I want to give a warning in this thread that several members have come close to breaking the EVGA terms of service. Please everyone, beware of the subliminal tactics of HardOCP in this thread in an effort to break EVGA forum members away from our team or stop folding altogether.

If this thread continues in this fashion we'll have no choice but to lock it.

The very last post I saw in that thread (the Mod, rjohnson) was indeed ridiculous. Threatening to close the thread because of what? I didn't read or see anything in that thread that justified even making that kind of remark. :eek: I guess some people just get carried away when they get a little bit of authority, or feel threatened just by someone else's presence.
 
meh to lazy to check the thread.. evga's forum takes for ever to load..

but enjoy reading the bickering.. sign their teams starting to fall apart.. :p
 
Well, the good thing is......... We have 'em running scared. I saw one post there stating his thoughts about catching us, something about "Infinity and Beyond". We have held them to 2 months for several months due to the influx of new folders. Friendly competition is great. :D

Ouch, not good in a mod. A mod needs to be burnt out enough to not care what or why the kids are arguing about, but not quite burnt out enough to quit. ;)

I think he has "a dog in that hunt" as they say. But the mood over there is brittle, which is odd, as [H] is the team being overtaken.
 
With 2 mods like that, and the general attitutude of the team that wants the spot light so bad but crys when people are looking at them and see things, they wonder why they are the laughing stock of the folding world. It's a shame shit like this happens and no one can take them seriously cuz they've got some good guys over there.

I just started checking threads here since yesterday but the attitude of EVGA mods are worthy of a "facepalm" especially when WE should be the one scared of losing... Let me tell all of you a good bit of advice : Show them that we may be competitive but we first fold for the cure and we will take the high road with our dedication ;)

Shadow, that can't be a bribe!! They had a member make an excell sheet and a bar graph, so that proves that those 5000$ worth of products a huge company is giving out isn't anything

Sorry to resort to this, but - that mod is a douche. Lurking other posts there, that guy is a complete and utter douche. People post questions about SR-2 cases, he can't copy and paste their "official case list" quick enough. He also shoots down any rumor or speculation that anything else can be modded to fit the SR-2 which we all know is BS.

In all seriousness I think I can safely say for all of us as a team, we don't hold grudges or "hate" EVGA (as you said, Tobit). I would hope that the majority of the members over there know that, but sometimes I guess it needs to be said anyway, when you have people like rjohnson running around and 'the sky is falling! the sky is falling and we must go and tell the king!'.
 
Taking the idea further - can we buy time on Russian mafia controlled botnets, and fold?

Or perhaps it would be more ironic if Bill Gates did instead, maybe DC to cure malaria, using the botnets made possible by secure PCs.
 
I personally wouldn't even consider folding for EVGA just because of the shitty forum software. I can't see how any of them can stand it.

The little pop ups and all that bullshit just to post? seriously? and no mobile forums? I can't post anything on their boards on my iphone cuz their pop up shit doesnt work right on iphone. Hard and Hardmobile both work great for me

I hate how its like 4 clicks to edit a post, and the page ras to reload like 3 times. Ug

Hey fellas...sorry it came to this point on the respective forums.
I've looked through [H] the past few days and you all really are a great community, also. Very tight knit and look out for each other, which I respect. And educated as hell!
Anyway, just thought I'd come over with an olive branch and say that I hope our race to 4 billion, and afterward to #1, can take an upturn from here-on with mutual understanding and with the mindset that nobody is perfect. Certainly mods are not...believe me.
I truly do wish you all luck in your quest, and in the end we all win through this folding.

Again, as I've said on EVGA more than once, my view on forums is that they are here to spread knowledge and help people.

In all seriousness I think were in the better, I mean, EVGA has thousands wrapped up in grabbing new folders, we are much smarter than that, we use Dark Archons to just control them, all it takes is a little energy, and in 2-3 minutes it just regenerates itself, EVGA spends the money, we just take over their folders one mind at a time muhahaha

In defense of EVGA for the Bucks thing, my opinion is that it is so overrated.
Think about it, going over 250,000 folding points in a month, you are spending much more than $10 extra on the electricity bill used to power said machine.
Besides, it all goes to purchasing the EVGA products anyways, which you all have been doing with the SR-2 like crazy I see
