Pictures Of Your Dually Rigs!

Heres the Two Dualies I have now, ones a for fun in progress build since I can't afford parts for a new system yet >.<

Server is dual 1.34GHz tualtins with 2 GB ram, and the one on the desk is dual 750MHz coppermines with 384MB RAM

Here's some of one of my duallies, one of these days I'll get some more pics of the other 3.

That is a very nice Opteron box.

I'm planning to get dual quads for my next system(sadly wont be for a while, but my single core sempron s754, and dual p3s just aren't cutting it anymore >.<

New case for the messy one though, and the dell carefully tucked away.

+2 bonus pts for the ISA card.

What is that guy anyways?

Looks to be his audio card... krikey! And it has memory modules on it too, hmm...
Though whatever it is, it looks to have more chips than a casino, and probably more processing power than the space shuttle.

Actually, that's a Sound Blaster AWE32.
You're welcome. :)

loooool

omg funny

As old as that card is its always worked wonderfully for me. Granted the Audigy in my main computer can do more soft synth, but back when I got that card in the late nineties it was awesome.

Nice ring man! But please FIX those bends in the tubes going to your CPU water blocks!

that northbridge cooler, stock or aftermarket? it looks pretty wicked. If it is aftermarket can you post links?

Question, why did you choose to put your video card so far down? Instead of at the top with the sound card in the very last slot?

Nothing special here just a dual opteron 8346 with dual 9800 gx2's, 8gig of RAM. This is a folding rig, not for the [H]orde though. No this one is special.

Nice what is your total ppd?

who do you fold for?

It gets 24k ppd. The dual opterons are clocked a bit slow so I might add another single core 9800 in the near future. I've also changed the power supply from a 750W PC P&C to a 1kW Corsair. The heatsinks have also changed to quiet thermtake HSF's that I found at radioshack on clearance. Also I cleaned up the cabling.

I fold for myself. I started team in memory of a beloved pet who was by my side for almost a decade and who cancer took from me. While she was old and had lived a full life it's my way of remembering her. Between that computer and another I pull 26k ppd. I'm going to add another intel box over christmas so it should rise.

Dissimilar cards can have adverse affects on folding performance according to folders who have mixed cards in their systems. Maybe you should check the folding forum to get confirmation on production results with this combination.

Did you change the PSU because you were concerned the PCP&C 750 couldn't handle the load? I'm looking into possibly getting this PSU to replace a PCP&P 610W unit I have, which is doing fine with my dual Opteron 280s and dual 8800GT cards. The 750W version does have 4 PCI-E connectors and two of those are convertible to 8-pin.

I got away from PC P&C for the second time last year. First time was several years ago when I received almost 50% dead units in a shipment of a dozen or so 475's and they gave me a hard time getting them replaced but finally did it. Switched to Antec back then. This time 4x 850 units died in very short time period. PC P&C fixed them all under warranty (one had to be fixed twice) and they're all running fine, so I have to give them points for that. Just didn't want to go through it all again.

So, got one Enermax Galaxy DXX EGX1000EWL psu to try and found it to be perfect for workstation, server, and gaming use. The first one in this workstation system (2x opty 254's, 6x hdd, 2x vid cards, etc etc) has been running for over a year and the lack of psu noise is amazing. Got another one for gaming system (q6600 at 3.1+, 8gb, 2x radeon hd 2900xt, 4 raptors, titan amanda tec cooler) and it handles all that with ease (sometimes trips the ups when I turn on the system though). Third dxx 1k went in one of the servers (2x opty 254's, 4gb, 12x hdd). The workstation and server run almost 24/7, and the game box ran 24/7 for a few months burnin time. Oh and these psu's have 2x native 8-pin pcie connectors along with 3 or 4 6-pin pcie plugs.

The Enermax units are a bit costly but worth every penny. (Ewiz has em for $240us right now, but I'd go with someone else even if they charge more - just my opinion). Highly recommended power supplies.

I thought the 750W couldn't handle the load because i heard a squealling sound coming from somewhere inside the PC but it seems it could. It's a good power supply and i'll be using it in my next intel build.

I know about the dissimilar GPU problem, I'll try to match SP on each core.

Going back to page one of this brings back memories of my Athlon 1600+ MP. I loved that thing even though I had lots of issues with it. With two heatsinks that had those crazy loud Delta fans it was just a dream (for back then)

I remember having to mod my Inwin full tower so that I could get those huge ECC DDR ram chips to fit. They would not fit under the hard drive bay so I had to remove and mount it on the bottom of the case.

Sadly I have no internal pictures, which boggles my mind as to why I never took any.

Are you sure it's the PSU?
I know that NV's analogue power tends to squeal at high load such as folding.

At first I thought it was the PSU and then after replacing that I thought it was the video cards. But I have two of them and they both make the noise if they're in there alone so I did some moving around and it's the motherboard. I moved the video card to the lowest PCI E slot and the sound is coming from the middle. I don't know what it is but I'll probably advance RMA the board. It's a decent board.

I bought some plastic heat shrink wrap to put over the inductors(??) I heard somewhere this might help and it won't hurt to try.

pics from before I cleaned it, pretty old, but meh, not much has changed.

I don't have pics of my other rigs, among them are a Sun Fire V60x, bunch of laptops, and another custom system..

And last but not least, my single-core box.. the Sinclair QL :D

Copy/paste links.

I just decommissioned my dually rig.

Dual 2400XP-M (35 watt) @ 2.45Hz (1.75v, 18x136) on Gigabyte GA-7DPXDW-P
4x ATA HDDs, 1x SCSI HDD ~800GB
Turtle Beach Montego Sound Card
Radeon 9800 Vid Card
1GB of DDR RAM
DVD Burner Drive
OCZ PSU

Here are some photos of the disassembly process...

And here is the Quad Core Intel rig that is replacing it. For once I can actually get somewhere with wire management on this thing :)

1x Intel C2Q Q8200 (4x 2.33GHz, 45nm)
4GB of DDR2 RAM (533MHz, 5-5-5-15)
1x SATA HDD, 2x ATA HDD ~1.3GB
EVGA NVIDIA 9500 GT
DVD Burner Drive (SATA)
Hauppauge TV Card

Omg that's hardcore. A pvc elbow joint!

I sold my above multi cpu system above. It was fun to play around with but I got something that consumed less power and was simpler to mantain.
