*POST* your i7 setup specks

I got my Thermalright Ultra Extreme installed again and it looks like 3.83GHz 1.35v is going to be it for me. Unless I figure something else out.

for uncore and qpi voltages what are the best settings.
bump it by around .05-.1v, and see if that helps. Goes back to that anandtech article I linked before.
As for best, dont ask me. My board/ram wont be here until thursday (I hope).

Did you bump the uncore/QPI voltage at all? Its supposed to be pretty effective.
Otherwise, it doesn't sound that off, voltage can be pretty chip specific.

But im running faster qpi @ 19 multiplier, 211 vs 200. Ill give it a try, but doesnt make sense to me to increase voltage when its running slower than it currently is.

Right now though for the average user is there a benefit of 6gb of 12gb of ram??

MSI eclipse

Vista64 home prem

I have a bunch of these parts and some I am waiting on, but it's trickling in here... I should have it all by next weekend. the plan is to build a whole new gaming rig, sort of a "base build".. get that stable, then move my video cards and whatever else I want to move to the final build. I hope to hit 3.8+ ghz with the cpu.. I'll stick with air cooled for now, but bit go water later with my modified nautilus 500.. we'll see..

Just tried mine out @ 4ghz, Vista loaded no problems. I checked my idle temps and they ranged between 40-45c, which I thought was pretty good since its was right in range the Kyle hit his with OC and Temps test. I fired up Prime95 in about 30 sec the cores jumped to 90-95, I 100% increase ><.

ASUS P6T Deluxe

Noctua NH-U12P SE1366
G.SKILL 6GB (3 x 2GB) DDR3 1333
Intel X25-M SSD for boot
Sapphire Radeon 4850 X2

everything else is irrelevant. hopefully all the parts arrive mid next week.

not counting live search cashback, it cost around $1000 including the true black and shipping.

with 2x hd4870, 80gb velociraptor, 1tb sg 7200.11, zalman 1kw.

set vcore to 1.35, vdimm to 1.65, bumped vtt and vqq up a couple steps and boot into v64 at 20x200. prime stable for a few hours. the true, true black and true black se are being sold as socket 1366 hs in many online stores. they do not come with socket 1366 mounting hardware. i had a 1366 bolt thru kit i bought for my ultima 90 a few weeks ago. the bolt thru kit cam back in stock today at jab-tech and sidewinder.

Specs are in the sig, haven't tested the temps yet or ran Prime 95, system has only been loaded up since last night with all the drivers.

The only games that wont run on vista x64 are 16 bit games. And for them, a virtualized box is plenty to run them just fine.

I choose the P6T based mainly on the review at [H] and reading the forums here. Also the board was a open box that only cost me $167 (showed up as a bare board)

I upgraded from the system in my sig. so it was a big step up for me (but i felt like i was shooting a trusty old dog when I pulled my IC7 apart :( )
