PC Games going Bye Bye

Again...I'm not understanding why it keeps being stated that Gamestop no longer sells PC games. As I said before, I bought a PC game from a local Gamestop last week. If Gamestop did not sell PC games, I couldn't have achieved such. Ergo...

And many people still play old console games. And there are plenty of negative reasons for sticking with one game on the PC. 1 is there aren't enough good PC games for them to want to play, or 2 their hardware can't run the sequels, so they stick with what they have.

PC gaming won't die completely, but if there aren't plenty of awesome, quality games coming out for the PC soon by the developers still in the PC market, there will not be a reason to justify buying these $500 video cards. That means nvidia and ATI won't waste their time making them, and that will be when next-gen console gaming will pull ahead in the technology department. Let's face it, you don't need much to run the popular mmorpgs, counter-strike, and starcraft.
 
Console Games are designed on Computers :p

Most parents would much rather buy their kids a $300 Xbox than a $2000 computer.

Hell 1/2 the people I know with PS3's bought it as a Blueray player and don't even own games for it hah.
 
those stores used to sell tons of games, i think what happened is they stopped selling used/older games. I remember gamestop having wall to wall pc games like 5 years ago, Everything from really old to New. Now all these places, you are lucky to find the PC gameing section. Its like 1 or 2 shelves on a random rack somewhere in the store (well not at bestbuy)

I love pc games, but the last game I actually purchased was BF2142, other wise I do get them else where, and if the game is good I'll purchase it once it get to 19.99 or below in cost.

Pc gaming is only for those who can afford it anymore. Your 500 dollars PC from dell will not run any games out today and thats what most PC users own. Consoles on the other hand, anyone can use and its cheaper (cept PS3)

So it kind of makes sense for the stores not to carry pc games. You can get the free and consoles are just more profitable to them. they dont sell PC in EbGames but they sell wii,xbox,ps,ds hardware plus the games and accessories.

It still sucks, Its pretty sad when walmart sells more games than a dedicated gaming store.
 
Hello All,

Just wanted to share my views has an electronic consumer. I remember my first PC, a 386 and my first PC game, Wolfensteen. Anyways, I got frustrated with all the tuning required and constant upgrade required to run PC game and got a Nintendo 64, my favorite game at the time was Donkey Kong and Star Fox 64. I was in my early 30s at the time. Then came the Sony playstation 1 which I bought and had fun with followed by the Playstation 2. Now in my late 30s for some odd reason by PC hardware at the time could handle a PC game called Command and Conquer Generals and really had a blast and realized how much I enjoyed RTS games but somehow kind of lost track and got back into the PS2. The PS2 served my very well for the racing genre and not much into FPS.

Now at 45, I looked at the Xbox 360 along with the reviews and feel sorry for those who got a bad system and the whole mess. The WII caters to much younger customers and is not for me. The PS3 is a natural evolution I guess, I have not yet decided on getting one however. To expensive, for a console, lack of games and poor sales puts me in stand by I guess. Sure blue ray is nice but it’s still too early in my opinion.

Now I must admit that I feel that my gaming needs are not being fulfilled. Then Command and Conquer 3 came out and remembered the fun I had years ago. Then, I looked at all the other RTS games out there such as Supreme Commander, Company of Heroes and the upcoming Statecraft II and DX10 titles in the works. So the kicker his this. I really enjoy RTS games and no console will serve them to me.

I’m expecting my new PC gaming desktop to arrive any day now and have 3 RTS games at my desk ready to be played. Will I eventual upgrade my PS2 for a PS3? Not sure because I think that I will be served the same thing over again but in high definition.

But bring on RTS games on console using a wireless keyboard and mouse and I’m back in.
