So my fan stoped working in my PS so I take it apart unplug it and plug it back in just to see if it magicly starts working and when I turn it on to see if the fan turns on my elbow was touching the two big metal things inside the PS and I got a good shocking hurt like a bitch.

The question is will the power supply work like normal after is shocks the hell out of someone or should I get a new one.

dont know if it matters but it's an Antec smartpower 500w
 
Shocking you probably didn't hurt the PSU, but it depends on what you touched. ("Two big metal things" is VERY vague)

However I strongly urge you to get rid of that PSU as soon as humanly possible. I've seen so many Antec Smartpower units with bad caps it's unreal. Spend a hundred bucks on a nice Corsair unit. :)
 
put it back together seems to work fine no point it thread anymore.

Yes, but check the capacitors in there for bulging and leaking before you put it back together again. As mentioned, these were some of the most troublesome Antec units out there for cooking capacitors. And if the fan died, that's practically guaranteeing capacitor issues on these things.
 
It seems to be working fine but I was planning on getting a new one when I upgrade to a 8800gt so I'll use it until then.

This isn't my PS but it looks similar but I touched the top two white metal parts that are in the middle.

Well two comments. I'm pretty sure you are referring to the heatsinks in your PSU. If they did shock you, then I feel that something may be bad in your PSU, I don't believe they should be charged up at all unless something was short circuited. Other thought, is is possible they were just really hot and you felt burned as opposed to shocked?

hahaha no I know the difference between hot and electrocution I have been both burn and shocked many times not similar at all.

Damage wise only difference between AC and DC is that DC doesn't cause "heart problems" that easily, otherwise both have similar primary effect, meaning burns.
AC just makes situation often more dangerous because if you touched live wire with finger or palm muscle cramps might make you grab rather firmly from that live part. (and if current goes through heart AC causes problems very early)

Just try normal 9V battery with your tongue if you don't believe DC shocks.

It's time bomb in any case no matter did you temporarily short anything in it.
