Official Crysis 2 Thread

They really should remove hints like "tactical options available" in all but the easiest difficulty levels.

did I read what post? I was saying the video will not work. and actually your twitter link does not work either. 0/2 :p

They just took the twitter link down. Sorry you didn't get a chance to see it, it said:
CRYTEK TIAGO: "Cooking some great DX11 tech bits for C2 fans, be patient guys. All I can say, is that we have 16 ms or more to have fun with pc hardware..."

It was also posted earlier:
http://hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=1037033534&postcount=1142

I said the video wasn't available in the US and looking for another source, but you still pointed out it didn't work, pretty redundant.

sorry I am blind and did not even notice you said that right above the video link.

Crytek has been locking all threads related to the DX11 tweet at mycrysis.com. Looks like that employee let the cat out of the bag too soon. They'll probably blame that on piracy too.

These topics are being deleted because a lot of the information linked to them is not accurate and we do not want to send the community the wrong message. Any other topics created on this subject will be removed and the account may be suspended creating.

Well that is slightly better than COD games.
yes but those games are predominantly multi player focused. people like me that only care about single player really have to wait to games drop to below 30 bucks and preferably even 20 to get any value.

I've played about 2 hours of the SP so far, nothing in MP.

Probably spent another 2 hours just trying to make the damn thing run with Crossfire enabled.

how long is the single player game time?

It took me about 8-9 hours on highest difficulty. Just keep pressing E (uncloak), A (armor + zoom in/steady aim), E (cloak again) over and over while getting headshots and you'll breeze through the game.

I was thoroughly disappointed at the end. I was expecting some spectacle or some grand boss like on the carrier in Crysis 1. There's quite literally nothing at the end. What a bummer.

I went through the game at a normal pace and clocked in a little over 6hrs total by the end. It didn't feel short to me though.

Did anybody ever play the Punisher arcade game? Remember when you had to fight those big robot bosses and the more damage you did, the more parts fell off them and the more damaged they got?

I really wish the big boss mechs in Crysis 2 were like that. There's no indication of how much damage you are doing. You just keep unloading all your explosive and higher powered weapons on them over and over again (they remain clean and shiny as ever, they often don't even have animations for when they are hit by anything) and eventually you just hit the magic number that = total hit points and the thing falls over.

Not quite true. When you do damage to them, they start to have elecricity wrap around them. The more electricity, the more they're damaged.

So I just finished the game on Post-Human Warrior difficulty (second time through, first time was on Normal). I spent time collecting things my second time through. After my first playthrough I noticed that my found weapon attachments was at 12/13. On my second time through, I started picking up every weapon to see whether or not I hadn't found an attachment yet. I didn't find any "locked" (not found) attachments, so I was wondering if anyone has actually gotten 13/13 attachments yet?

you do realize AF doesn't work with POM enable right?

Also, most likely you cherry pick the images from what I am seeing..

yup, vanilla crysis, no mods, no tweaks, fresh install, dx10 at its finest.

the rocks are the first thing you see coming out of the water. the tree is at the first enemy encounter. the shack is at the dramatic sunset. the rest is along the way / what happens when you wander off a little. it's almost all stuff that you'd have to go out of your way to avoid.

you get to skydive down (up?) a tube of alien particulates while on fire. that's pretty cool, kinda.

Really? You get to crawl 5 feet forward in what amounts to a red tube. It's basically a 30 second cutscene where you press "W" to advance it. It's like the ending of COD4 except you don't do anything cool at the end after you finish crawling. It just ends. It was totally anti-climactic. You play this whole game waiting to see what it really is like inside the alien's ship which looks enormous from the outside (it's all tentacled and infested into Central Park and all you get is a 10 foot tube you crawl through? I thought it would be like the first Crysis where you got inside the ship and were floating around a huge area in zero-0 and it was a whole new level.

Instead, we get nothing, you crawl 5 feet, fall into the light. Prophet goes: "hey what's up man? No hard feelings but I'm possessing your body now!" and then it's over.

he wasn't possessing you.

prophet in effect becomes the suit ai. you respond with his name in honor of him because he totally helped you get shit done. you and him are totally a team now or something.

Lol. Confirmed? Wow MaxPC, wow. I guess I shouldn't expect good journalistic integrity out of them though. The so called confirming Tweet said:

I don't see any confirmation and in fact one of the Crytek community managers stated:

These topics are being deleted because a lot of the information linked in them is not accurate and we do not want to send the community the wrong message. Any other topics created on this subject will be removed and the creating account may be suspended.

So yeah still a rumor despite MaxPC showing their usual level of "journalism".

if you actually read (and comprehend) the MaximumPC article it says that they have confirmed the DX11 patch release with Crytek...so it is no longer a rumor but a fact

Bullshit they did. If Crytek isn't talking to anyone else they're not going to talk to MaxPC. They're referencing the so-called confirmation from the source.

sorry but "now confirmed by Crytek" means that they spoke with Crytek directly and they confirmed the leaked story...of course they still are trying to somewhat keep it under wraps but the patch will be released today

If you read the original source they said it was confirmed by Crytek in a tweet. Crytek would admit it to a better and bigger site first. MaxPC is a horrible publication with moron editors and shit writers. Why would Cryek bother to confirm it to them before bigger sites? And even if Crytek confirmed it to them the correct way to mention that is to say "a representative from Crytek confirmed that the patch will release tomorrow".

bigger sites?...lol...like what?...gamespot or ign?...MaximumPC is a very big site and they are a well respected publication...seems like you just have a bias towards MaxPC and want them to be wrong

Maybe they've changed, but when I stopped reading them they were freaking terrible. The editors were morons and the writing was complete shit.

Confirmed by Crytek?

I think they were referring to the twitter feed.

Anyhow, this DX 11 thing is being way, way, way overblown. Anybody who thinks DX 11 is going to make this already great looking game into The Second Coming is just plain nuts. I doubt most people will even be able to tell the difference.

I just want it to come out so Crytek can prove that they're capable of releasing shit they promise.

damn you guys really need to brush up on your reading comprehension skills...let me break it down for you...the MaxPC article stated the following: "According to a German website (and now confirmed by Crytek)"...meaning that they are not only referring to the original German website article BUT they have also confirmed it with Crytek...they are talking about 2 separate things hence the part where it says "and now confirmed by Crytek" meaning that the original article was not their only source

Since the source site has a BS confirmation it can mean either or. It could also mean that they're lying out of their ass.

No, let me break it down for YOU.

At the bottom of the translated article it clearly states that the confirmation via Crytek was from a Twitter feed.
