Pretty messed up

agreed

I go in next week for surgery, they say I should only be out for a day MAX, cause it will be done exactly like the conlonoscopy was except this time theres a laser with the camera!

Best of luck to you. I never knew you could even catch colon cancer at such a young age, but you have to play the hand that has been dealt in the game of life.

Glad to hear that they caught it early enough. I believe our friend Beekeeper is also having surgery for colon cancer.

Surgery went well, had it yesterday in the early AM.

I am currently sitting in bed with my laptop, chilling away with some fresh green tea the wife made this morning and homemade oatmeal with white toast with some extra "pills" ready to be taken to deal with some discomfort and pain...

I am no longer allowed to drink coffee at this point in time, due to its wonderful abilities as a diaretic.... ehhhh....

Thats fine though, I should be drinking more tea anyway!

I have to now start a more healthy life style as well.

/me stares at this lunch plan for the rest of this week and suggested plans for the future beyond.

Needless to say, I will miss coffee and my wifes homemade taco's of awesomeness for quite a while :(

Anywho, I will spend the next few days recovering from this (its more discomfort more than pain really), so I get to stay in bed and play minecraft while drugged up!

I am happy to hear that your surgery went well.

Best wishes for a quick recovery.

It is good to hear that your surgery went well.

Drugged up minecraft. Sounds fun. :)

Glad to hear that everything went well, but i'm worried about you having to deal with a modified diet for a while as that sounds more painful than the operation itself. For me, it would literally be the end of the world considering that i'm a person who loves all my food spicey and hot.

I hear that World of Warcraft is a good type of game for people in your situation considering that it is now free to play to lvl 20 or something.

Be well, and i wish you a speedy recovery!

Thank you for the comments all.

So far so good, 2 days out and im starting to feel a little better. Didnt take any meds this morning cause the pain is a little more tolerable than it was last night.

I will not play WoW at all, I played it for 2 years previously and almost got a divorce because of it (yeah, it was that hard to stop playing it). So WoW is a no go, and for that matter any mmo. I get to much into them when I play.

I play games like LoL cause I can quit after an hour and not feel like jumping back in, or MineCraft cause I can invest any time I want at any moment.

I am back at work for the rest of this week (only today and tomorow).

And back to uploading my news on youtube as well, YAY (HelloHardware)

But I will keep everyone posted as to otherwise as well!

Wow back to work already? You sure are a trooper!

I suppose you could also give other games a try such as blowing the dust off of Sim City 4, Cities XL 2011, or even pulling out your old copy of SimTower on CD.

Only a trooper cause my boss said I can be lazy at work, I just need to monitor network use for these 2 days and thats it. So I sit in my big comfy chair which I have in lazy mode. Wife packaged me up some Earl Grey this morning instead of coffee, so I can have me some form of a pick me up without all the nasty side effects or bathroom usage.

Im really starting to enjoy drinking tea, there are sooooo many flavors and choices for tea. I had alot of Green-tea yesterday, some Earl Grey, some Chai tea..... All good stuff.

If you are a tea addict like I am, then there is only ONE brand you should concern yourself with as I consider this to be the best easily obtainable tea in the world. You should definately try NUMI brand tea which is available at any Whole Foods(formerly Wild Oats) Hippie grocery store. This is some good stuff, and my favorite is the jasmine green tea and the puhr mint and green tea.

Checkup #1 went well.

Nothing new, nothing old.

So far so good!

Glad to hear it. Keep up the healthy living and get weller soon :)

Glad to hear, but how much longer will it be before you'll be able to go back to slathering hot sauce on food?

That might be a while.

I am not allowed to eat my favorite foods atm, these include;

Tacos
Jalepeno Poppers
Chili

pretty much all mexican food and jamaican foods =[ Which sux cause my wife is Puerto Rican and makes some of the best foods known to man but there all spicy in some way. Anything that can set my stomach off is a bad move right now really.

So my regiment is easy

Teas, all the time
oatmeal or a modest cereal for breakfast, can do eggs, but no bacon due to grease or sausage due to spice.
lunch can be any kind of deli meat aside from pastrami, which sux, cause thats my favorite deli meat...
Dinner is nothing, =[ I just eat my own liver until im allowed to eat my wifes cooking again. j/k, I can eat, just cant eat any above items.

I may be exagerating SOME of the food items, but in reality in comes down to, if it sets my stomach off, I need to stay away from it at least for 2 more months.

Wow, that would probably kill me as I love spicy and strong foods. I wish you the best as this is probably harder to deal with than the actual operation for food lovers.

Grease sets your stomach off too?

What about a good burger or rotisserie chicken and stuff like that?

Add pizza to my list and the items you listed.

Anything with greese really, which, in all honesty, is just about everything.

There are some natural based oils im not even allowed to touch (like seasame seed oil)

That right there would kill me as I absolutely love sesame seed oil.

I feel sorry for you dude.

I cook alot of Thai food and Indian food, and you would be amazed at how much food from both cultures use alot of natural based oils.

Thai food, half of my cuisine choices include sesame seed oil. It is totally killer when I have to sit there and not cook with it =[

On a side note, I did make some chicken satays last night with some organic POS wanna-be oil substitute that was rather depressing. But the satay still came out rather edible thanks to my peanut sauce creation!

Well, hopefully it won't be too long before you can start eating that stuff again. For a food lover, it sounds like you are already in hell right now.

If you took hot sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, other oils, and fried chicken away from me, I probably wouldn't know what to do.

So far so good at this point. Had a few meetings with the doctor since my last posting. Had a scare about a month ago with some bleeding but it was something different that ended up being a bacteria, which has since been destroyed.

I got to start eating spicy foods again, so in celebration I made some Habachi Chicken with thai chili white sauce.

OH YEAH!

Congrats man! I don't know how I personally would ever survive without my tobasco sauce. Like Ethel from the Franks Red Hot commercial, I put that $$$$ on everything.
