This thread is to show how your workstation changed over the years. Assuming you keep your old workstation pictures...

I'll start it off.

Oldest workstation picture I have on file. I beleive this was 5 or 6 years ago.

Then been like this for a long time... ~2 years.

July 2009 (Most recent one as of Aug 7) Not much change but it's in my own place.
Considering upgrading my desk shortly. Need more surface space.

Future plans...
Buy/Build a extremely wide desk. Large enough to hold three 40 inch or larger LCD. 3x1080p (5760x1080)
Another pair of Insignia bookshelf speaker and floor stand for rear speakers.
Center channel speaker.

My workstation in late 2006:

This is from mid-2007 when I went strictly with a laptop (Asus V6Va) after my Monarch SFF met its demise:

Early 2008 with a different laptop (Dell Latitude D630) and my first non-PC 2.1 speaker system (Panasonic XR-57 out of the pic on the left):

Present day:

The one constant throughout this evolution has been the expanding Amazon rainforest cable jungle.

2009, new monitor, upgraded my PC a lot, new mouse and keyboard (Sorry for the terrible quality, but the camera only lives for about one minute with new batteries, so I had to be quick, and it's quite dark):

Personally I hate having to click on a smaller image to see the full size. I enjoy just scrolling down rather than scrolling... click... click... click... click... scrolling.......

So by all means keep it at full size.

Noo it doesn't shrink it that much, there's an option for message board size, which brings it to 640 x 480, there's also 800 x 600, 1024 x 768, 1280 x 1080, 1600 x 200, lol. Any of those is a bit easier to handle than 2272 x 1702. Eh thats just me anyway dont worry bout it.

Senior Year. Junior year was same setup in different house. iBook was probably in my bag still when pic was taken.

Grad school. Couldn't take the Galant across country with me so I got a Jerker on craigslist. Got the macbook for graduation.

We had a computer to this one previously, but there are no photos. This is from about 2002 and in the dining room:

I got a new computer in 2004 (Athlon 2400+)

My Dell from 2007 (Athlon X2 5000+)

I upgraded my Dell quite a bit and borrowed my Dad's 19" LCD

With my 20" Samsung LCD

I used my 2004 PC for a while because I was building my new PC

My new Phenom II rig (720BE X3 @ 3GHz)

anyways some of mine

one of my setups in college, probably 2002 or so: a p3 compaq at 667 mhz lmao. it still works too if i remember . sold it to my lil bro awhile ago.

one of my last college setups, late 2004: athlon xp 2500+ with a radeon 7500 aiw

one of my setups after college while at home, 2005 sometime. first lcd ever a 19 inch sceptre

this was after i moved out of home and lived in williamsburg. pardon the mess lol . also when i got my first stacker .

when i finally got my own apartment in nov. 2006, here is my original setup.

eventually i got my first jerker and it went where that original desk was.

the original desk got relegated to laptop duty in my bedroom

eventually i added a 37 inch westinghouse . one of my favorite ever purchases! . this was summer 2007.

i also added a 24 inch soyo .

eventually i outgrew that room so i put everything in my bedroom and made the other room my bedroom since my original bedroom was slightly larger.

at this time i added a table jerker as well

i also built my friend a dual core pentium D machine with 2gb ram and a 400gb harddrive i had spare. i used my mom's old case. somehow it still worked! i kept my soyo though

the room eventually got more and more shelves, shelves i already owned but put in there.
i also got some onkyo 990s thx htib . i loved it .

i also got a original style jerker but alas it was the wrong color. . it went in my closet.

eventually though i got a correct color original style jerker to match my other 2 light birch ones, in feb. 2009. (although i waited to put it together for the last step, because the guy forgot to bring out the stabilizer piece for the bottom. he finally mailed it to me lol. i sold the wrong style original jerker desk for almost 3 times what i paid for it ).

i also had gotten rid of my first laptop awhile back and got this dell d630

everything was starting to get somewhat cramped lol so i finally added some monoprice monitor mounts for the soyo's as i had 2 now . this was march 2009.

i think it was big success . it was a triumph

however, that was getting pretty cramped since the soyo's were mounted on my jerker arms.
so i redid it again! for the last time! lol (i hope ). for speakers i delegated my other onkyo's for the living room. i got some onkyo s5100's for 330 shipped in a deal last year . i've also upgraded the wire to 12 gauge . i will do the same in the living room.

and thats how it is currently still setup. eventually once i get a tv for the living room and stop putting all my money into guns i'll show that setup too .

all my setups were inspired by the [H]. thanks so much guys! .

First computer build (2003):
(Intel P4/ATI Radeon 9700 AIW)

Second computer build, and added a 2nd monitor (2007/10):
(AMD Athlon X2/ATI Radeon x1800xt?)

salvaged whatever usable parts I could get from previous computer to build another computer, changed to a LCD monitor (2008/10)

added a 2nd LCD monitor (2008/11)

Current setup - Desktop is taking a rest - PSU keeps on shorting every HDD I put into it (2009/08)
(Intel C2D/Nvidia Geforce 9800M)

- this current setup is my first 'new' setup since I started building - I just realized the others had atleast PC2700 RAM - so I stayed on this generation for about 6 years

Toyed with an LCD for a while...

Early 06? Dedicated bench rig + daily rig in lanboy

Started playing cod2 competitively, back to the CRT

Finally got real headphones!

Switched to an antec 900

December 07 - some semblance of sanity at last! ibook is long gone and replaced with a proper laptop, CRT gone for good and replaced with 24" LCD, got my first set of speakers, moved computer into stacker 832

december 08 - rearranged + p182, becoming anal and silence obsessed at this point

And the most recent picture, switched speakers for smaller energy c-100
