Newegg using DHL Now!

The 5850 I just received came via UPS 3 day shipping. I was going to order it from zzf, because newegg kept messing with their price depending on whether or not zzf had it in stock. However zzf was 3-5 day shipping, so I couldn't resist getting it 2 days sooner.

I've never seen newegg do deliberate holds when they shipped UPS ground. about 80% of the time (depends when during the day it shipped) stuff from Edison NJ made it in two days. Louisville KY occasionally did the same but was normally three. vs a 5 day guarantee.

I recently ordered ram and it was shipped DHL. Took FOREVER for it to get here. 9 days actually. I was sad.

My brother used to work for DHL at the airport offloading packages. He says their motto is, "If it's not broken by the time it gets to us, it's broken by the time it leaves us". He said they literally played basketball with packages if they weren't too heavy to use the conveyor belt.

DHL, transferred to USPS... 14 days later, got my shit(late for my bro's birthday)... Not happy newegg.

im pissed off at newegg right now. I ordered 2 items at the same exact time but newegg for some odd reason sent them in 2 different packages. x3 720 CPU wich was ordered on the 10th and made it here on the 11th since im 3 hours from the NJ warehouse. Now my game crysis maximum was ordered the same exact time on the 10th and they sent it DHL 4-7 days. Here it is 6 days later and still no game. (Both had free shipping and there was no eggsaver shipping option)

I emailed newegg slightly irritated this is what they just sent me:

We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. After reviewing your account, we show that your order has been shipped out with the tracking # on 1/22. It normally takes DHL 4 to 7 business days to deliver the package. DHL sometimes will transfer the package to USPS to complete the delivery. They sometimes do not update the website in a timely manner.

i dont get why the CPU came in 1 day and the game is going to take up to 7 days. it makes no sense to me .

i did get my game today so now im happy

Easy explanation for this is to see where it's shipping from. They have multiple warehouses and each one seems to stock different items. If they shipped from same location then that seems like a big waste of packaging, time and effort to split it up.

I noticed this back in late 2008/early 2009. DHL sux ass!!!! UPS takes a day or 2 and DHL take 4-6 days, its ridiculous. What really ticks me though is when one carrier tenders it to another carrier, like when DHL gives it to USPS to deliver. Its lame and just adds to the shipping woes. I havent been ordering from them lately but Newegg service is still top notch. Shipping, on the other hand has suffered greatly.

Yeah i love newegg's service, prices and selection. I HATE their shipping rates. I think it is overpriced at times. $8 shipping for 4 SATA cables, but I can get the SAME sata cables at monoprice for $3 shipping. I dont understand newegg's rates for the most part and I think its something they need to work on.

they were both shipped my the NJ warehouse. the game came in a bubble bag USPS took 6 days and the CPU came in a small bo with bubble wrap. it made no sense to me cause they were ordered in the same Order. its ok tho no big deal anymore. i got my game and i jsut ordered a 5850 so im ready to play.

Newegg's shipping is retarded. Most places are free these days for standard, plus I have to pay tax. I only get something there on occasion because they have the best price once in a blue moon with tax.

Here is my shipping path: Take in mind Rowland Heights is a few miles from my house, heck I pass their offices on the way home on Gale St., they give it to DHL which takes it to Carson, about 35 miles from me. Turn it over to USPS who then has to take it back to West Covina. I ordered this on Sun afternoon. It takes a package a few miles from me 3+ days to get here. I processed an order with TigerDirect from Illinois UPS ground last night and it will be here Friday, that's only 1 day slower, and it's freakin free with no tax and 15% cashback lol.

Tey have been using DHL for a while now. It really doesn't matter to me. Fedex, UPS, DHL, etc.. all worked well for me.
