Ten years ago I went to high school with a girl named Kathy. She moved away after our freshman year in high school. I never knew what happened to her or where she went. That brings up an important point.

My fiancee is kinda frugal, and didn't really care about the ring. She woulda liked diamond, but she felt it was a huge waste of money. She wanted me to get something called "asha" (http://betterthandiamond.com/) because it looked exactly like a diamond, even from up-close. To make a long story short, I actually considered it, and checked it out. It did look pretty impressive. But not fake, like zirconia or whatever it is. Although, I actually ended up getting a real diamond, cause I inherited it from a relative (But she never knew that).

So what's the point of spending nearly 10K for something that only sits on a finger, when you can better invest the money for your (and her) future? You can put the several thousands of dollars you save and buy your woman something more useful, or do what I did, and put it towards a new house. I'm not saying I'm against diamond rings, but I just can't fathom the cost it is for something so ... useless.

And it has nothing to do with the fact that you're willing to spend a lot of money on your fiancee. That should never be an issue!
 
Once you get about $300-$350 saved up, let me know. I got a guy that will hook it up! I just got my fiance a 3/8 Carrot engagement ring for $300. Its just shy of a 1/2 carrot. Its a really nice ring.

2. You got 2 arms 2 legs and a brain. Go get a second job and make it work. There are alot of people out there working there asses off under much more adverse conditions than you and they would never accept a "handout" from a stranger.

If you cant get it on your own you need to bite the bullet and live within your bounds. If you dont like those bounds....then expand them with your own sweat and tears, NOT on the back of others.

To Techno Butt... To be honest, I didn't read most of your posts. They're long winded and based on false information. Information that any semi-intelligent person (a 4th grader) could have gotten from carefully reading each post and seeing who wrote these posts. It should be obvious now that you've somehow confused the names of the posters and mistakenly attributed actions to me that I did not write or do. Simply put, you're an idiot. I don't really care much for your opinion based on what I've seen from you. Don't crap in my thread.

I'm a college student on break from school. I live on my own without assistance from my folks. I've been working two jobs for nearly the last five years. Don't tell me I don't know what hard work is. I've worked at a church with the most insane people, I've telemarketed, I've worked at a gym cleaning toilets. I've been a temp, worked at CompUSSR and probably a billion other odd jobs to earn money to survive. There have been times when I didn't even know where food or gas was coming from. It's crappy when you see your bank account has less than a dollar.

Sure I do have some nice things. These were the days when I lived with my folks. When money was more available and I could mooch off my parents like most kids. Maybe I shoulda have spent my money wiser... but who the hell knows they're going to get married in 4 or 5 years? So now I'm poor and I'm getting things together.

To be honest, this isn't a sob story to get people to give me money. I didn't expect anyone to give me any money at all and if the ONE person that did give me something for nothing ... if he wants it back I'll gladly give it back. I would have thought the smiley after that sentence about giving me money through paypal would be seen as a joke. Apparently some had sympathy and gave me money... and then others like you, the joke was far over your head.

I'm not trying to fraud anyone here. Just here to sell my crap and if you want to give me BS about it... PM me. I'll likely ignore you from now, but don't crap in here and think you're being so logical, intelligent, and high moraled. You sir.... are an idiot.
