This game is sweet, just picked it up, playing it on Vista 64, runs smooth as silk. Graphics are awesome, gameplay is fun as hell. I just barly got to vegas!! That helli ride above the vegas strip was KILLER!... well looked like vegas (I've been there like 10 times I should know).

I just picked it up today as well (and I just got the Vegas).

It probably doesn't run as "silky" as yours, but still looks amazing with graphics maxed, res at 1280x900, and 4xAA. It runs from about 20 to 35 fps.

I love the motion blur; it really helps to smooth things out.

This game is SO fun.

Yes I agree Vegas is a great game. I play it on my 360 and still enjoy it very much, even though I am very anti FPS's on a controller.

Awesome game.. period. I am very happy with it and finally can accept another GOOD title from UBI.

Heh after playing RB6:Vegas, when watching Rocky and Smokin' Aces, I couldn't help but compare the camera fly-bys over the real-life Vegas to the game.

I seriously think that this will be a game I actually finish. Its been amazing so far.

now if only we can get proper widescreen support. 4 patches and no native WS. what a complete joke.

no 1920x1200? damn

I might get this game anyway but come on! Just glad my 24" Acer stretches res without looking weird.

probably a million times more fun when playing coop with another person. Fun factor multiplied as you add more people :D .

I know that the frame rate is bad, (about 18-30 for me), but it doesnt seem as bad when I *dont* have Fraps up. Staring at the numbers seems to make things more choppy.

Same here. Cover on the left trigger is freakin' sweet.

And yes, co-op is miles more fun than anything else. Terrorist hunts with 3 or 4 guys are awesome.

Just use the squ1zzy respatcher file, it's easier.

Does co-op multiplayer work on the PC online?

No. SM 3.0 is required to play this game.

People (including me) used to laugh at the thought of getting a 6800 for SM3.0 support... kind of ironic in a way that now people who didn't do so are regretting it. (I've upgraded a few times since, but for those who don't upgrade as often... :().

How do you use those ".bin" files?

I found this posted on another site,
There is no wide screen or TFT resolution support in the game, you can edit the configuration file stored under my documents to get higher resolutions but doing that involves using a hex editor. Using wide screen resolutions means a messed up HUD as there is no way of changing the F.O.V in game or via configuration files, i've tried and it made no difference.

I've included some configuration files which have been edited for 960x600, 1280x800, 1440x900, 1680x1050 and 1920x1200 which are all 16:10 resolutions and 1280x1024 for normal TFT's, game settings are at medium, providing you do not alter the display resolution ingame you can increase or decrease detail settings as you wish.

Rename and Copy the file of the resolution you want to the following locations.

Rename file to R6GameConfig.bin

Place the renamed file in your "My Documents\Ubisoft\R6Vegas" folder over write if you get prompted.

R6Vegas.rar

File is hosted on putfile.com size of file is 2,899 bytes (2.8kb)

it's a good shooter game with really good graphics. although i think i'm the only one to miss the old Rainbow 6 games, where you control multiple teams, and have to worry about position, and 'tactics.' R6Vegas just seems too much of a shoot-em-up game, but it's definitely fun in its own way.

Its the first game that ive played on the hardest setting that has really given me a run for my money, They checkpoints are pretty well spred out in many areas needing to take out 20+ guys in 3 rooms before you have the chance to save, and there is no save options, That is what makes it really fun for me, and the fact i love vegas so that helps

Even though I'm a huge fan of Ravenshield, I like the simplicity of R6 Vegas. The AI of the characters are definitely much better than the previous games, and I love switching between "infiltrate" and "assault" on the fly (instead of having your soldiers go by a set plan in from the Planning Room.)

Great game, graphics and animation are especially impressive however most of it's other traits are also fairly decent.

Hella fun in Coop as well :)

At the moment i am really struggling between getting GoW or Vegas for my 360. Im aware this is the pc fourm but, like i said i cant decide. Im going to pick up either GoW or Vegas by friday and cant really decide. Ive tried the demo for vegas on 360 and i was fairly impressed but Gears of War man! Ah well ive still got 3 days to decide.

I totally agree! With the old style R6, if your plan wasn't correct ahead of time your team was toast. To me this style is more realistic because even the best and most well prepared plan doesn't work at some point. A good leader is good at planning ahead of time. A great leader is good at planning when the shit hit's the fan. It's nice to be able to make your team fall back on the fly and reposition them with a few point and clicks of the mouise on a route with plenty of cover. Especially since it seems the AI concentrates their fire on me as soon as I squeeze the trigger. Once I move my team I can differ the enemy fire long enough to take out mutiple men. It's simple, but very effective in outnumbered situations. Which are frequent in this game.

do u have any screenshots?

I got your screenshot right here...

Fight.jpg

Rig in sig w/ NO AA, lol. :p Just finished the 1st Casino and it's def good times. I tried enabling AA through some tweak and got mad texture issues. Anyone successfully running AA on an 88 w/ decent frames?

yeah thats what i want too know is there any possible way to run AA on Vegas. or is ubi still doin the same thing as GRAW no AA.

No AA as far as I've seen....I tried enabling it on my card but it did nothing to either the image or my frames.

cool thanks for the screen :D
i think im gonna buy this now

do you guys think i could play it on this ? :
core duo @ 1.73 ghz
1 gb ram @ 533 mhz
nvidia geforce go 7900 gs

You guys did notice the framerate in the upper left corner, right? :(
That poor frame-rate is really only an issue when fighting outside in large areas like that. My frame-rate was just fine inside and such. (around 30-40 with graphics maxed except for motion blur set for "high", 1280x960 res, 16xAF)

I just finished the game. I didnt think the ending was a bad cliff-hanger at all. I loved this game, and I'm going to go back through it again sometime. The fights towards the end were simply badass.

dammit, I just re-installed Vista because I got a new HD, and now I seem to have lost my checkpoint file!! Ubisoft stores it in My Documents\Ubisoft.... (instead of the actual game dir).

Could anybody share the single player checkpoint file with me? I had just finished the first casino...

TIA...
