Did you enroll your device in the Android Beta program? You should get it like a normal OTA update then.

The Android 15 beta was instant to download and install

I was frustrated that the regular June update was still not available for me, so I went with the new beta instead.

Idk about you guys but last night I updated to android 15 beta 4 on my pixel 8 and to my shock the jittery scrolling problem we have had for a while has really been fixed well Im certain it has, before, apps like YouTube if I scrolled slightly faster then usual it would stutter and feel sluggish but now it's smooth, same with even reddit that's why I'm so shocked reddit near enough scrolls super smooth,

If anyone got 15 beta 4 please feel free to share what you think on this issue if you feel a smooth scrolling or if it's just a mind thing for me, my phone feels overall more smooth too
 
I've read that Android 15 + newer Pixel Launcher updates allow you to replicate some Nova's ability to have larger icons, cleaner folder/app animations, etc. Any truth to that? I love Nova, but the Pixel version of "At a Glance" trumps the version available to everyone else by quite a lot. There doesn't seem to be any way to truly approximate it, either.
 
Looks like I'm gonna have to RMA my Pixel 8. It's been getting the vertical pink line down the display sporadically. For now I can just bump the phone and it'll go away, but I expect it will get worse until the display outright fails. I'm guessing it's a loose or defective ribbon cable to the display or something. I found a Reddit thread of several others having the same issue at least.

Normally RMAing would be a PITA since I live overseas and they don't like shipping anything with batteries to me. But fortunately I'm going to be in the US for the next few weeks, so hoping to handle it while I'm there.

Google's retail support is typically both good and fast. It reminded me of Amazon. Not very "personal" (for better or worse), but super quick and with the results you want. One of those other perks of having a Pixel that you don't usually think about.

Google referred me to a local Ubreakfix store and they swapped my display in about an hour. Can't get much more convenient than that. 😎

They were good for me before when I had to RMA a Nexus 6P that I got used but was still less than a year old at the time. So I expected decent service again this time am am glad to report it was pretty stellar this time as well.

It's mediocre to begin with, so less than mediocre after several cycles of battery wear.

My Pixel 8 seems to refuse to quick charge now too. Hooked up my my 45w and 65w USB PD chargers, Ampere only shows it charging at around 500mA, yet it says quickly charging on the lock screen and battery settings, and it is indeed charging slow as balls. No issues with the same chargers on my wife's 6 Pro. Very annoying when you're in Cleveland right now in the middle of a major power outage due to a storm and I'm trying to charge all of my devices at a book store before going back. At this rate, I'll have to wait 2.5 hours just to charge my phone. Even when I'm not using it with the display off.

I always had issues with the type c port on all the pixel phones I had after a few months.

I pulled it yesterday while I was waiting for my phone to charge.

I rarely use or care about fast charging, but now that I need it during this power outage, it's very annoying that it's functionality useless on my phone. It seems to charge at full speed for just a few mins until the phone heats up and then throttles to 5 watts 😑.

Dealing with the after effects of that Tuesday storm myself. Saying some areas will be another week until power is restored. Hope I'm not one of them! Good luck and safe travels.

What percentage do you charge your phone at? I usually charge mine from 70% until completed
 
For good or for bad I flipped over from a pixel 3a to 8a. After an afternoon of copying data, flipping on settings, and downloading updates all seems good.

So far good battery, only warming up to with updates, and compliments from folk onore clear calls.

You mean charge my phone to? I try to cap most charges to 80% if I don't think I'll need a full charge for the day or I know I'll be near a charger at least too bump it if I need to.

I end my days usually under 20% with 6 or so hours of screen time on the 8.

They offered/pushed it a month ago on October 15th. Your phone just finally notified you since you never updated it.

From what I've seen of my familes' Pixels, they generally get a notification a week or so after the update is released. But yeah I would think they would be better about notifying once it's available. Since I follow tech news and phone blogs, I just know when to check and get the update immediately.
 
pretty sure they were prioritizing the 8 and 9s first. I will say my 6 got it pretty quick. it also might be carrier influenced. I am google FI
