And I live in England where we get ripped off left, right and centre :/

225 euro is only about £160 which is cheap. Can I have a link to the company you bought them from, would be interested to know if they ship to the UK as I can't find them here.

I'm also looking at some Jamo e875, can't seem to find a huge amount of info on them though.

Sorry mate, I bought them from a local hifi-store, which had bought them for their opening, and they were -50% (Yeah, right.. :D) off.

= meaning they're crap? :D

Well, they having some earphones on their homepage doesn't affect the sound quality of their speakers..:D

I think they sound great. Among the best speakers in that price range. Others I tested were Magnat Quantum 503 and Wharfedale Diamond 9.2. Diamonds were a little too crisp, but the Quantums were great. Unfortunately I didnt want bookshelf speakers.

EDIT: I added one more photo of the speakers.

jamo's are pretty decent speakers for the price.

Please take the stick out of your @ss please. Both of you.

K, sir.
Or, better yet, you stfu, please.
We were merely pointing out the Apple iBuds less than stellar performance and maybe the speakers may as well.
If he got them that cheap and loves the sound then so be it, we are not the ones judging how he hears sound.
So please, settle down troll.
If you do however want to continue with the subject we can surely go ahead and do that.
Let me advise you that you may not like the end result. ;)

I can attest to your brother's taste, pig. I heard a pair at my local Bowers dealer. They're an amazing sound for the buck.

B&W loves do do the horned center cone dont they?....wonder if it impacts sound that much

Here's my current speaker setup...

Happy New Year everyone.

So are you saying iPod buds are good then? Idiot.

I wasn't even talking about the speakers, I quite like the look of them and they probably sound quite good.

I was merely commenting on the fact they used such a bad headphone on the main page of their website which, for a company that produces audio equipment possibly wasn't the smartest of moves.

It's a stock photo. Get over it.

ppphhh...phhhhasseee ppplluugggg....

the Intelli explorer was a good mouse....still is in fact, compared to the g5 or the deathadder its not that much better...just a very small marginal advantage using either of the "gaming" mouses

From what I heard, ALL of them are fake - just glued onto the cone.

Wrong. The bullet plugs are not connected to the cone at all. In fact, they don't even touch the cone, and are removable.

They do serve a functional purpose but I'm not sure exactly what.

Well, I've never owned a pair so I'm just going from what I've overheard.

WRT what they actually do - the highest frequencies that a cne produces come from the centre. With a normal concave cone design, sound from one side of the inner cone will 'collide' with sound from the other side of the inner cone. The plug protrudes from the centre to ensure that this sound deflects into the room rather than passing through each other & degrading in quality. Something like that, anyway.

i finally decided to upgrade my speakers. i was about to buy their predecessors the elac 204 but wen't with the all new 244 :D

and wow .... they have an amazing sound, and for their small size they put out an great amount of bass, but not boomy in any way. i switched my subwoofer off and still had the low end punch.:D:cool::D

The 243s you mean? :p
Those look pretty awesome with the crystalesque woofer cone, and the "JET" tweeters.

They look like hardcore hot rod speakers.
How much!?!?!?!

no, 244's
like these
http://www.elac.de/en/products/l240/show.php?bs244

uhm i better not tell that in case someone knows where i live ;)

edit: there is actual a mistake on the english elac homepage, the woofer is 180mm in diameter and not 150 as stated.

Oh, Ok, I see it now, when it went to the page it was with another finish, and only saw the 243s in black and thought you might have hit the wrong number key ^_^. :)
