Ossic 3D HTRF Headphones

Normally I am suspicious of hardware kickstarters but these seem to have some pretty big industry vets working on the design, a bunch of ex logitech hardware designers. The CEO of THX seems to have a boner over them.

I dunno.. gut feel here is this is somewhat gimmicky and I'm suspicious of how they are tracking and how good that tracking is as well as how they would be calibrated. VR HMD's already track/position your head VERY precisely and alter the audio stream accordingly based on where the sound sources are in 3-space in relation to your head. I don't see these headphones working with that, and what you feed them would have to be specially recorded with these headphones in mind in order for this to work...
