Performance-PCS seems to be having a nice sale in their Specials section. They have GPU water blocks marked down for the GTX 1080, RX 480, etc. Bunch of random stuff that you may have never known that you needed in there. You can even use with Amazon Pay to checkout if you like. I have only used their basic shipping and its always been fast for me. YMMV.

    Basic website.

There website is really fast so if you change the number of items seen to 90, it will still load quickly.

    Enjoy!

Even if you don't need stuff from there it is always fun to look at stuff like these chillers.

    Love PCS.com!

Albeit, I ordered a bunch of stuff I didn't need - including some gift credit. Listed if [H] anyone is interested!

Was randomly looking for Yate Loons on their site a few days ago and saw they were on sale. Are they still the best CFM/dB fan?

YL were almost never the best CFM/dB fan, they were a "good" fan that was cheap, nothing more.

Yeah, great CFM/$, and they aren't THAT loud. I think the Gentle Typhoons are the king of CFM/dB.

CFM/dB varies. The GT fans are great on rads/HS, but there are other fans that will do better in open air/case setups. GT's also seem to be hit or miss, as some people have had them for reviews and get those low numbers, but have an annoying ticking sound, all of mine, even the ones I have had for years don't have this, but maybe I am just lucky. The GT are a top choice for me because of many factors, one being build and life span, even if they are a touch louder in case fan setting.

Get the $5 Scythe Glidestream PWM instead. OR, you can go with the 1200rpm Slipstreams.

I would withhold that suggestion until you know what he is using the fans for.

I'm actually using 2 D12SH-12 on my Megahalems and figured it would be nice to have some spares that could double down as case fans. But that Scythe Glidestream does appear to push more air and is quieter..

Don't look at mfg numbers, they are all lies. Also any testing done is in free air, not even a case setup, no less a Rad/HS setup, if these are for HS/case use, look at the GT fans, not the Glidestream.

Buy one of each and you will understand why once you have it in your hand. Performance on something restrictive will be quite large in favor of the GT fan as well. They are also only sleeve bearing and the ones I got within a year or so time started showing a ticking sound that got loud enough I had to remove them, and this was in my main rig that was not on 24/7, the GT fans I got before those were in my server, thats on 24/7, and those fans are still running away just like their first day and with better performance. Had I got replacements for the other, and assuming the same sort of life span, I would be over the cost of the GT. The ones that were mounted to the rad on the top (which is bad mounting for sleeve fans) lasted less than one year.

Maybe I had bad luck with that batch, who knows, but life span on cheaper sleeve bearing fans can really be hit or miss, but that is where the price comes from, better performance, better build quality and ball bearing, the GT fans really are built like enterprise quality parts.

If you're after /cheap/ fans, and don't care about the return:
    https://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16835103052

They're stupidly cheap, and very quiet. I've been running some for ~8 mos now and they're still running strong. (All mounted in the front / rear of the case, mind you, so proper position)

I ordered a thermalright XP9 heatsink that said 775 in the title, as well as some swiftech helix fans.
The cooler didn't have the 775 bracket with it, and the fans appear to be pre used or from the scratch and dent isle or something. Setting up an RMA says I will lose 20% in restocking fee and have to pay shipping, which will be more then I paid.

Ill update this if they make it right, but if not, Ill never order from them again. I never had an issue with them in the past.

The PPCS sale area is always there but usually full of junk. If you want real deals check the Microcenter WC area. I remember way back buying EK blocks for under 10 bucks ea. It's worth it just for the high QL copper, you can resell it lol.

I've had to rma some things with them, besides the return ship it didn't cost me anything. For ex, sent back that new alphacool xpx eisblock block fopr being a pos, er I mean it was scratched up and a pos. They refunded me w/o a restocking fee. Another time my Koolance QDCs were missing some o-rings to which they sent some in an envelope.

GTs make an odd noise that drives me mad.

I've had some yates that I used for years. Yes there were different versions. There was a thread on xtremesystems years ago covering who was selling what.

I have a very. very old scythe s-flex in my system right now. I paid significantly less than I did for my GTs that I hate.

Martin's liquid lab doesn't show a huge difference in terms of any of the fans that I mention on a rad. I could even hear the annoying noise of the GT when his videos were up.

People fanboy that GT up. Its not all that.

What sort of noise? Very few people report GTs making an odd noise, most have been tracked back to some sort of shipping or handling damage. Outside of air turbulence, the 12+ GTs I have bought make almost no motor noise unless your ear is 6" away. Martin also stated the bearing noise from his fans and suggested in a forum post that the fans might have been bad samples, as he did hear one that did not have the bearing noise....HOWEVER, even with the noise on his samples, he still rated them the best out of all the fans outside of the less than 1,000rpm range, where he said it was a tie. He also mentioned in a forum post that while there was bearing noise, at the noise levels it is produced at, it was impossible to hear, the only other fans he rated highly were the e-loop fans, which he said were smoother at lower rpm than the GT, I have 6 of the e-loops back when they first came out and they made the GT's look super cheap. I would also rate them in the GT noise/cooling range, but at the time were very hard to find and very expensive for no real gain, I also have a feeling the GTs will outlast them.

Personally my main issue was when looking for silence. I was able to run my fdb and sleeve bearing fans at a higher speed without noticing. Which is/was my 24/7 fan speed anyway.

Typhoons can have a degree of motor noise around 1300rpm, a bump if you will. A small number of ppl are sensitive to the change in harmonics though I think its pretty rare.

If it's a super small RPM range it happens in....Don't run them there, seems like a simple fix for the massive advantage they have over most other fans. Seems silly to fault it for a slight gain in noise (still under others) at a single RPM range. Lots of fans have bearing noise or ticks etc etc at given RPM ranges that are AMAZING fans....You just don't run them there. As you would have to undervolt AP-14s to hit that, so you might as well just get AP-13s and never hear it.

I will hook up my old controller and test my old GTs out at this RPM range as well as all my new PWM GTs.

Got the refund today. Annoying part of this though, is that I also ordered three yate loons for $5 each in that order, that were fine and not returned. So because of the original shipping price not being refunded or even partially refunded, I basically paid $30 for three $5 fans.

I called them today and asked them if they were aware that Google had flagged them for malware on their website. They said that they had just migrated their servers to a newer and more secure platform and that they had been flagged immediately after the move. I hope they get it straightened out as I want to take advantage of the 12% off code!

I returned some stuff (kept a couple of items) and to avoid the 20% I will take the "credit" and buy a gift card and sell it for a 10% discount. I need the money for my daughters orthodontics work. So if anyone is looking to buy from performance and misses the 12% you can buy my gift card sometime next week :)

Ordered from them multiple times as I live in Florida and UPS ground is basically next day from their location. Great prices, always received my orders on time, and when I goofed up an order myself they helped me get the rights part quickly. Thumbs up on them as a vendor.

Yeah but the 20% returns is a killer. I hate having the hassle of having to buy a gift card and with the hopes of selling it for a discounted rate to avoid the 20% fee. It will make me think really hard on my next purchase. I know they are not like Amazon or another large company where they can take the hit but still people sometimes make mistakes on orders or like in my case an unexpected expense.
