problem with chemist_slime

wow.. what a bag of shit for CS.. sorry to read this thing.. it caught my eye cause I knew CS was not a troll or anything.. I was like "wtf.... over?". memory is one of those touchy items which will work fine when removed and can sometimes act up in other systems also.. PITA! anyways.. I hope you get one of the memeory sets back soon.

And to TheGoog, if you are reading this in cowardly hiding, don't be a punk ass. DO THE RIGHT THING! return one of the sets ASAFP.

Hey ya'll, not the greatest thread to be reading right now, but be rest assured that I am planning on doing the 'right thing'. I am in all honesty about 2 1/2 hours out from my home right now and I wont be able to go back til lthe 18th as I am working 7 days a week. However as soon as I get back that Patriot RAM will be finding itself in the postal system on the way to chemist_slime.

I don't think i was necessarily talking shit about him, I just got a bit jiterry because the worst thing that can happen is that someone doesnt reply, and I wasnt given any notice that the replacement ram had shipped. I think thats somewhat understandable.

Anyways, ruining any trading reputation is not high on my priority list. So no need to get anyones undies in a bunch :)

I thought I would give everyone an update. The Goog said he would get back on the 18th, on the 21st he sent me the following:

Just got back home today. Room-mate says he recieved two packages for me, and I was able to find one, but the package that was the memory cant seem to be found. We just had a dispute with one of the roomies however, and think he may have jetted with it as he knew I was expecting it. If that's the case, and we can';t find it anywhere in the house, Would a paypal cashback be a feasible option?


What else is there for me to do?
 
I don't know what else you can do... is he offering a full refund?

did you manually set the timming to 2 2 2 5? with my ocz 2225 i would get errors at 2.5 2225 so that kinda shit might cause it.. doesnt sound like hes a troll unless he knew the ram was bad ahead of time..

I am sure he has his own reasons why he can't be online.
I would try to contact him in every way possible and then report this to a mod if he still doesn't respond.

Ok, the guy is clearly messing around and is lying. If the mods can somehow do something about his. Perhaps block his IP, name or something that'd be great to prevent anyone else from getting scammed by this piece of shit worth of a person. If ever in the future I go up to Canada, I'd be sure to pay him a visit. A nice one. :D

i would not have sent him anything untill i got the first set of ram back seems like a weird scam and could be partly true or just what he does.. here is his last post doesnt look good

i had some patriot ram i sold once. i didn't memtest it but it worked fine, i played games for 10+ hours straight, I burned lots of dvd's. it was the 2.5-3-3-8 ram, 2 gig 3200 kit. i'm not sure why i didn't test it but i knew it worked good. anyways the buyer was ok with it and i sold it for about 120 or so. about a month or 2 later the seller opens a thread saying one of the sticks is making memtest errors, yet he can still play video games, FEAR of all games, ok... ? wtf.

anyways the guy tried to rma them but said patriot wanted a recepit of some kind. i had bought the ram ironically from another seller (and i used the ram for awhile but i upgraded to the current 2 gig gskill ddr500 ram i have now). i couldn't get ahold of the original seller but i find it suspicious that patriot wouldn't rma without a recepit. seagate rma'ed a drive i bought from someone on these forums without a recepit. any ideas on this?

do lifetime warranty things like ram need a recepit? or just a serial #?

Time for you to return the memory you owe CS - both sets - along with any cash you might owe as a result of the transaction. Better yet, why not make good on your Anand deal(s) as well? You want to get back in good graces, do it quickly.

After reading through his thread on anand and here, id just chalk it up to a learning experience. Hes ripped off many it looks like so.... Not sure why nobody has caught him but...

This is exactly why I try not to deal with any "noobie" members. He had "noobie" status when you traded with you and he had only been around for a short while. Doesnt look like he had much if any heat either. This is what heat is for.

Anyways, a learning experience. Life goes on right.

Be very cautious trading with any newly joined members with no heat. Or at least get a phone number and call them to confirm.
 
I traded with him some months ago, and feel duped for having done so. His Heatware has three transactions, of which mine was the first. It looks like he was trading with established members in order to make himself seem more legitimate; I feel like an accessory, having used my own reputation to establish his.

I can't begin to express how sorry I am, Chemist. Things may look bleak, but I always have faith in the universe- I don't believe in karma per se, but I do believe that a person's attitude determines the course of his life. You'll get your refund through some unexpected channel, and he'll be appropriately screwed somewhere down the road. I can foresee his dishonesty costing him a job.
