Right now I feel like I'm not needed anymore in the community, almost no one is sponsoring my work and I feel like a left over, I don't even feel like making any other driver set since I think it will be another worthless effort

Angel Trinidad over at omega drivers is having a hard time. Besides the above quote he goes on to say he and his wife are unemployed with the support from his drivers dwindling. I've been using his drivers for 6 months and they are terrific. We need to help in any way we can. It would be tragic to loose such a valued member of the community. Try to help if you can.

Omega is god.

Short, simple, and to the point...and OH SO FUCKIN TRUE!

Support this man, Use that money you waste on SLI and give these guys the boost they need. :D

Personally, I never use modded drivers, though I know many who do. (XtremeG seem most popular now).

It sucks when you are going through a rough time, hopefully the driver author will get past it.

That being said, I am not a fan of this particular modder due to his affiliation with DriverHeaven and his postings on their forums - the moderators of which are often rude, biased, and condescending - especially when proven wrong. That's my own opinon, though, and it doesn't mean I don't hope he gets through his particular current crisis okay.

In the end though no one owes him anything - if you want to give him money, okay, but the particular occupation he picked is not a money making one. Perhaps he should expand his programming scope to something that can generate income.

Omega
Many of my visitors are young and may not understand the reason behind why a "donation" or "sponsorship" is needed, specially in my situation, since many of you still live with your families or are part of a rich family and have nothing to worry about in the economic area, but for the rest of you that do have plenty of resources, remember that an act of good faith will be always be compensated by God.

Let us pray

Well said. I completely agree.

In addition to his affiliation with Driverheaven and their biased review practices, I also found his drivers to be very incompatible and of low reliability. His modded drivers were the only ones that caused my computer to BSOD and crash, thus forcing either a complete reinstallation or backup from a clean image. (I'm referring to my experiences when I used to run a ATI Radeon 7000, ATI Radeon 9800NP,and an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro).

This may sound cold and heartless, but I'm glad to see one set of unreliably created modded drivers to disappear from this world.

As for him asking for finnacial help by associating God to it, I don't like that one bit.

omg If I was 18 years old and had paypal or a credit card or something..or even a check hehe I would send some money :) his drivers were great when I had a 9800xt ;)

i hate omega drivers. they were so horrible when i installed them. But im not a mean person so best of luck for him

I've been using his drivers since my 9700 Pro, which means at least six different configs. In all honesty, if I weren't a broke college student in the midst of Spring Break season, I'd send over a few bucks. When I get back from Iceland and AZ I'll see how much I have left from my budget.

No thanks. His drivers aren't exactly great or even good for that matter. XtremeG > Nvidia > Omega. Good luck to him in getting a job and I hope he does get one, but I hope he closes shop because his feelings are true about his drivers.

-Alex-

Hopefully he can find a job. It isn't as easy as it used to be. I know - getting into a mere McDonald's in my area is nearly impossible.

i like ati drivers more than nvidia actually. Every new nvidia driver is like a new version of windows, gota wait a few weeks to see if its ok to update. ATI has been stable and updated on a regualr basis ever since i started using ati (about 3 years ago from a geforce 4)

Maybe he should stop writing drivers then and look for a job. I mean nothing against his drivers but if you don't have a fucking job and are looking to other people to support your hobby then there's something wrong.

I agree. His post makes him sound like a cry baby. If he doesn't like the modded driver scene maybe he should just stop making drivers instead of crying about it and begging for donations.

I understand if you people don'tlike his drivers, but howcome you are being such pricks?

All said and done, his drivers are awesome, gained me some 1000 points in 3D Mark 2001.

actually.. I only used omega drivers on my dell laptop.. it allowed me to install the latest catalyst drivers... instead of waiting for dell to update theirs. (which they rarely did)

Pricks? All they are saying is that they don't feel like giving a guy money for something they don't think he deserves. It's not like you're lining up to give ME money for nothing. And I'm not even calling you a prick because of it :).

Also, it's hard to feel sorry for someone complaining about having no money when said person has no job.

ever hear of patje's mobility modder? use official RELEASE catalyst drivers the day they are released by ati.

omegas are stale on arrival.

That sucks. The Omega 4.12 Betas were the only drivers my 9800 pro would play everything correctly with (not to mention go to 405/385 on stock cooling).

To tell you the truth.. the whatever the drivers are on my laptop are now but I know they are old.. I haven't bothered keeping it current.. lol.

Installed Omega's one time (when people were saying they rocked). They screwed up badly in lots of games. Uninstalled them and never used modded drivers again.

I'd most likely be using them if it wasn't for the fact that none of the driver sets from him (that I have played around with) have VIVO support.

I tried the Omega drivers and didn't care for them. The quote that the OP provided smacks of 'boo hoo, nobody is paying attention to me'.

Damn, I thought people had more sucess than that. They worked fine for me, and gave me a little extra performance and options. I thought they were good, it's too bad i'm broke though.

Because most of them are angry virgin computer nerds.

If some guy walked up to you on the street and said "will h4x0r yuor drivers for teh monies" you'd be like "no fux off nublar".

I actually dontated £5 or $10 to him and never got a slight mention of thanks :p

Also sent him$10 about 3 months ago and never heard anything.

I can understand that modding drivers can be a task, but I would not think someone could make a living doing this. I think he needs to get a real job. I see modding drivers as more of a hobby. I also don't like that he is expecting money. I would think this might be a gray area and he could get into trouble from ATI.

I am sorry that he is having hard times (I have had mine,) but really he needs to get his priorities strate. We don't really owe him anything and he owes us nothing as well...

my 9200 went from 250/200 to 315/245 with the help of omega 4.12 . catalyst couldnt even unlock the 9200. it gained ~900 on 3dmark01 :)

Well, I've tried to use his drivers in the past, but over the course of several releases and different machines there was always a problem.
He was supposed to be teaming with Alienware for the money cause their laptops were going to start using his drivers. Wonder why that fell through.

I only use official drivers, that way when something goes fubar, I know why.

Sucks. :( I wish him the best. I use omegas on a m6805 and they work great. The official drivers do not run at 1280x800 on this machine, while the omegas do.

I think his drivers are good, but there are definitely better drivers. I also don't like his attitude. In the first version of his post he ranted about how not everyone is a rich kid whos parents pay for everything. Ya.. well those same rich kids that would have sent you, a person who rich community members pay for everything, ain't gonna send you anything. Keep praying.

ATI actually released a public statement of SUPPORT for his modded drivers. Basically saying that if you're going to use a modded driver, use his.

Then ATI can pay him :).

I do like the Omega Drivers alot, and have donated in the past

but in response to his statement, I just really have one thing to say.

"GET A JOB"

unforunatly to attempt to make a living by modifying drivers and getting donations seems like a poor career choice.
