I love [H]'s...
Reviews overall. The powersupply ones are excellent and the video card ones are unique.
'Investigative journalism'. Phantom console and Commodore PC PR mails come to mind as I'm typing this, quality stuff.
Giveaways! When they happen anyways.

I hate [H]'s...
News. Well, I don't hate them, but it doesn't cover a lot of whats happening and I get my daily fix from other sources nowadays.
Sometimes biased views. The reviewers own personal opinion sometimes shines through in reviews and does cast doubt over it's validity.
Frontpage ads. They gave me a reason to use the AdBlock extension for Firefox.

The reason why I love the [H] is that you guys have always been a sterling example how to do hardware reviews (or evaluations), and in the past you guys have never steered me wrong.

With aplomb, [H] has always given your readers the truth about anything that you review (a good example being the Radeon 8500/Quake III "optimizations" article, that swayed me to get a GeForce 3 Ti instead), as well as pertinent or just otherwise interesting news that relates to the PC enthusaist.

Keep up the great work!

[H] rocks.

The reason I love your reviews is that you guys show for example how graphics cards perform in a real environment. It also shows the reaction of what happened when AA/AF is enable and the performance hit.

The highest playable settings really does help people decide when they purchase a videocard for a specific game and what to expect.

And who else has a main theme with the l33t red / black theme?????? :D:D

I like hardocp because it provides all my tech information in one place with out the bs that other places put in their reviews. Also the reviews go much deeper than other sites. Forums are quite nice too. I do miss H consumer though, I liked reading those reviews the most, not many other sites did those kind of reviews.

I like to remain as neutral as possible, so I neither love nor hate [H]ardOCP (although, lets say I love it just for the sake of this contest ;) ). I enjoy being able to view a large number of review sites, and while I may sometimes disagree with [H]'s opinion of what "highest playable settings" is, I appreciate having variety when it comes to hardware reviews as it allows me to form a better overall opinion of a product before I purchase it. One of my favorite aspects of [H]'s reviews are image quality comparisons, as they tend to be more useful than the comparisons I find on other sites in determining image quality difference between rendering modes and video card makes/models.

I lurk on these forums (just look at my post count vs registration date), but it's a great community and the For Sale/For Trade forum is second to none when it comes to second-hand hardware. Not to mention the fact that the large number of hardware enthusiasts that frequent the site make it a good place to get end-user opinions on products and recommendations.

And that's why I like this site.

It is really pretty simple. There have been many times when you reviewed something accurately, regardless of where ad money was coming. This makes me trust the reviews I read here.

I love [H] because of the sheer amount of input that you can get for a new build from one specific location. The amount of people that are online at a given time is huge and theres always someone who knows the exact answer that you are looking for for any question that you happen to ask.

[H] has the most unbiased, professional reviews of any site I use. The reviews always keep the "crap" to a minimum and focus on what matters without being "elitist-sounding." It's not always about "OMGFASTESTTHINGEVER," there's a focus on value rather than just raw power/speed.

The "real-world" approach to gameplay is especially nice, when you consider some sites slap up some average framerate graphs and call it a day.

I can always get help when I need it from the forums, and in general everyone is even-tempered (not to say that there aren't occasional flamewars).

I love the [H] because Kyle continues to reply to my e-mails even though
I've been trashing the weekend news guys lately. He offered me the job.
lol...Exactly how I would have replied. Beautiful and touche' Kyle.

Honestly? I love these guys because they love the Best of the Best.
My kind of people.

This is my digital "Home" I really like reading the real experience reviews and it's the only place I really trust for purchases. Part of [H] is the forum, which I always come here because I like the people. It's always interesting and the people are generally intellegent. Even the ones that can get a reader mad are interesting.

I like being part of this social group.

I love the site, it's my homepage and I'm always checking it for the latest in hardware news and reviews. The real performance testing is a breath of fresh air and really helps me in deciding what is right for my system. The forum though I have problems with. While it has proven to be a vital source for information many times, more often than not it's just people giving another poster a hardtime. I don't see why people can't be civil and just talk to one another on here.

