Steam is now showing the new DLC for MW2 ($13.49) and I cant help to notice all the screenshot are from consoles (xbox?). Are they really that lazy not to take PC screenshots.

I for one am not wasting my money for 3 new and 2 old maps. BFBC ftw. Who else agrees?

i haven't played a game of MW2 since the release of BC2, but i know i'll eventually pick MW2 back up. i'll purchase it then. i love overgrown and crash, and the new maps look good as well.

Can't wait.

I own both games and I prefer MW2 over BC2 any day of the week.

<--- IW/MW fanboy ;)

Steam ID: vdragonlance

crappy game, crappy online play..

not even worth a cent to play... they have to pay me to play it..

I will not be buying DLC for a game that I no longer play.

Also, Love the biased poll. So much for objectivity!

I was considering that too. But then I wondered how often I would actually play the game and then said screw it. I'd never touch it.

I bought it and played a total of 40 minutes on it so far since February lol don't waste your money

Was just noticing last night that my friends list on Steam shows over 300 hours of BFBC2 and less than 40 hours for MW2. TF2 and Borderlands had as many hours played than MW2.

Not *ever* paying for a map pack.

Yup, I will never pay for an expansion or map pack for an FPS again.

The last ones I spent money on were the BF1942 expansion: Road to Rome, Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe.

The maps felt rushed, the new weapons/vehicles were clunky, and within 3 months the expansion servers disappeared like they had never existed.

You can get all of MW1, including 2 of the maps from this pack for like a buck more on steam.

I spend $13.50 on brunch twice a month at this little Italian restaurant.

It's chump change, really. Might buy it, like the game pretty well.

I would consider buying the pack if it included some additional single player missions as well, but 5 new maps alone are not worth $15 to me. I enjoy the game, but I hate the matchmaking aspect of multiplayer and will not fund further developments of that idea.

What happens if you're in a lobby with a host that has these maps and you don't? Do you get booted when it goes to load the map?

yep.. it will just cause you to join a different lobby which is a bitch and half.. because it will constantly connect to a new lobby until it finds one that isnt playing the map you dont have..

Pretty much. I spend about $20 a day commuting. ~$13 bucks on something that will give me a bunch of hours of entertainment is worth it IMO. Purchased two, one for me and one for the kid ;)

This.

Its not anything protest related I just looked at the content and said "No" when I saw it on steam. I'm sorry anybody can make a map. "but but, it's hard." No, it's not. go to modDB sometime. Those fuckers work their asses off and make full conversions not asking for shit in return. I can think of about 20 other map makers and modders (like the Stalker complete guy) who deserve the money more.

Especially when it's a rehash of OLD maps. Now, if they added like 15 maps, it MIGHT be worth it, and that's only if I still played MW2. But 5 maps? And most are old? WTF. Talk about anal fisting your fans.....but then again they will eat it up as always

Expansions and map packs are not comparable. I thought Road to Rome made BF1942 even better.

However, I would NEVER pay for just a map pack

After trying both (did not buy MW2 though), I've come to a conclusion. Disregarding politics all together, even if MW2 did have dedicated servers, I find BC2 to be a much better multiplayer experience. I loved COD4 and logged countless hours on multiplayer, but the maps are constrained in comparison. In BC2 a person can actually snipe. You have to factor in more physical elements like bullet drop, building destruction, ect. You have access to multiple vehicles and the maps are large and spread out. BC 2 offers a shit ton experience apples to apples. You factor in the fact that MW2 is plagued with the absurd matchmaking system, all because of greedy fuckin business men, and there is no question, BC2 is the better game.

I could stomach $10 (I did on the 360 for prior CoDs). I can't stand the $13.49 price (10% discount!! Thanks Activison!!!). So I'm going to pass until a price drop. Or until I buckle when everyone else on my friends list is playing.

-sigh-

I see what you did there. They work on entire mods, think Natural Selection, Insurgency, Pirates Vikings and Knights 2, Empires, and Portal Prelude. Map making itself is relatively easy. Now while map making is easy, map balancing for a game like Natural Selection can become a long ongoing process. The maps in CoD are simplistic in comparison because it's a shooter where all you can do is walk on the group and jump and it's just a deathmatch game.

Just because something can be considered work doesn't mean it can't also be considered easy.

Some of the most fun I had on CoD4 were custom maps and mods made by the 'community'. Some people make really great ones. I played those more than the extra maps released by IW (other than Broadcast).

There are countless custom maps and mods on CoD4 not made by IW. They even have a Star Wars mod which is hilarious and fun. It's a shame that they 'disallowed' the ability to play custom ones.

Already bought it, a couple of friends are also picking it up. They were already planning on buying it for the regular price, but a buck off isn't bad. We found a nice balance between MW2 and BFBC2, sometimes we just feel like closer infantry and sometimes we feel like blowing shit up in a tank. All 'n all we are hoping for more classic maps (Killhouse and Crossfire).

Have you ever tried to make professional level, retail, commercial quality gaming levels?
