PSU for P182?

Hi all...
After flip-flopping for months I finally bought a Antec P182 case.
I need advice on which is a good PSU to fit in the case.
Requirements unless convinced otherwise:
1) No gaming but 24 inch monitor (probably Dell 2408?)
2) ATI 3850 Passive cool Video (stab in the dark here will ask about this in the Video forum)
3) Will 600 watts be enough? (Thinking of SeaSonic for quiet)
4) Prefer modular cables for airflow and neatness
What do you experts think/advise? Thanks.

Does the 550 have modular cables?

Go with the Cosair 520, it has modular cables, and its manfactured by Seasonic. The Corsair 550 is a CWT built PSU.
 
I've got a P180 case for my server, and have just put a Tagan TG400-U3 in, which fitted with no problems, although it doesn't have modular cables it does have a good range of connectors (2 4 pin PCI-E, plents of SATA, 8/4 and 20/24 pin mobo connectors, the higer wattage PSUs have more connectors). and all the cables are long enough to fit They are also all shielded in mesh which makes threading them through the various holes much easier. (Although I would assume most good PSUs have this these days?)

It's powering a Athlon 3800+ dual core, with a passivly cooled AGP card, and 6 HDs (oh, and a couple of nic's too.) All my PCs have Tagen PSUs and I've been very happy with them. (The previous PSU in the server was a Tagan, which died due to bad capacitors after 3 years of 24/7 use. The issues with bad caps that affected a lot of manufactorers a few years ago is well understood, so I've had no problem buying them again. Good, heavy, solid PSUs. :)

Oh, also be careful with modular cables in the P182, if the modular connector extends too far out of the back of the PSU it can foul the fan in the bottom bay; although I believe this can be removed.
 
My Corsair HX620W in a P182 needed an 8-pin extension cable to get the cable running round the back of the motherboard - I couldn't comfortably get it there otherwise.

However, I didn't have any major problem with cables fouling the fan, you just have to be careful and make sure that none are too near the fan before you turn it on. The HX620 and presumably HX520 are standard ATX size power supplies, as far as I'm aware, not extra-long.
 
Got a Coolermaster Real Power Pro 750w for $59 AR from microcenter last month, it gets behind the mobo to everything, including the 4pin cpu plug. Not modular, but for the price and performance, i'm not complaining about tucking a few wires in empty spots in my case..
 
Can anyone confirm that the Corsair 550VX is a CWT design? Isn't that the manufacturer of those crappy Antec SmartPower 2 units???

It is a CWT and yes it was the manufacturer of those crappy Antec SP units. However, it wasn't the fault of CWT that the Smartpower were so bad. It was Antec since they were the ones that chose and selected the features and specifications of those PSUs.

The 550VX is actually just as good as the Seasonic 520HX:
