I love [H]ardOCP because of the higher standards of the forum goers, not just some random "tech" site filled with random people who that have no idea what they're talking about. It's also a great place to learn alot about ethusiast knowledges where the informations you get are actually learned from experience and not just because they found a random post somewhere else on the net and just passed on the word.

[H] Thermalright AMD <3 Poem
How do I love thee [H]? Let me count the ways
I love thee for the depth of the reviews and articles.
My attention can always wonder to a thread with new insight.
I love thee to the level of an everyday reader and contributer to the [H]ardForums.
I love thee freely and purely for the the people who make [H]ard|OCP worth coming back to everyday.
I love with much passion to put use my OC skills to technology I love and to push to it's limits.
With my lost thermal paste I shall see what thee recommends that is best!
With great entertainment value and Overclocking for all.
With an Editor-In-Chief who never backs down!
I shall always love thee [H] to the bitter end.

Live it large and live it [H]ard.

I like [H] because you don't buckle to certain brands or marketing hype, or cash. You don't seem to be in any company's pockets. You are honest in your opinions. I don't always agree, but I appreciate the honesty. I'm glad that I can come here and read what your experience was, even if it is in exact opposite (or especially if) of the hype, or other reviewer's results. I check here first for information, and appreciate the links to other reviewers' sites for new releases. I didn't like the change on video card reviews at first, but I've come to appreciate the value, and agree that it is the better method. I have disagreed with some reviews, as my own experiences have differed on some (i.e. - Vista), but hey, everyone's experiences are different, and I hope you continue to be honest in your evaluations and don't ever bow to hype, or the "in" thing (like the open-source movement - if it is really a good thing, fine, but if the purchased stuff is better, then well, it's better). Keep up the good work!

I love [H] because:

  • The hardware reviews are trusted and love the review methodology (apples to apples). It's why I'll always come back for more.
  • I've saved HUNDREDS of dollars ever since i've come here from making great buying decisions and settling nothing less than [H] quality hardware.
  • I've burned THOUSANDS of dollars on computer related items, but I love every penny i've spent :)
  • The forum = learning place for the last couple years and couldn't leave if i wanted to.
  • GenMay.

The Good: Awesome reviews articles and REAL tech news.

The Bad: The ads but you gotta have em.

The Ugly: Unfortunately the site design and navigation leave something to be desired. Ugly site, hard to navigate.

[H] is a great resource for finding a properly written review that doesn't pander to the company, especially when they have a bad product. The posting of the news is second to none, and always has a great mix of LOL along with information.

Why I love the [H]

  • For the no-nonsense, unbiased and relevant reviews.
  • For the irreverent and humorous comments on the news page.
  • For listening to the community--see the many front page references to the folding team as an example.
  • For the community. There are some good people here that aren't on staff. Thank you, and not just because I want a new CPU.
  • For standing up to a bogus lawsuit and not selling out.
  • For the cheap lifetime subscription to GenMay.

I love the [H] because:

HardOCP:
  • The pages are well-organized (and I'm a sucker for dark backgrounds).
  • The reviews are honest and thorough.
  • The ads are relevant and of reputable retailers and equipment.
  • The [H] staff consists of people just like us, and they're interested in the same qualities. They also cater to audiences of all budgets.
  • Kyle's nose for bogus PR claims. ;)
HardForum:
  • It uses vB.
  • I learned how to build a computer by simply browsing threads, subforums, and stickies.
  • The money I've saved (and saved others) by going the DIY route.
  • The mods are patient, speedy, and mature, and they employ a sense of humor.
  • Its policies, especially in the FS/FT forum, are fair and effective at keeping its members safe.
  • Despite a huge member base, Kyle is personable and frequents regular threads.
  • Kyle's knack for poetic justice when backhanding troublesome members.
  • Brown-nosing sometimes wins us sweet loot. :D

Ultimately, I support the [H] because the [H] supports me. I've tried several other tech sites and forums just to peek my head out of the Cave, but, alas, I run back inside. ;)

Love: The forums, news that interests me, quality of articles/reviews. I like that I can use HardOCP as a "one stop shop" for all my needs. I can post in forums with thousands of people who are just like me, find the latest news about things that I like and get the scoop on the latest in technology without the PR BS.

Hate: Only showing the highest playable settings at a single resolution for video cards. I would like to see the highest playable settings at a variety of resolutions to account for people with different display sizes.

Would Love You More If: You did more game articles like the UT3 Gameplay Performance one. Hardware sites use some games in their hardware reviews, but gaming sites don't generally use hardware in their game reviews. It's hard to get a good idea about how a game will run on different setups.

An ode to Hardocp:

Jingle Bells
Hard- ocp smells
AMD laid a phenom egg
ATI Lost a Wheel
And the market share got away!!!

[instrumental cymbals, pounding & stuff]

THE performance lead GOT AWAY!
THE performance lead GOT AWAY!

Keep up the great work!!!
By the way I still love the little green company ;)

Th [H] generally has a well thought out reason for it's take on hardware, even if It's not the same way everyone else does it, you can be pretty sure it's spelled out why and how the review is put together. The move to real world usage I still think was a good move, particularly for gaming and the game reviews.

The best feature here though is the 24/7 news updates with a good mix of tech and nerd thrown in.

I am not a fan of the pay model of the forum, but it does channel some of the off topic stuff into genmay, which isn't half bad.

I love [H] because:
*The forums will have a thread about anything techie related if not already reviewed.
* Clean design that doesn't hurt the eyes
*[H]ot Deals section.

Hate [H] because:
*[H]ot Deals section.

I love you guys because I can’t remember how many times I use other peoples’ computers and they think that it is a porn site in their history due to the dyslexic reading ocp as cop. Can you imagine a Hardcop.com? I can't but they apparently do...

The forums are really active and there is always something new to read about, and some of the best modders use these forums to show off their new works.

The news updates are frequent enough to keep my clicking refresh every 15minutes, and it is news that computer users will actually care about. But most of all, I love the no bull attitude of the staff when it comes to reviewing, you tell it like it is and that is how it should be.

What I hate about hardocp is how addicted to this site that I am, it is the first and last tabs I click on opening and closing firefox.

The style of video reviews has grown on me over time, and I appreciate their usefulness these days. The negative I find is that Kyle can be a bit of a jerk on the forums, he is stern and set in his ways, at least he's honest in messy situations. It's one of the key reasons [H]ard|OCP is around these days. Oh, and great front page.

I always come to hardocp and the forums to check current news regarding technology and personal opinions on hardware. Its nice to just check the front page in class, see whats going on. Check some hardware reviews.

The forums are an incredible resource. A wealth of information can be had just a few clicks away if troubleshooting or part picking. I have consulted the hardforums on a lot of my hardware purchases. The 20" dell s-ips monitor, my opteron cpu. The 8800gt video card which will be here in a few days. You gotta love the hotdeals section also. You never know what you want until you see it listed somewhere cheap with free shipping. :D

It's a really friendly place to chat. Well moderated, excellent userbase. Overall, a fun place on the internet and has been a one-stop for all of my hardware related queries.

Why I like [H]ard,

Honesty means allot to me and something you have earned in my book when you say something isn't worth my money then it truly isn’t.

Funny stories, I must say one of the more exciting and funny stories I have read was about the phantom console, I sent that link to a few others who got a kick out of it as well.

The most important has to be how you review, sure I hate graphs and I would love for you to include simple numbers but I truly like your reviews. [H]ard reviews are always the first ones I read and normally the ones I base my buying decisions on.

And

IT’S FREE!!!

I love the [H]ard because of the real life reviews and fun way they are presented in.

I do wish there was a way to sort reviews by ratinging. As in the stuff you liked the best. I understand ratings will change over time and could be scewed funny but having to plow through all of the reviews to make my short list can be a bit overwhelming.

Again thanks for the great resource you provide.

like everyone else has said, this is the place to go for real people, real opinions, real reviews, etc.

i also like the new meaning that [H]ard brings to the word hard.

I think [H] does a thorough job in just about all of the reviews I’ve read. Video card, processor, PSU, and game reviews are informative, objective, and in the end, helpful to readers by showing strengths and weaknesses. Also important, [H] occasionally gets the jump on news articles that matter. The forums are the best! It goes without saying [H] listens to the readers and tries very hard to cater to them. And, that must be very difficult since the [H] crew are mostly peckers by nature.;)

I hate [H] because every time a company releases a product that I have been excited to read benchmarks about sucks, [H] just has to tell it like it is. Can't you guys just give everything a gold award? Why give me the truth? Ignorance is bliss! ;)

I enjoy the "no BS" articles that [H] posts. You don't care about stepping on toes or making sure that a product receives a good score, you just care about what consumers do: Price and Performance.

[H] reviews are the only ones I completely trust on the internet. Many places will recommend products that are inferior and end up biased. [H] also has wonderful forums that are a great resource for any kind of computer related question.

Keep up the fantastic work [H] staff!

Why??? It's simple. Because you guys totally rock! Is any other reason needed???? I think not!!!

Plus the fact that I was reading you guys 2 & a half years before I became a forum member all those years ago. In fact, you guys converted me from Tom's Hardware. I have seen the light halleluija!!! And it is [H]ard!!!

Combined with the fact that I've never, ever won anything, and don't pester you guys via email, ICQ or YIM like others do.

And the fact that I seriously need to upgrade my Athlon XP-3200 AGP system.

Should make me a winner this time. Or at the very least a contender.

Here's hoping! *fingers crossed*

*edit*

But even if I did win it, I'd turn around and sell it. My fiance' is in desperate need of a laptop so she can complete her degree at Austin Peay U and the moey would go towards that. I have my eye on one from Ohio Parts for her, or if you guys have one sitting around???

Anyway, it's just a consideration towards a worthy cause ie her degree.

I love the [H] because theres no crap and you don't accept "bribes" for good reviews, so we can trust that were getting good info and not something that is loaded with crap just to make the product look good because somebody paid a bunch of advertising money.

Sometimes a bit harsh I think, but always good info, which is what really counts!

I love [H] because it is managed by one of us [H]ardcore. The editors are involved directly with us and spend their time together with us in the forum. I felt like I know them personally and they are more than happy to help us to solve problems with manufacturers. [H]ardOCP is also a reliable source of info.

What I hate about [H]:
They are not in my country so there is no way I'm getting that BE 6400+ :p

I love it that I haven't been banned for being too dumb.
I hate it b/c I spend more time here than I should.
Unlike a lot of people, I love the color scheme & layout.
I hate it b/c I can't reach out & poke someone in the nose when I find them annoying.
I love it b/c no one can reach out & poke me in the nose when they find me annoying. :D
I can be really annoying & put little faces next to everything. :p
[H]ard Rocks like [H]eavy Metal!!!!!

I like [H] because of the quality reviews and up to date news on technology, it provides me confidence when I'm spending my hard earned money and I know I can get honest opinions from you all. On the contrary, I hate you guys because you have the job that I loathe to have.

Thanks, [H], for making quality greater than quantity unlike some other websites.

When I began building my computer, I had a ton of information to research. At first, my project started slow, feeling overwhelmed and frustrated I turned to various websites for assistance.

Your features, the community forums, and the users were instrumental in my evolution from hobbyist to enthusiast. It was [H]ard|OCP in it's entirety that made me discover the fun of building, and appreciate the investment of self-eduction for this hobby.

March on my brothers. We follow in arms. Even if it is to pick up free stuff along the way. :D

Why I love the [H]

1. Consistent Updates
2. Factual, useful Reviews.
3. Links to more Reviews
4. A lot of humor!
5. Teaming with one of my favorite Web Vendors: Newegg.

Xeen!

Love the [H]ardforums becasue it keeps me up at night , way past any normal time to go to sleep. (hehe). Ever since I stumbled here doing a search for a new/used vid card , ive learned so much about vid cards, ram, processors. as others have metioned , its a daily dose of the whats going on in the PC arena and more.
I often make customer contact in my line of employment and at times find the info i read the night before helps answer some questions, geared tward the internet , which lead to the customers new equipment or the equipment they plan to buy.

awe damn orthos stopped , only 33 min, blah gotta love the [H]!!!! :D

This isn't an entry, just a statement:

The reason I love the [H] is our readers / community. I love all you guys, the people that like us and the people that don't. The [H] is what it is because you guys are who you are...if that makes any sense. You guys make doing this a lot of fun, I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I love Hardforum, because it helps me spend all my money. I wish there was a hardforum paypal account I could just throw tons of money into and have them randomly ship me crap I don't need. I also love that it's called HARD forum, it makes me think of sex, and computers, and then computers having sex. It's nice!

1. The staff at [H]ard|OCP is the truthiest on the Internet. They present the facts as clearly as they
can and they refuse to bow down to those who would like the truth hidden from the public. They
always examine the marketing claims made about products and they frankly point out the pros
and cons of the products they review.

2. The forums are the best I have ever seen. You can always find someone to help you in the
hardware/software sections and there are scores of interesting people in GenMay to just chat
with. I have posted on many forums but I never stick around too long. Since I joined this forum
over three years ago, I have never left.

3. The [H]ard|Forums educated me and cultivated my love for video cards and now I am the #2
guy at GPUReview.com. I actually get paid to post video card news and to enter video card data
into a database! What really makes me feel great is when my fellow [H]ard|Forum members link
to my site when they are helping people out. If this community likes the site enough to use it and
recommend it to others, I know I am doing something right.

I love the big [H] because of its red black theme, lol. On a more serious note, I love [H] because the reviews are informative and always to the point. They say the real deal and can be trusted. The forum community is extremely knowledgeable and always there to help.
The news RSS feed keeps me up to date in the enthusiast field and other oddities in the industry. The [H] was the first tech site I joined, and your first one is always the best!

Rock on!

The reason I love [H]ard is because of the accurate reviews, I also love it due to the amount of activity on the forums and the fact that the mods are awesome. I think the red/black layout rocks because it is soooo easy to read :D

I love you guys because we have such a diverse forum. We have experts on CPU's to audiophiles who contribute everyday to these forums. Its hard to find a thread with zero replys in. I've asked many technology questions throughout my years being a member on this forum and they all have been answered quickly and thoroughly. I always get my up-to-date technology news from you guys, it would take me forever to search other sites. This site even helped me build my gaming rig.

The [H] is fantastic because you guys actually care about computer tech and your readers, and that shows up in the quality of the writing, the accuracy of your reviews, and the general level of effort that goes into every part of [H]ardocp and the [H]ardforum. This is my go-to site for anything tech related, and while most things on the web are redundant several times over, with at least 5 other sites doing the same thing, the [H] is unique in my opinion. The comp tech community on the net wouldn't be what it is without the [H].

PS - All of that gushing was 105% genuine, with no gratuitous sucking up. It is all well earned.

I like [H]ard Ocp for all the reason everybody else does.

The great reviews and the news, etc.

Also the integrity...which the whole Phantom Console (names kinda ironic, no?) episode proved. A lot of other sites would have buckled, flipflopped ,etc. Kyle stood his ground and stuck up for his (and our) site. :D

Love [H] for the same reason that there is no longer a [H]ard workshop at Quakecon: You don't let sponsors or advertisers affect what you say about equipment.

I'll probably get disqualified for saying why I love AND hate you guys.

Love:
+ Your tests are extremely thorough
+ You guys are very knowledgeable
+ You guys write more like a human than a cut and paste robot

Hate (but more like nitpicking):
- There are a few reviews where I felt things are a bit biased from certain authors
- I still prefer apple to apple comparison (which there are a few) rather than the "best" settings to run in your video card evaluation

Still though, overall I still rely on some of your reviews when I'm about to upgrade my computer components. Keep it up [H] folks!
