I got really mad yesterday when I seen all these wonderful desktops so I redid mine completely. Gonna take a while to get used to but Its pretty cool..

I like a clean desktop. Free of widgets and any of that mess. No offense to guys who like them, but they just slow your PC down. Also never wanted to make my PC look like a mac, buy a mac if you want one and stop pretending, that's so fake.

I'm not a great fan of the mac OS look, but I think skinning windows for free would be a smarter option than buying a mac just for the looks.

Cleaner look for me this month. Using Foton (in Windowblinds); Y'z Dock w. Reluna Marron background; various dock icons; Avedesk Horizontal Calendar in SysStats; Konfabulator widgets: Widescape Weather & Timzonabulator; Wallpaper: got it from Deviantart (it's called Georgetti Mafia)

I have a gig of ram, a athlon xp 2800 and Konfabulator doesn't slow my pc down at all. Maybe they should post more specific miminum system requirements when people go to download konfabulator. Just kinda let people know that if you have a crappy system, then don't bother downloading it. Anyway, here is my current screeny!

mine. dont have anything special yet. got benq fp937s on right 2005fpw on left. use ultramon to manage the backgrounds. Question, is it a windows blind that most of you use to have the larg icons
at the top of your screen that get bigger when you put the pointer over them? What do you think? what can I do to improve it

Wallpaper from deviantart, system moniter, little notepad thingy, and weather are all widgets.
 
i tired to do it a while ago. and didnt have any luck. i thought it was kind of hard. i like rainmeter now. i got a few published "widgets" for it. and then total re-made em with my icons and backgrounds and such.

samurize does take a bit to figure out but once you do you'll see that there are alot of possablities, I tried the konfabulater but it seemed so one track, I couldnt figure out how to make my own widgets then I found samurize

There are tutorials on the Konfabultor page on how to make the Widgets. That and if you download the Widget Convertor, and simply do a Edit In Word Pad, on the extracted .kon file you will see how easy it is to make a widget :-D
 
Changed mine slightly--again!! Using: VS: Kuantum by KoL; Avedesk; Spirit (White) Winamp skin by Stefanka; Widescape Weather, Timezonabulator & TDSM (beta by Drevor) K-fab widgets; Y'z Dock; Wallpaper--I can't remember...
