I like it more with the head facing the back of the case personally.

i'd think so too, but you could do up a pic with it facing the other way, and see what you like better. it is your case, after all.

Ok well i went to walmart and spent 98 dollars! i bought sand paper (shoulda gotten a variety pack), spray paint (6 cans), some dremel bits (carbide cutter and diamond set), sanding block, bondo, screws and some other stuff i cant remeber, id get a pick but im too lazy

Soooo anyways i started to cut my dragon window

i only cut that much so far, my discs arent small enough yet

*UPDATE*

KK i cut the body of the dragon

I also did the tail and started some of the head, but no pics of it, i also sanded down my bondoed bezel but when i took a dremel to it, it ripped the bondo off. Does it matter if the bezel is really roughed up? cuz ya it got sanded too, but thats good so the paint can stick to it right?

anyways thats all for now, hopefully i can finish at least the dragon tomorow

cut the tail and most of the head

im gonna finish the head later today and maybe finish the arms (doubt it)

and i think ill call it chrome dragon? sounds like its been done though

i cut out the head and one whole arm and half of another, but the head i screwed up on so i bondoed, and ill fix it tomorow when its dry, no pics right now, ill upload em tomorow

Yup finished the head (sorta) and started an arm and got one done

but it looked funky cuz the whiskers? on the dragons chin were too dam big so i bondoed and im gonna try it again

i'd recommend trying a small file for that rather than a dremel. more controllable, etc. it'll probably be easier that way. lookin' good, though.

dam my dremel is diein!!!!!!!!!!!

At least i think it is, when i first turn it on, at speed 1 it barely moves, and as i turn the speed up it takes a while for it to get up to speed. I was trying to cut (highest speed) and it wouldnt be able to keep it constant. It would jerk and stuff and i dont even think it was running at max speed. So is it dieing or what?

How much are what dremel multipros? im using my dads craftsman rotary tool, and it works better than my dremel, its alot quieter, and all the attachments i have (flex shaft and that one guide thingy) are for it so ya but my dads gonna want me to buy a new dremel so ya.

i'd have to say yes, unfortunately. mine did that before it died. i still haven't gotten a new one.

if you have all the stuff, you can get a basic variable speed one to take its place for ~$40. if you don't, i'd guess around $100. at lowes, anyways.

if you're planning on cutting lots of metal with it (more case modding etc.) you may want to consider a heavier duty one, maybe something bench mounted. crimsonsky linked one place in his doom3 worklog. i just don't feel like digging it up out of 40+ pages. IIRC, those started around $100-$150. but they'll last longer.

HAHAHA i bid last night (12 hours left) and i put 33 as my max, came home from school to see if i won. What do ya know i lost, some guy won it for 40 bucks. So ii was sad sorta. Then i checked my e-mail a few minutes later and i got an ebay e-mail. It said the guy who won couldnt pay or somethin so it was like 2nd chance offer or somethin, either the guy couldnt pay or the seller had a duplicate item. But anyways i read the e-mail, it said its available for purchase at 33 bucks, so i was like meh, i cant go over that, then i saw BUY IT NOW!!!!!!! so i was like SH*T and rushed over and bought it lol. Now i gotta pay and ship it to my friends house wooot!

Very nice, if it wouldn't look so tacky with the rest of the mods I have planned for my Lian-Li I'd think about throwing a PSOne LCD in my floppy bays in the front of the case, but I don't think it'd fit.

KK heres from like 3-4 days ago or so

My re-done psx controller port

My door of my bezel, i think ill hot glue the mesh there

Now the dragon is complete (besides sanding it down so its not sharp and making the boy a bit rounder)

so does that mean you're gonna eat a lot?

i think the psx interface would work better if it was mounted slightly farther forwards so the controller connector stuck out some. that way you wouldn't be pulling on the cable to get it out everytime, potentially breaking it.

for the bottom window... flames? i dunno... maybe just a big open thing, then etch flames in the plexi.

*Update*

ok well i can get a mirror finish pretty easily, just sand, and then use rubbing compound. you can still see scratches that im guessing is because i used 80 grit sand paper lol, but u gotta be upclose to see em, and its still pretty foggy, i guess because i emphasized sanding more on the middle part

heres some pics

now i only did that little section, i WOULD LOVE to do this to my whole case (but paint the bezel because u cant polish that) BUTTTTTT!!!!!! i used BONDO!!!!!!!! dammit, i used it on the mouth of the dragon and obviously i cant get a mirror finish on that section then. So i have to paint it dammit. It sucks cuz painting will take like 2 weeks. Sanding that lil section to look like that took 30 minutes, and its around the same quality asside from the scratches, but thats because i used 80 grit sand paper dammit!!!

man im sad now that i gotta go paint it

you could paint the top part, and have it fade to a mirrored part or put a sharp transition shape of some sort.

Paint it metallic flake silver, then paint and clearcoat it with a mirror finish. Same rules apply to doing that. Primer, sand, primer, sand, paint, sand, paint, sand, paint, clearcoat, sand, clearcoat, rubbing cmpd. Do that making sure to wetsand as opposed to dry.

KK well i cut my side panel up, i guess im done with it (other side panel)

Cut my 120mm blow hole for the cpu

As you can see the blow hole doesnt match up with the hole on the mobo tray

i was retarded and the hole on the tray i didnt measure right, so im just gonna widen the hole on the tray as much as i can. So ill have a big useless hole on my mobo tray

Anybody know how to hook it up to a molex without buying the Sony car adapter? could i use this thing?

So i could attach the part youd plug into the cell phone to the lcd, and what just cut off the cigarette lighter plug and attach a molex?? wouldnt that just be a straight connection to the psu?

edit: BTW the screen isnt hooked up to vga yet, i just hooked it up through composite using the composite cable thing from my camera

Do the 7v molex mod. Little bit less than what the LCD uses, but it should still work, plus it'll avoid making you have that bulky-ass car adapter in your case.

Mod is easly as hell, just use the 12v line for power and the 5v line for ground.

Are you SURE (POSITIVE, 100%) sure that the lcd wont fuk up due to having only 7 volts rather than 7.5?

i was thinking this but im not so sure, i was just gonna mount the adapter at the very top of the case and solder on an extension cord type thing to it, but id like to hook it to the psu
