Do you have some sort of "clear type" text font on? Because WOW, that text is SOOO blurry.

you might want to check your monitor. his screenshot text looks the same as the text on the rest of the page. which is to say, really sharp and clear. :)

Oh My GOD, I'm in the twilight zone where the entire world is backwards!

Each post like this just makes me even more happy that I have the monitor in my sig. You see, without "clear type", the text displayed on my monitor is so much cripser.
Perhaps its because my monitor has a higher dot pitch then those higher res monitors you guys might be using, so I am able to discearn little diffrence in pixles eaiser.

Any monitor I work on uses clear type. I do not like the little aliased letters of un-clear typed fonts. For some reason, you see them as fuzzy, while most of us do not. It looks very clear and smooth where I'm sitting from.
 
I should also add I do not use LCD's. Their picture is inferior to a good CRT in many ways, which is possibly why what we see is different. Most of the screens I work on are higher end Sony Trinitron CRTs.
Or it may just be preference. You may be used to the jaggedy little letters and like those more.

My monitors aren't all that big :p
Anyway, yes, if you enjoy no clear-type (which was designed specifically for the jaggedyness of LCD's, coincidentally), then more power to ya. Makes no dif on my end of things :)
(I should add that I prefer laser printers to dot-marix ones... oof, that was a low blow, sorry. I'm mostly playing, please don't take this seriously.)

that is linux, and it looks like he might have k-stats as well as a few other programs. he also has the task bar set to transparent

K-stats, as in KDE-stats. KDE is Linux.

If you want to costumize windows, look at stardock.com

For a dock, check out Object Dock
For the stats, get a program called Samurize. It's incredibly versatile, you can get it to look exactly as you want.
