Hey Ockie, had to bug ya, how is your main machine coming? I know you were thinking about a worklog, but if you don't have time, at least let me know you are doing.... I get so into working with hardware i missed some good lan parties last weekend, and you always have interesting ideas on your projects.......:)

Oh, it's pretty much done, not much going on here.

Kinda waiting for the QX6700 quad core, right now just running a 6300 oced to about 3.19... running very strong

As for the rest, installed a pair of 8800gtx'es on a 680i motherboard

Nothing fun like galaxy I'd say :)

Yeah, you know that's cool....JUST running a E6300.

I'm just running a 2.8 Prescott myself. Yep. Keeps me nice and warm though...Antec 900 exhausts all that heat into meh room. :D

I was gaming last night, and noticed my room, after about 6 hours straight of gaming, was getting quite hot. In fact, I had COD2 crash on me a few times, I think related to my 8800gtx overheating...

I need to run a tube from my Antec 900 to my window, to expel all heat outside!

Nooooo! Don't contribute to global warming :p

If I closed the room door it's a matter of hours before the place gets incredibly hot.

As for the link of that PSU plate, that is the incorrect one. I'm actually suprised they released that one way before the dual psu one. But anyways, it's the wrong one :(

Also, as for the bracket on galaxy, it's still being worked on. Tons of technicalities made the bracket a PITA to produce and the guy is still working on it. Nicepants is trying to get the part produced but he explained that they need to manually program the machines to cut it out and thats why there is so much time being consumed :(

I'm hoping to see something soon here as I'm getting desperate.

Hank at Performance PCs told me they are expecting all of the accessories in this week.
Might check if you're not still boycotting them.

You can tell hank to read this thread. I still have not heard any follow-up or anything from them so I can confidently say that I wont support them.

To the OP, this might be a long shot but theres a company Jaton corp that apparently is the US distributor for the Lian Li cases and they have the dual PSU bracket that you are looking for.

Part Number:
P/N : CCPSU2ATX

I saw two power supply plates on the site. One is for redundant power supplies and the other is for two ATX power supplies. What is the difference between the two setups?

redundant power supplies can be switched without turning off the computer

Pretty much what he said. With a redundant setup you have 2 or more power supplys running together. One fails the other takes over. Depending on the setup a lot of times they hook into a back plane and can be removed without shuting down the system as long as one is running ok.

GodDAMN look at all those SATA cables!!!

What OS are you running? Can Windows Server even recognize 30 drives?

Most of the sata cables you can't even see :)

Runing Windows Server 2003.

Yes, the drive issue is a road bump, but I'll get around it. You can only have a max of 26 drives in a machine as standalone drives, to get around this I can JBOD a couple of drives or I can use some raid functionality and bind them as one drive letter.

So the drive letters won't be much of an issue as I only need to compensate for 4 drives :) I think most likley that the last 5 drives that goes in will be JBOD.

I need thier telephone number or some direct contact as I have sent emails out to everyone who reviewed that case/plate, and sent out emails to everyone who claims to have it coming... and the only response I've recieved was from frozencpu.com

Can't you assign double drive letters? Or is this only for network drives that you can do this?

Explain? I've never seen double letters implimented so that would be interesting...

I've never ran this many single drives so I have no idea what to expect really, I was really hoping it would bump to AA:, AB:, AC:... etc or at least go to roman numerals such as I: II: III: ... etc.

Worst comes to worst, you can always mount them as folders on another drive.

Yes, that was a last ditch idea if all else fails.

Edit: Thinking about it now, it mountvol might actually come in quite useful when it comes to permissions and keeping things grouped ...hmmm.. I'll play with it.

i think mountvol is the way to go short of raid or jbod. Ockie, i cannot even think of having that much data with out raid 5, i only have 2tb, but I keep all mine in raid 5 or 1, i guess it is all what you store, but you were planning on getting some good raid controllers, so then it would not be hard to set raid up. I have rarely had hdds go bad, but that is not to say it cannot happen. Whats your luck with hdds?

Yea.. I was thinking RAID 5 would be great for him. Sure its a bit less storage, but its recoverable if one of those 30 hard drives fails (thats a lot of failure availability if you ask me).

That is what I was referring to, but after looking at Computer Management, it seems you cannot go past 24 letters (A and B are reserved).
