Please don't ship DHL

Just a quick opinion on zipzoomfly. I ordered from them for the first time over the weekend (saturday) and picked up a sata HD. I understand they dont ship on weekends but today is thursday and still dont have it (offer 2 day free shipping on most of their stuff)...supposedly its coming in tomorrow cause they didnt actually send it out till wednesday, but they didnt mind taking my money on saturday! Yeah free 2 day shipping...more like free wait 5 days shipping. I would have been better off paying for 3 day.

That's unusual. If I order Monday morning, I usually have it no later than Thursday, and usually get it on Wednesday. They use Fedex, and stuff gets there fast. I'm just glad they don't use DHL, I miss AirborneExpress, too bad DHL was the dominate partner.

lemme just say that ya the ups guy is nice, and i never get any damaged packages (trust me i get ALOT of shit shipped from ups)

he does call me by my first name which is strange as hell, makes me think he knows me everytime i see him...(i guess they could look at the name on the package and all but still)

veryyyy strange

I'm gonna call shens on this. Companies aren't allowed to charge you until their product has left their warehouse...or goods were exchanged. I've never even heard of zipzoomfly charging before shipping. It's illegal.

shens? Whats that? Are you calling me a liar? I was charged saturday, as soon as I ordered. The money was gone from my account which I have no problem with, was just saying they had no problem taking my money on time but couldnt get my product at the door on time is all.

HD is supposed to be here today so i'm happy about that. I dont mind it getting here a few days late because I didnt technically "pay" for the shipping but "free 2 day" means 2 days. Was just stating what happened and my experience. I dont think its a normal thing for them, probably just a fluke. Was just stating that I ordered from there for the first time and my experience with them. Not trying to dis their company because they do offer good products and awesome prices.

Never had any experience with DHL by the way and from the looks of it, I dont want to!

Are you sure they didn;t just put it on hold?

From my understanding of it, Free 2nd day only refers to the time when the package is actually sent to the fedex/ups office. It doesn't take into account the time that ZZF uses for in-house procedures. It's deceptive like that.

In Boston... packages are fast and non damaged from any carrier

DHL is freaking fast here...
Logitech Replacement speakers shipped near the willington, OH(largest hub) got to my door in 17 HOURS FOR A GROUND SHIPMENT!!!!

thats only because the hub/warehouse is pretty close to Boston

DHL, Fedex, UPS, USPS warehouses are located in South Boston =)

Yes maybe something like a hold but it is illegal to charge an account before goods change hands (well in the case of shipping you own the product once it's on the truck).

Yeah, never said it was FEDEX's fault. Its all good guys, as long as it gets here today =)
Its on the vehicle and on its way so should be here sometime today. Im actually getting two packages from fedex and they are on seperate trucks it looks like lol. One left at 8:19 (ram, burner, misc. stuff) and the other left at 8:07 (sata hd). Taking bets on which one gets here faster!

it could be the same truck... just scanned 12 minutes later?

DHL is very... different but I do not mind them, I def rate them above UPS. Check this one out:

UPS = Still the same Destruction Delivery via UPS

Thats just recently to me.

USPS.... well they claim to be responsible then walk away. They delivered an iBook to another house and the mail lady had another lady sign the sig confirmation and they never got it back. They claimed they would refund the cost and never did anything about it. They said there was no insurance but flat out, they delievered it to the wrong person, it was not lost they knew what happened. Hell the Post Lady had another woman sign for my package at a completely different address.

FedEx, never had a problem, mainly Newegg stuff.

UPS, see link above they are horrible.

I bought a 2GB CF card from Dell 2 months ago, DHL gave me a delivery confirmation about 5 days after dell sent it out, saying someone has accepted the package at the door and has signed for it... I was there the whole day and there was not ONE foot step sounded on my hollow front steps.

Called up DHL, they said they'll have a driver come by and see what happened. Nope, didn't happen.

Called again, DHL reported driver stopped by already.

.....

It took dell another month and half to deal with DHL and finally got my card about 2 months after initial order. By the time I have it in my hand, I could get it at fry's for cheaper without a rebate.

I've used all of them and Airborne. Fact of the matter is if you read enough everyone has a complaint on every single one.

UPS is very pricey and I don't believe it merits the $. I have also seen some beat up boxes. I work in NYC and I've seen how the guys throw the boxes around.

DHL is the cheapest. They aren't so bad but we usually deal with higher class neighborhoods so maybe that's why. But there have been "lost" packages.

Fed Ex is probably the best in my opinion. Fast and not too pricey. Yes I have a story. 2x this happened. (yet they're still my "fav") I ordered pc stuff and 1 time my mom found a box with my name on it... by a parked car in front of the house!!! LOL The other time it fell out of the truck and guy didn't even notice. I have also pieces from other people as well. The day I received a 630 and some burners my eyes lit up. First thing that came to mind was THOU SHALT NOT STEAL. I then went to the neighbor... 1, 2, 3, 4. 5 houses down to tell him I had his stuff.

and UPS is also amazing.

This is one of my few orders from newegg, it went from NJ, to CA, somehow UPS said street number is wrong (i get package from them everyweek, and its not my first newegg order), then said receiver refused package (ok the street is 'wrong', how did i refuse it then??). So the package got sent back to NJ, OOOPS, wrong hub, back to CA....

Wow that's gotta be a record or something. I'm going to have to lean towards FedEx myself, but I might be biased after having worked there for 10 yrs :p But they don't discriminate either, as they almost lost a PS2 of mine last Christmas. For two days it showed up as noone at residence/business closed , but the timestamp they had , I was sitting on my couch watching tv , so i did some digging at work and come to find out they were trying to deliver it to a totally different address! Luckily the folks weren't home or someone would've ended up with a nice new PS2  Finally got it and intact, turns out it was temp driver for the holiday

Well, my nephew was expecting a UPS yesterday, on truck for delivery, and didn't come. I was expecting a ups today and it arrived ysterday. A note I'm expecting packages every day until Monday... hopefully I'll get them all. 2 Fed Ex the rest UPS...

Its most likey standard procedure....

Today I missed my UPS Overnight package...
I didn't know Verizon shipped it ON!!! he said 3 days

Overnight is up to par =)

edit= newegg will def give you a refund... complain to them... it will help them show that UPS broke the contract with so many bad deliveries

Hopefully a new contract goes with Fedex

It turned out to be two different trucks heh..pretty pointless. I got the one package and about two hours later the other came in. And it wasnt on hold. I called and asked and she (customer service) said it was shipping out that day and it didnt get shipped till two days later. Processing was finished but oh well, I dont care, got my shit and worked good so its all gravy. Im jus chalking it up as a fluke. Oh well, anyway, I didnt even hear of DHL before this thread. I had seen their truck at a convenience store before but I thought it was a wholesaler or something, not a delivery company.

I've had nothing but good experiences from DHL, always shipped WAY before the stated expected ship date. Not sure about you guys, but DHL has been great for me.
