Hey,
it all depends on what kind of music you like. The DT770 is, in my opinion, only suited for electronica and possibly also rap/r&b. It has massive (and I mean massive, there's nothing I've heard that compares to it, other than turning my logitech z-2300's bass knob to 3/4ths... but that doesn't sound nearly as good and controlled) bass, but the highs are a bit edgy and the mids are a bit distorted. The bass really is the thing to buy the DT770 for, the rest of the spectrum isn't all that great. It's a nice headphone, but the HD-595 stomps all over it in giving a realistic sound. The mids are much better with the HD-595, and it gives a much clearer and lighter presentation of the sound. The bass is great on the HD-595, just not so present.
All in all, if you listen to music that's not very bass oriented (rock, pop, etc), the HD-595 is the way to go. I listen to alot of techno and house though, and on that ground the DT770 is just a very, very fun can to listen to. It turns songs that sound a bit bland with the HD-595 into fun headbanging songs.
The DT770 does need a good amp though, I run my HD-595 on low gain mode with the volume between 1 and 4 out of 10, and I need to run the DT770 on high gain mode, with the volume between 3 and 6 out of 10.
Hope it helped![]()

Where did you get them?
