Hi,

I'm trying to find some hard-to-find MP3s (publisher went bankrupt 15 years ago) & can't find any reasonable quality elsewhere so I've been considering using a Russian MP3 site to acquire them. I was going to post asking about sound quality & billing practices of some of these sites, but I remembered that use of them is illegal in some parts of the world.

I happen to be Russian (thought I don't live there ATM) and can, as far as I'm concerned, legally use these services. What is the stance on this? Would posting regarding it be a violation of the rules?

Thanks!

Well, if that site is legally able to sell those MP3 (given your mention of billing practices), then it is legal, not illegal.

Good luck!

I would suggest posting a thread explaining your problem, the sites you are looking to use, and ask for feeback via PM then everyone stays private.

It's a little unorthodox for users to answer such questions here, but I'm thinking I may be able to clear this up without the need for you to create a thread for it.

I imagine I know which site you're referring to. If you're in the U.S., purchasing from this site is not legal. It may be legal in other countries, however. I'm not a lawyer, but this is my understanding.

Hope that helps :)

Yup, just because you're Russian doesn't make it legal to do illegal things in the US just because you can in another country. Duh, haven't you seen Lethal Weapon 2?!
