Seriously, it's any excuse to bash apple on this forum. Most posters can't even give apple any leeway and yet cry out "APPLE FANBOYS" whenever someone might post something slightly in favor of their products. It's getting really repetitive and lame. Oh noes they make something that is wildly excepted by lots of people... "BRAINLESS FANATICS!"

Other's in this thread have already posted a work-around to the NY Posts antics, which they are doing because lots of people probably use iPhones/iPads to look at their stuff. When they do it to android phones next, are you going to cry "fanbois!" then? It's coming, as soon as they think they can make enough money to justify the code.

I know the A5 is manufactured by Samsung, I educate people on that all the time. But the A5 is a nice short way of describing the SOC. That SOC includes a Dual Core PowerVR SGX 543 GPU. That GPU rapes any graphics in its path.

Since you’re so hard, tell me what good a discreet GPU really does if your OS can only software render?

Surely you’re so H that you know Android cant hardware render graphics right? Did you know that Hardware Graphics rendering will only finally come in Ice Cream Sandwich?

Problem is, the manufactures will take a year to update the phones. And most of the Android phones today are being released with weak ass GPUs to save cash. Since Android cant hardware render anyway, who cares? So it'll be 1.5-2 years before there’s an Android phone with the graphics capabilities of the 3GS.

Don't even get me started on matching the graphics power of the A5. Game fucking over bro. Looks like the iPhone is more of a beast then you thought. No wonder the SGS2 is only just now cranking out enough CPU cycles to run almost as smooth graphically as a 2009 iPhone 3GS.

I was always wondering when I saw so many websites that had "iPad versions" of their sites. Its like, why not just get a regular Windows tablet or netbook and view the full internet the same as you would on any computer?

This. Loving PC hardware and owning an iPad are most definitely not mutually exclusive. We are a community of early adopters.
 
You know what's really funny about this? I have the Mercury browser installed on my ipad cause I hate Safari. www.nypost.com is blocked on Safari but worked flawlessly on Mercury.

  • Got two desktop PCs with Windows 7 on them (one is a gaming PC, the second one is a fileserver and media center). If the money i spent on them, i will be well over 2,5k€.
  • Got Macbook Pro 13" and iPod Touch 8GB (for iOS development). 1200€ for the Macbook and 230€ for the iPod Touch.
  • Got Galaxy Tab and HTC Desire HD (as a phone and Android development). 550€ for the Tab (got it long time ago) and 550€ for Desire HD (launch day buy as well).
  • Planing to buy some Windows Phone 7 device for WP7 development. (200-300€ investment).
  • Got Linux in Virtualbox.

Yeah, i guess i entered the church of Apple (i own Apple products after all) :D. Who cares about the rest, right ?
 
People bash Apple because they are overpriced-last-years-hardware that don't run games like BF3 and BC2. :confused:

The only thing going good for iphone/itouch are Cave shmup games and Square-Enix games. Mushihimesama FTW. :p

I have an iPad and an iPhone. I love the products because they do everything I need it to do.

I say people are as much of a fanboy to apple as they r to android
 
Soo...their doing this by 'User Agent" if you throw your iPad through a proxy first NY Post works just fine.

So much for that.
 
Boy if this doesn't sound like someone poking a stick at a bunch of lawyers. I can see the frivolous lawsuits already being drawn up, and the final nail in another newspapers coffin.

This has nothing to do with Apple, this is all NY Post. They made the decision to block the user agent string of Safari on iPad.

Guess what the solution is? Use a user agent faker (jailbroken pad) OR

If you don't want to jb just use SkyFire or one of the other browsers available in the App Store. They can be set to use a desktop user agent.

Sucks that people have to take extra steps, but since SkyFire enables viewing of flash video anyway, it solves two problems.

Between all of the "haha government sucks" post ad-nauseum and the "haha apple sucks" posts ad-naseum this site is losing its luster, I agree with it. [H] used to be a place to come for real hardware information and reviews, these days its just a soap box.

I have an iPhone which I love, and I hate Apple and people like you. Wanna know why? You just don't get it. Yeah, the iphone is a really great phone.

So I use to tell everyone to get one, and not the android. People always listen to me because I never steer them wrong with PC info. They all switched over to android. They didn't want to have to jailbreak and dick around with their "magical" products. They just wanted them to work. Sound familiar?

So in conclusions, all the chest beating you do for Apple is wrong. You just spew the same reality distortion field Apple does, and you never open your eyes to other products.

And I doubt you have many friends or they all would have told you they just wanted their phones to work without jail breaking and dicking around so they switched to android.

The product can't play flash and it isn't the products fault? The product doesn't have a usb connection and it isn't the products fault? The product doesn't compete with other tablets in many ways and it isn't the products fault?

What world do you live in? Seriously. No, the browser thing isn't the ipads fault, but guess what, it's users will suffer. When users suffer enough, they switch products.

The Apple product bashing is WELL deserved.

Guess what, if they didn't lie in the marketing, no one would bash them. We' all just be like, "oh, Apple products, a PC alternative that's a tad pricey".

But that isn't how it's marketed, is it? And it does't help that there is a subset of people that are totally brainwashed by Apple's bullshit now does it?

Apple, like most companies and I include Microsoft in this as well, bring a lot of the bashing on itself. Take for instance Apple's recent actions when dealing with the Mac Defender malware outbreak. Very much like Microsoft did in the beginning days of mass Windows attacks, Apple at first would barely acknowledge the problem and then dragged it's feet when it had to respond. When put in the context of Apple making many heydays highlighting Windows' many vulnerabilities, yes this kind of behavior will draw bashing because hypocrisy is so easy to bash.

I've simply stated that the iPhone is technologically superior to Android phones because of it's GPU and hardware graphics acceleration capabilities. Are you trying to argue that point with me?

The only thing you can argue is weather or not the GPU makes the iPhone superior in tech. I submit yes it does. You can't argue that Android devices have hardware graphics acceleration, or powerful GPUs. Hint: They don't.

Android phones are only half a device. As I said earlier, it's like haveing a 5ghz processor with integrated video.

I don't like Apple as a company and I would never buy a Mac desktop (possibly a MacBook, if they were more reasonably priced, as I love the design and feel) but the iPad is a pretty nice device. My company gave me one for free and after using it for a while, it's a pretty nice, handy device.

People get way too bent out of shape about this. Does Apple as a company have some pretty shitty policies? Yep, they definitely do. But the product itself is well designed. Give me a break.