I absolutely loath [H]ardocp. Hate it.
It's unbiased reviews make me sick. It's owner is some kind of right wing conservative nut job who believes in such disgustingly obsolete philosophies like journalistic integrity. The thought of it is actually making me barf a little. You dont want my money in exchange for good reviews? Fine. You can frankly take your honesty and shove it. Go broke for all I care; I'll take my money and go to Tom's. Good day to you sir.

i love the [H] and visit several times a day. the front page news is updated very quickly, and most of all reviewers speak their mind while keeping a very unbiased position. the testing is some of the most in depth there is on the net today, so i can always count on an 'educated' opinion. reviews are always very polished, if they're not they get held back and i've never seen another site do that. the [H] has always been able to back their opinions with evidence and you guys have always stood up for your opinions and what you believe in. rock on! having some of the best laid out forums that is extremely well moderated don't hurt either;)

the only thing i don't like is that HSF reviews are scarce, water cooling even less so and monitor reviews nonexistent. i kind of miss the full system reviews, but to many of us including myself they didn't have any impact our purchases anyways.

I love [H]ard|Forum because the community of people here are great. When you have a tough question, someone is always there with an answer. Problems rarely go unsolved once they are submitted to be grilled on [H]ard|Forum, and our grill is much better than George Foreman's.

People can also come to share their new PC build ideas to help others. When we collaborate together before a build takes place, the person building the computer gets a better idea where their money is best spent. i.e. "bang for the buck". This is just one of the many great philosophies [H]ard|Forum is known for.

Love [H]ard

You guys give very thorough unbiased reviews.
There is always a little humor thrown in the articles and news.
The forums are full of information.
If someone is having warranty or RMA problems, you guys, or the reps on the board are always right there to help.
The forums are split up into useful sections.
The Folding@Home team (yay for philanthropy)
You guys actually listen to the people who visit your site (like this thread)
its [H]ard!

Hate [H]ard

I've spent alot of money since joining
On the graphics card reviews, it would be nice to see a comparison of the cards all running the same settings, in addition to the current max playable settings.
I feel strangely addicted to [H]ard, and have to get my daily fix.
Those stupid little Vibrant ad things that take over words in peoples posts and turn them into little pop ups...

The love out ways the hate, so I look forward to seeing if any changes come from people's constructive criticism.

[H]ardOCP is the one I return to because I know I can get the performance information in a manner that hides nothing and will have all that I need to make an informed decision.

I like the reviews on [H]. No other site has better reviews, especially for power supplies. I like the forums, they are informative and entertaining. I hate the fact that the database craps out at inopportune moments. I hate the CPU-hogging Newegg banners (although I do buy stuff from them from time to time). Overall I like more than I hate because I keep coming back.

1.) I love [H] because it has promoted the truth since its inception. That is why I signed up many years ago.

2.) I hate [H] when the forums are down. I still have not found a way to cope with my withdrawal problems. I'm a "bear" as my wife puts it. Any suggestions are welcome.

I love the [H] because the people here (mostly) know what they are talking about! I can get quality helpful advice quickly. The admin staff works their tails off to ensure people that do not belong here, aren't here as well as making sure we have an up-to-date and responsive forum to play on.

I remember my first time here. It was on my friends computer back in 2000 (freshman year of h.s.) and I was instantly hooked. Its been my homepage since. The reviews the news and all of the information I've gathered from them has helped me get jobs and just create and expand my love for computers. Let's not get started on those forums. They've saved me and other people more times than the measly 200 posts I've put up since I've finally gotten some money to take part in it. Don't go away [H] otherwise I'll be greeted with a blank page :(

Since I stumbled across the [H] back in '99 it's been a Love / Hate relationship from the get go. The reviews have grown from running the numbers to "what you can expect", there has always been a "pull no punches" attitude, and on occasion could have been toned down a bit and been more effective. I don't always agree with what and how things are said in a review or article, but can always appreciate the time and resources put into it.
The community that has been build around this place we call the [H] is amazing in itself. We have the “fanbois” spouting off, the n00bs asking the same questions we all asked at one time, good advice being given (yes, it actually happens), bad advice being called out, and that which was then insanity known as GM is now a new version – still insane, but with the walls a bit more padded. It's like one big dysfunctional family that one minute is at each other's throats, and the next pulling together and raising money for a great cause.
Perfect? No
Honest? Yes

I actually love |H|ard|OCP. I came from TomsHardware a month or so ago, and i spent so much more time here than at tomshardware.com. Their site updates every so often; you guys update constantly, with the Hotdeals, and all the reviews. Sure, i could find all these reviews and deals and news by myself, but you guys actually have it in one easy place. I especially like the Hotdeals you guys occasionally post, I'm still building my comp and they're really useful o.o

I love the [H] because out of all of the tech sites out there who have sold-out over the past twenty some years, the [H] continues to offer unbiased, informative and realistic reviews of new products and tech on or coming-to the market. Not only that but the [H] manages to do it all with a bit of sarcasm, quick-wit and/or humor.

I hate the [H] because... well, I don't [H]ate it at all. :) I guess that if I had to pick one thing it wouldn't really be the staff, rather some members of the forum. I've been guilty of being overly-opinionated on more than one occasion myself but some here really take the cake. Hehe

and I don't read it often enough.
[H] PSU reviews are hardcore. If I really want to know which PSU I can run to max rating I don't need to look further.

[H] game reviews offers good side-by-side dx9 and dx10 comparisons. [H] has made up my mind that dx10 and Vista are bullpies and I shouldn't bother with it for now.

[H] reviews in general are one of the more balanced ones around. Usually I can sense Intel/AMD slant around, but if I wanted a give-it-to-me-straight review, [H] would be a place for me to look.

I like [H] cause it reminds me of the good old days when I was OCing a P3-667 or a Duron 700.

I love how [ H ] used to fill people in on what the best CPU/Motherboard combination to get for ultimate overclocked bang for the buck deals. I love how they used to test different voltages, check out what wattage power supplies were needed for it, what kind of cooling the hobbyist on a budget would need to get 110 - 150% of the stock clocked performance out of a chip.

I love how [ H ] used to benchmark the hell out of video cards pre and post overclock settings and show the timedemo results, not because people expected to get the same frame rate results in game play as on the demos, but because the framerates from the demos allowed people to compare cards directly against eachother. It also allowed people at home to run the same test and see how their own machines compared to the new things coming out.

I love how [ H ] used to be all about the hardware and the overclocking.

I hate how [ H ] is so political. Bashing lawmakers & ESRB enforcement, RIAA, phantom consoles, linking law suite after law suite after law suite, about who is suing who over licensing or copyright infringements.

I love how case modding used to be about functionallity. Increasing heat disperssion, decreasing noise. Tweaking systems to run as fast and/or efficiently as possible.

I hate how case modding is now all about form, with colored lighting, smoke generators, and plexi glass everywhere.

I loved when [ H ] used to be simple links to reviews, mods, OC/tweak guides. Now there's so many banners, and text links inserted into the reviews and even the occasional pop up overlay tied into the banner that the site is rediculous and sometimes painful to scan over.

The main reason I love [H] is quite simple... You cannot find a better hardware community/knowledge-base anywhere on the web. When I have a hardware issue the first place I look is here to see if I can find a solution. When I wanna buy a new product I come here to find out what other [H] have felt about the products. I read hardocp and enjoy the opinions but I value the communities imput far more.

This community is top notch and better then most multinational companies tech departments.

Cheers!

I love [H]ardOCP because . . .

1. Great forums and community. The For Sale/Trade section is superb, I've sold a ton of things on there. All of the subsections are really cool and I like to pass the time by looking at pics of other people's rigs and tech goodies! :D Last but not least, the community here is pretty good. Some people can be arseholes but for the most part, people around here are pretty helpful. Thanks to [H] for bringing us all together through the forums.

2. Reviews are just simply honest. [H] isn't one of those sites that things everything is the best thing since sliced bread just because somebody paid them to do so. Also the reviews are highly in depth, readers like myself like detail.

3. Articles are very well written and thought of. I'd have to say that the 30 days with Ubuntu was probably the best write up [H] has ever done.

I hate [H]ardOCP because . . .

1. Trolls and Fanbois. You really can't go anywhere on the net today and NOT find these people. There are some here that will threaten you if you make fun of Vista or IE. There are others who are downright rude when someone new asks a simple question.

2. Article Archive. It can't be a little frustrating trying to find older articles/benchmarks sometimes.

3. Some contests . . . I never win!!!! :(

PM me and I will give you my address so you can send that CPU over this way . . . :D

I love the [H] because it provides me with a centralized source for technology information. From gaming to home theater, I can come here and find something to at least help me get started. Reviews, forum opinions...they all help me make decisions that are important to me...'cause I don't wanna waste my money...nobody helps me to keep stackin' the cheese like [H] :D

You're not afraid to have an opinion and be honest about sharing it.

