I live pretty close to this micro center. However the Tax thing destroys this deal for me. Plus with credit card offers 5% cash back i would look somewhere else. Just my opinion for my personal preference. This is a great deal who wants something NOW hehe
 
I must be totally blind, but I cannot find any mention of a free Ubisoft game....I am not too far from this location either. I am tempted....

It's been removed. The orange/red text where it now says "The World's Most Advanced Graphics" was a line about getting free Ubisoft games at least to time I made my earlier post under all 970/980 cards. 750ti also had a mention about $150 in f2p credits which is part of the current Borderlands promo either.

Microcenter also lists AMDs promotion (which you can still see) in this same spot.

I'm wondering if it might be them jumping the gun in error. The current Nvidia bundle is (Borderlands 2, not including the new 970/980) is actually supposed to run until the end of this month. If a new promotion is starting next month I wouldn't be surprised if they already have shipment of scratch vouchers. Borderlands: Prequel has released and the next Nvidia tied game that can be a showcase is Assassin's Creed Unity which is an Ubisoft game.

Many still don't. We didn't here in Texas until a couple of years ago. That's why I buy my video cards from Newegg.com.

And still in stock this morning! I think due to the pricing differences, the 970s are more in demand, and therefore going faster.
 
i just took the plunge for the msi 980 4g at newegg + a corsair 900d
6am central and were in stock.

everytime ive looked on newegg for the past few weeks its never been in stock.
i hope my order is true, it says its packaging. better not be any problems. because im on vacation this upcoming week and imma want my parts.

Got two the other day and just got 19162 in firestrike heheheh paid 1159,
got newegg to give me a 40.00 coupon giftcard for explain a coupon code did not work to give me 75 .00 off. Then used my credit card, 5 % cash back

out of pocket 1060.00

heheh glad i got these vs 970s

a 980 with 1550 boost got me 13325 in firestrike. single card

2x 970s might get 15k-16k when overclocked

stock 980s got me 19162 firestrike.

Alot quieter than my G1 gaming 980 which is going back. Shorter card is a plus too!
Also during every bootup my G1 gaming is quiet no fans, G1 gaming at 100 percent fan speed at bootup sounds like a blower. Now imagine using two of these cards

Very disappointed with gigabyte. The only thing i liked about the card was that it had two DVI ports unlike all the other non reference 980s asus, msi. Now i have to spend 30 bucks and buy a power adapter to display port to make it work. Hopefully it does.

yeah it takes less than 10 seconds to take off the sticker with a heat gun. You can probably use a hair dryer on the hottest setting too.

Most people however would never think like that and yank the sticker off. btw the MSI gaming overclocks alot better than the Strix has a larger heatsink profile which doesnt do much compared to the competition. .

Yes, the GBT definitely wins on number of ports. Also, there might be something wrong with your setup, as mine don't run at 100% fan when the computer boots. They seem to run at the default lowest/idle speeds.

Yeah but do you really expect people to take a heat gun to a plastic? If it was a metal shroud the thought might've crossed my mind, but a plastic shroud? Forget it.

I had two of those cards. All you need to do is be careful and keep some pressure on the fan itself as you remove the stickers. It's not difficult for anybody with any sense.

Lol I guess if you dont know how to wave a heat gun yeah you should stay away from it. I could probably teach a monkey to use one. search youtube

I guess you are right .. I wouldn't let a child hold a loaded gun either

Seriously though a hair dryer would work just as good. Came off in 10 sec for me. I laugh at YouTube videos people amature reviewer who said ha it took me 10 min to remove the sticker off the fan carefully
 
The sticker was pretty bullshit though. I started to peel mine off, realized how sticky is was, then I started going ssslllooowww until it was fully off.

You should see how fast they come off with heat applied to the sticker

Condescending much? If you don't have a variable temp heat gun you do have to be careful how much you're heating it up. Besides I doubt "take a heat gun to it" is the first thing that comes to mind when you're dealing with a $360 item.

Good that the hair dryer worked for you, but just because someone doesn't want to screw around with their $360 purchase doesn't make them an amateur or whatever.

I used a heat gun to remove the sticker. But you can use a hair dryer if you don't have the balls or know how to use a heat gun on low. Variable heat gun lol . All you do is fan the area . Amateur move would be yanking the sticker off . A hair dryer won't burn anything stop making execuses
 
You should not need to use a tool of any kind to remove a sticker that must be removed before use. Its a moot point now that MSI are shipping without the sticker.
