PS3 vs 360. Which is better?

Well in the end it doesnt really matter. After the recent Bannings MS did, the 360 isnt worth but $50 or so... (Despite the fact mine isnt banned, nobody will trust me if I Sell it) so I'll be selling my PS3 with an arseload of extras (AVI, Component + HDMI cables, sealed-new-in-box accessories, etc). Keep an eye open for it soemtime at the end of next week. *still hoping to get a job so I ca keep it*

What all do you have with it?

What all do you have with it?

The PS3 (duh) with the Component cables (never used) the HDMI cable (never used) the AVI cables (never used), an extra fan (never used) the BluRay Media Remote (sealed in package from Walmart), the Sixaxis controller (Sealed in package from Walmart), a Bluetooth headset (Sealed in Package), All original PS3 inserts (main manual, supplimental (french?) manual, and even ESRB flier), a 2-controller charging station, and, of course, the power cord. Might-or-might-not include the PS3 game "LittleBigPlanet" - I plan to buy anotehr PS3 eventually and I really love the looks of that game (that's right, I never played it --- no controller, it's still sealed in the original box!)

I have a 2nd Media Remote I bought off eBay for my PC (and it works beautifully) that I re-assugned to the PS3, and I've since used it for Netflix and streaming from my home server. Nothing else. It's only been used since Tuesday, so it's basically brand new (and in pristine condition!)

Oh yeah, I have the original SONY invoice too indicating that it's STILL UNDER WARRENTY!

Well if it's in all that shape you might as well just take it back to Wal Mart, dude! They'll accept it! :)

lol. I didnt buy it from there.

I bought a PS3 60gb "fatty" off eBay. It died on me (arrived dead) and I send it to sony to be replaced. They sent me the PS3 120gb Slim. (keep in mind it took Sony a MONTH to recieve/locate my 60gb and send me back the Slim) From there we have less than a week till now when I'm getting things together to sell it...

Oh, right, you mentioned that. It's late, I get airheady after midnight :D

You could invite them in and show that your xbox is not banned, but that will only work for local sells.

Well, there's also the fact that I have an arseload of Xbox/360 games. If I were going to sell it, I'd first have to trade those for their PS2/3 equivolents and several of them are exclusives. (I'm honestly better off keeping the 360 as long as it doesnt RROD on me. Though maybe I should buy an extra fan for it to try and extend it's life...)

I also could probably use a Youtube video since its much harder to spoof those than single images.

If you are ok doing without for about a month, I think RRODs are still totally covered by Microsoft, won't cost you anything. I have had the bad luck of being pretty much the only person I know to get a RROD on a 360, and I was pretty ticked about it when it happened. That said, Microsoft sent me the box and the tickets to mail it to them. About a month later I got a new 360, some free Gold time, and MS points in the mail. I didn't even have to talk to anyone. Just filled out a form on their website. I was impressed since it was way out of warranty (launch system). I mean it is still lame that the issue exists, it really shouldn't. It is also lame that they took so long to admit to it, but at least now they seem to be making good.

actually, I have a PS3 slim, and it doesn't run really cool at all. In fact, it runs rather warm.

That said, this thread can be summed up thusly:

NEITHER. Xbox 360 and PS3 have IDENTICAL games, and neither will ever, EVER differentiate its game graphics to such an extent that you'll wish you had the other system instead.

360's were unreliable at launch--today they are fine.

PS3's had more features at launch--today they are slimmer and more attractive.

BOTH consoles are worth owning, and hey, you can actually get BOTH today for less than the price of a launch PS3. So count yourself lucky, skip the flamewar, and enjoy.
Probably the best post i have ever read on this subject...

Because its true... IT DOSNT MATTER the damn hardware is different.. the games are pretty much the same. Only a few select titles are exclusive...

What matters is, what your friends play... do they all have Xbox's? Get an xbox.... and vise versa... No one likes to be the only one of the gang without their consol, and then saying, "blah blah blah, its because the hardware is way more supperior..." shut up... get what you feel will be more fun.

If you want my honest opinion, i see values in both systems, i for one like the PS controller more, and the free internet gaming... But when it comes to what people most likly have, there are WAY more people at my work that have Xboxs.

So, again, it comes down to values... Not which one has better hardware, because they are the same!!... You wont see one game play better on the other....

Ebay + Paypal + guarantee it isn't banned = buyer protection.

Also, those who were banned deserved it; mod the xbox you violate the EULA...you get what you deserve.

I agre about 90% I think you should be allowed hardware mods like adding ram (if that's possible) adding a larger HD, maybe a faster DVD drive. Basically anything that doesnt affect your abiltiy to cheat or pirate. Anything that's added for piracy value, yes, I have noproblem with them being banned.

I picked up a Xbox 360 Jasper refurb with 2 wireless controllers and 20gb HD for $200 from Game Stop and haven't quit playing it since. I did buy a $5 HDMI cable to connect it to my tv though.

The thing that kept me from buying a PS3 was Price and the fact that i didnt feel i needed a Blu-Ray player at all since netflix is starting to stream in HD and normal DVD's play just fine.

360....better games.

Missing out on Halo and Gears for Socom and God of War isn't worth saving $50 a year.

I bought the PS3 on release and it has been a gigantic disappointment for me as a game system. If I played games once in awhile and watched a ton of movies then yeah, the PS3 would be better. The problem is I want to play games for fun, so I own all 3 systems. I get the best of all worlds and keep my Netflix account active. I would recommend it to any serious gamer, it gives you a whole new view on things.
