Quasar 42" 4K 60hz with HDMI 2

Any confirmation that it's capable of 4k 60hz @ 4:4:4? Or is it 4:2:0 like almost every other 4k tv.

I highly doubt it has 4:4:4. I could only imagine the picture "quality" of a $299 42" 4K.

If you get it for 300 dollars it might be worth buying it for solely the purpose of re-selling it later on even if you don't want to keep it.

Still waiting on delivery. The snow has messed things up quite a bit. It's been sitting

2/12/2015 - Thursday
10:37 pm Left FedEx origin facility POMPANO BEACH, FL
9:50 pm Arrived at FedEx location POMPANO BEACH, FL
2:01 pm Picked up POMPANO BEACH, FL

Frustrated because it's been sitting in the FedEx hub (about 15 miles away) since last Saturday (2/14). I love snow though.. caught between grumbling between package delivery and my love of winter.

[actually drove over there today to see if it was something I could pickup in person in spite of "In transit At local FedEx facility, Package is not yet available for pickup." but nah, it's a warehouse, not even a front office.]

Plugged it in to the wall to make sure it works, then promptly started disassembling.

Argh.. iPad linking sucks.

Short version..

Chimei innolux V500DK2-CKS2 tcon, 2 80pin ribbons

Panel specs look comparable with the new Seiki Pro 40 but this one is 106ppi vs 111ppi on the Seiki. Guess its down to the circuit boards.

pbassjunk, how's it looking @ 60hz? Do the 4:4:4 test images show a lot of fringing? How about the input lag? (panel should be a few ms quicker than the Seiki Pro one)

This is only $290 at TigerDirect after coupon and rebate. I wish I knew if it could 4:4:4 color.

Holy $150 shipping!

It's $80 for me.. the store is in Alanta. Shipping is base on distance.

Yeah I figured as much. I was going to cancel my Quasar order but after I saw the $150 shipping, that wasn't going to happen. Nice deal though for those that live close.

Mine arrives Monday. Ill post my observations once its up and running.

just read your original post. You did said Monday.. I thought you already had it. My bad :(

No worries. I get the TV sometime Monday afternoon. Ill post a mini review and try to answer any questions once its up.

i would be surprised if any of the above TVs are indeed capable of 4:4:4 4K@60Hz, when all the low-end TVs from LG and Shamesung are not.

Got the screen. At first boot it came in at 4K 30Hz. I had to manually set it to 60hz in the Nvidia control panel. Screen is glossy.
