Diablo2K said:After going thru ALL if this thread all I can say is WOW! very nice work. I truely wish I had the tools and space to do work like that, and one of the most important tools of all is SKILL! I got a Gigabyte 3D Aurora and I have more ideas than I do time or money, I really need to sit down, take everything out of it and start cutting!
Nice work!
el rolio said:well i tell you something, again i checked around perf-pcs website, evne tho i wont need to buy anythign til lat least mid next year, but i am prolly gonna want a s80 lian li, with a triple rad hole and grill cut out and all wires sleeved black. nice and simple and i cant wait! and by then you wouldd have had a couple hundred or so cases under yer belt yaaaay!
i wonder tho, if i preplanned my wiring holes, could i even go so far as to say, put 3 holes there, a rectangluar hole there and cover the edges with the rubber stuff"? haha awesome.
good work mane, keep it up!
Pas said:yeah, i bet those s80 cases are a pain to mod. i'm guessing they run a bit warm like a 6070b does, too. i know my 6070 runs warm. it has my old dfi ultrab mobo and 3200 cpu in it. i may have to fire that puppy up tomorrow just to see if it still runs. as for darkside's case, want to bet he gets a v1200b? i'll bet you some new handles for my case. if i win, i get the handles for free. if you win, i'l pay for the handlesbtw, i got the lian-li oem thumbscrews to work in my case. they secure the meshx panels rather well now.

Levell0rd said:You can't use thumbscrews to replace fan screws. They are not the same diameter. You can get regular and M3 screws to replace everything else, but you cannot replace the Buttonhead screws or the fan screws.

0mega said:working on a v2k this week (DoomRulz's) i just had to force them, apply a TON of pressure and make sure the screwdriver fits nicely and they shouldnt slip too much... it takes a LOT of work to make them thread the aluminum, but once theyve gotten through its easy getting them the rest of the way

Levell0rd said:In an effort to not get banned from the site, it would be best that a question like that be PMed to me rather than posted on here; don't want to break the rules. We don't install cathodes because of shipping damage. I can do the opticals if you wanted. The powerwatch and such is up to you. I can install the fans but I would rather not hook them up. I don't know which fan you want to whichever channel. I could probably do the dampening material too. But, no prices on the forums, but it would be expensive. Take some time and Hank charges a premium. Will help with whatever I can though.
Spartan611 said:Ok sorry about that I did not know. I will stick to pm's from now. Thanks though.

Levell0rd said:I'm not sure what's going on guys... When I use the steel mesh on a fan, I use the regular fan screw to attach everything. Are you talking about Filter-Rights? Those you have to drill out to use a regular fan screw.
Boyo said:Sorry for the confusion, Level. Omega and I are talking about 2 different things. I'm talking about the steel mesh that covers both my top blow hole and rear exhaust fan. I know you use regular fan screws to attach, but what I am talking about is the difficultly involved in getting them attatched. The steel mesh throws off the threading of the screw, so I am asking how you get them in so easily. What is your secret? I know you do this on a daily basis, but it's not easy.
Remember when my case came and 1 screw was missing from the top blowhole? I still to this day can't get that screw in. The steel mesh f's it all up.
THen I must be doing something wrong if I am having this much trouble. Let me go back to the drawing board and try again.........BTW, thanks for all of your help with this rig.Levell0rd said:I understood what you were talking about. I don't do anythig special. I just make sure that the screw holes line up with the fan, I don't even worry about the mesh. But, the mesh has fan holes cut in it already. Those have always been more than large enough to put the screw through with no trouble. Take a picture for me if you can!
