Gimme a break. :D

Android is the operating system that powers over 1 billion smartphones and tablets. Since these devices make our lives so sweet, each Android version is named after a dessert: Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, and Jelly Bean. As everybody finds it difficult to stay away from chocolate we decided to name the next version of Android after one of our favorite chocolate treats, Kit Kat!

I don't like it only for the reason that they are now free advertising for nestle pretty much. I didn't mind it when they kept it general but why so precise this time? I think there is much more going on with this then it just being their favorite candy but I coudl be wrong.

There is a big difference between "free" and mutually beneficial.

What happened to Key Lime Pie?

KLP was what it was called internally, plus they could still release a new OS and use KLP.

I just want to know whats going to be big about this OS. Everytime they hype a release like this we usually get something pretty cool.

Yeah, we haven't seen anything really cool out of them in a long while, not since HoloUI. Be interested to see what they bring to the table.

Because Wonka couldn't pony up the doh and Butterfinger makes users think of dropping their phone (butterfingers!).

:| Really they're using brand names now?

Who would have thought the largest advertising company on planet earth would do something like this. Next they will be reading our emails to target ads to us. Madness i tell you, madness nobody could see coming.

Hopefully the next update is called "Chili Cheese Fritos".

I stick with older android models, so as long as they continue updates and support down the road, I could care less what they call them.

As if Google leaning on advertising wasn't blatant enough.

We should see it hit double-digital percent adoption by what, 2015?

Why hasn't anyone said it? This sucks!
Google Now is going to be giving you directions to the nearest convenient store. Not your requested destination.

Can we just cut to the chase and call it Google diabetes or Google leg amputation?

Google is "breaking off" pieces of Android from the entire bar so that it can be updated independently of carriers and OEMs. Google Play Services is just part of this.

this is such bullshit, i just want my HTC one to get 4.2+

All right, all together now..."Gimme a break Gimme a break,Gimme a break of that kit kat bar!"

:D

Skittles should be a good release. Those things are bloody addictive! :D
