Lol I do... but I'm currently using a 20". I love how in the display thread they're like F speakers get the monitor first! And over here it's the other way around haha. My friend is like screw the new speakers! Get a bigger monitor, how do you stand using that small monitor? Then again I'm using these crap 2 ch logitech speakers....

It really just depends, I have my 42" 1080p set that I use sometimes as a secondary display but most of the time I just surf the internet and listen to music while playing guitar or whatever.

I have a 20" and was thinking of upgrading to a 24" but decided it wasn't really worth it. Also I am using my MacBook more and more for some reason, and it has a 13" screen.

Why not get both at the same time? :p

my humble little system.

and yes, that is the lateralus LP :)

<3 tool.

It's my only vinyl for now (ebay shopping -- got more on the way cheap as dirt), I'm diggin' it. I may end up upgrading that turntable soon..

khanable, what receiver are you using?
also, I like the external reservoir for the water cooling :)

My budget system for music listening: Denon PMA-250 SE amp, Harman Kardon HD710 cd and Onkyo D-052AX bookshelf speakers.

Other speares are Modecom AV2000 that I use for movies.

Yamaha RX-V459 -- I love it!

and thanks!
Then what are you using as a phono preamp if you don't mind me asking? I've recently been offered a free turntable and pile of vinyl and am debating what to get since my RX-V559 doesn't have a phono in either.

My (very) low end turntable has a phono preamp built in.

I just wanted to randomly chime in and remind everyone Tool is probably one of the best bands ever conceived.

I'm looking forward to Ashes Divide.

To each his own. I take it you think it sucks because it's their most intelligent album to date?

If I want intelligence, I'm not going to be listening to music for it. I think it sucks because the music is no good. There just is no equivalent to Opiate, Eulogy, Stinkfist, 46&2, etc. on Lateralus. Just suck and more suck. Not one song that doesn't sound like it's trying to rape my ears. In a very bad way.

My new AV123 Encores arrived!!!!

I bought a pair of x-ls bookshelves and an x-cs center. I planned to use them with my home theater, but once I connected the x-ls, I had to have them for my PC. Sadly, the x-cs is just too big for my desk. I ordered another and will use them as the fronts for my HT.

Anyone interested in a 9-month old pair of original x-ls in Piano Rosewood? ;)

Man they look nice. That mesh needs to go ASAP though. I want to upgrade :(

Agreed. Unlike many Tool fans, I don't listen in awe of myself for having "appreciated" Tool. 10,000 days = naptime, btw.

Those H.R. Giger pictures are the shit, though.

Much of 10,000 days I found naptime until I saw them play the songs live. I've enjoyed the album ever since. Right in Two is probably one of my favorite songs now.

Well here is my crappy setup, hope to get some real speakers soon.

Some of you might wonder how i'm using logitech speakers on a HT receiver

Well, I got a 5.1 setup. Here is two photos of my room, you can't see the rear speakers, but if anyone wants a photo of the back of the room please let me know and I can post them up. the back speaker look similar to the two front ones. The speakers are attached to Marantz SR8001 receiver. Sound is awesome :D Oh, this is where I work as well. One of the reasons I don't show the back of the room is that it is full of computers that are in bits :)

Most of my work is remote logging into servers that I have installed and doing maintenance on them. And then there is administration and other office work. I run my own company from here. Test hardware etc as well :)

LOL, yeah I am sitting on a raised platform, the chair was a little too low by itself for using the keyboard and mouse. Just at the edge of the platform where I am taking the photo from is a sofa for when I am watching movies.

reaper 12 nice screen realy, but what it is durty. Meby i have not so large screen, but i have a clean room:p.

A pretty serious driver to be found in a non-subwoofer:

Lego Stormtrooper for scale.

Unfortunately the reason it's out is I blew the internal amplifier. I just got it back from being repaired and they apparently fixed the symptoms but not the disease as it blew again almost immediately.

It's a space problem. I rent this room and I am not allowed to drill holes or anything like that. This room is also my workspace and office, I'm self employed doing computer repairs. If this was in my living room or my bedroom it would be very tidy and clean. I have only a small apartment though so no space for anything like this.

my logitech Z-5500's, soundcard is an HT Omega Claro.

Yeah, those are bose. haha. they were just sitting around, so heck, why not use them till i get my new ones.
also have these (but the older model '99)
http://www.bose.com/controller?event=VIEW_PRODUCT_PAGE_EVENT&product=301_bookshelf_index
on the bookself above me. My parents bought them... they still sound pretty nice
Amp is on the shelf under my desk. its a luxman. love it.. but its older, so it doesnt have all the many channels

To this day, Bose still makes some decent (but not great) stuff. None of their smaller speakers are included in this category. And they are overpriced, so I still wouldn't buy them.

Yeah, those white ones my parents got in '01. they sound great for the little speakers they are.

Then the ones that i gave the link for, they got in '99. they still can hit some lows. i have them hooked up to add some depth to the white ones...

mdashoot// How are you liking the HT Omega Claro?
Been looking at them for awhile. A lot of talk but no first person impressions.

haithamt, I have them connected to an Acoustic Authority 180watt 2.1 setup.
I opened up the sub box and disconnected the 10" sub so that it isn't using up any of the power (it sounded like crap anyways), and then connected a separate KLH 12" 125watt home theater subwoofer for the kick. I was looking into picking up a T-Amp (Gen-2) for it, but I don't think it'd do a better job at powering it with only 10watts per channel...

GPUCommando, oh my gosh, I know! Before I saw them the day I bought them, I thought they were like 8" tall... I had no idea they were this massive lol

Gautama, I don't have room for them either, but they sound so great, I just force myself to live with only 4" of room to move my mouse on my desk haha
