, who else?, my darling dearling Kate holding the title. In order to make it simpler to say, we've come up the the initialism. Who was it who said that nicknames are a form of endearment? In this case it is most certainly true.

Of course, you can be resurrected if death is the result of SWMBO. Its never easy, but it can be done.

Eh, I used to talk to him quite a bit during the day, and the last month or so, he didn't seem to have the same zest for it. He'd been trying to find some people to take over the IronNuts Invi, and the DC'er of the month.

Story the same as many others, times change, hobbies evolve and life steps in.

Damn shame. Two things happen is seems, first is when the little head does all the thinking for the big head.

Second is when SWMBO convinces the little head she has “the only one” in the world.

Very sad :( ;)

The little head is never truly in control, being out of control is it's natural state.
 
He's gone, I never noticed, well on the bright side we still have Mary err Marty. Marty is worse than the SWMBO, I always saw some Irony that if you see a post with KodiakStar, Marty would always post in it regardless if it was on topic or not.

Or that it would have seemed in my eye that Marty was stalking K or was that the latter.

It's really sad that he had to go. I miss all of his very on topic posts lately... I love how he came to us on the forum, a young and mighty poster. His daily post count easily compared to the daily active user count of the [H]ard|forums. I miss his last months with us. :(