[H] reviews are the kind of info you'd get over beer and wings with a buddy who actually knows what he's talking about.

[H]ardOCP gives by far the best reviews on hardware. I can always count on you guys for honest reviews and good buying advice. You also have the best group of followers.

One thing I am not fond of is when I click on the Title of a story, It brings me to a new page with no new information. Why? Why not to the source of the story? This link as of now seems pretty useless.

Things I love about [H] listed in no particular order.
1.
2.
3.
Things I hate, the colors black, red, and yellow

All joking aside [H] is one of the best hardware sites period, top three in my book.
Words that come to mind are fair, open and honest.
The only complaint is to much emphasis on higher end computer hardware.

This will be my best Holiday ever!

[H]OCP is my is the site i visit 10 times a day for games news and hotdeals.
AMD is the CPU maker that i used since my 200mmx PC died from Micron.

ps.. this 4200x2 will be handing down to my wife and my sons pc.

Thanks for the content.
Keep it going in 2008!

I guess I'm on the man love side of [H].. I started being a hardware enthusiast 6 or 7 years ago and the site was the first place I started reading regularly to get my fix of news and reviews. I'm not sure where I stand with this place. I still get the news daily and read all the reviews, but it's not gospel anymore. I read a bunch of other sites now too.

The reason I come to [H] nearly every day is because reviews are posted quickly and regularly, because your roundups help me decide where my money will go best to use, and because your review mentality of comparing "gameplay experience" makes better sense than most other review sites "apples-to-apples" comparisons!

And let's not forget free stuff!

Rock on [H]!

Love:
The active forums.
The DC subforum.
The accurate reviews that tell things how they are.

Hate:
That I read the front page and the forums all day long.
Could use more comparison in the benchmark graphs for video cards. How does this gen compare to last gen and the gen before that?

I must hate the [H] for 2 simple reasons.

1)The black, red, and yellow color scheme sticks out so blatently obvious when I am at work that I cannot pass it off as anything but personal use. The last time red and yellow worked well together, we all had snap on bracelets, jams, and listened to "mama said knock you out", and had those thermal t-shirts that always ended up looking pink.

2)I hate that the url has something that could resemble pornographic and I wait patiently for a day when corporate will call my boss and tell them to let me go because of "Hardforums".

Im running a 3800 here, help a man out.

I love [H] because it is the largest general topics forum that I've found to date, and since a number of members here are active on other specialized forums, [H] is a good starting point for research even if I can't find all the answers here. There are also a lot of very knowledgeable people working as section mods, and that helps get quick answers. The size of the forum also makes for a fantastic FS/FT section, which is amazing for the constantly upgrading, bargain hunting lot like myself.

I've also gotta say, I love the simple layout of the place (esp since that NewEgg ad got fixed and doesn't suck the PPD out of my rig anymore.

I love hard forums because it is a great place to get reviews, mostly friendly community and I mean mostly and about the only place you can trust the reviews/articles. We have kyle here who is willing to do just about anything for us like get help for someone who is having rma problems aahh don't you love sapphire tech. And here is where I beg/use my hypnotist powers on you to make you give it to me. You are giving me a 6400 super black edition cpu in trade for my love, happyness and a friendship. (I almost sound like a dog{withers in self pitty}) So yeah thank you hard for the chance to win a super 6400 cpu.

i love the [H] for all the people that are on it. i especially love seeing pics of eveyone else's computers, because for the most part, i can see what it's like having an awesome rig/home theater/pc part. so i guess i envy the [H] and everyone in it :D

I love hardocp, but I miss Asia Carrera. I can't even buy or download her movies illegally now anymore since she no longer is on our news page from time to time! I remember those days and the gift drawings on some thermo site I can't even remember for ultimate pcs. Those were great, even if I had no chance in winning with my bad luck.

I love however your comment forum posts now with each news update, this is a great edition. For years I wanted this, still less then Carrera. Keep up the good unbiased news! You guys got balls, often you will stay by your words when others won't (and still collect that ad revenue somehow!)
